Recently, the synthetic material stern tube bush has been applied by ship owner's requirement because the synthetic material has a merit. That is to say, when stern tube seal is damaged and sea water comes into stern tube, it can work without problem because of water lubricating property. However, the material also has a demerit of temperature rise problem when some factors meets on synthetic material, for example, not sufficient lubrication oil supply and not proper shaft alignment and so on. As known in the world, the RAILKO bush is rampant for synthetic material by some ship owner because of the above mentioned reason. However, the bush has several accidents on large container vessel. Unfortunately or fortunately our yard has a chance to apply the RAILKO bush owing to requirement of specific ship owner. Therefore, it is much more required to approach the accurate shaft alignment analysis. In line with this reason, we had a shaft alignment calculation considering hull deformation and hull flexibility (hull stiffness). Also, in the calculation, we had considered dynamic condition which is reflected he propeller thrust forces and moments and oil film stiffness on the shaft alignment calculation. According to he shaft alignment calculation, bearing slope was applied on the tern tube bush and was measured. The RAILKO bush should be applied the running in procedure according to maker's recommendation for performing the oil film on the bush surface. Finally, the vessels were delivered successfully without any problem with AILKO bush as shown on his paper.
A circulation water channel with observational section of $4m{\times}2.4m{\times}1m(length{\times}breadth{\times}depth)$ and the maximum channel flow speed of 2 m/sec was designed for model tests of fishing gears. It consists of 6 sections evenly divided for easy connection. Two observational acryl windows of $1.2m{\times}1.5m$ and 2cm thick are provided. Steel deflection plates, equally spaced in 20-40cm, are fixed at corners of the channel to reduce the loss of water pressure head through the channel. The flow in the channel is controlled by D.C. motor control system with 50 H.P. driving propeller system. A series of model testing capabilities for fishing gear have been examined and the results are as follows. 1) The speed of water flow was in the range from zero to 2.3 m/sec. 2) The difference between the velocity of channel flow along the center line and that along both sides in the channel was less than 0.2 m/sec.

This paper concerns the deformation behavior of tunnels crossing weak zone during excavation. A three dimensional finite element model was adopted in order to conduct a parametric study on the orientation of weaj zone in terms of strike and dip angle relative to the tunnel longitudinal axis. The results of the analyses were then analyzed so that the tunnel displacements in terms of the ratios between the crown settlement and springline displacement can be related to the orientation of the weak zone. The results indicate that the displacement ratios between the tunnel crown and springline tend to quantitatively change when a weak zone exists near or ahead of the tunnel suggesting that the displacement ratios can be effectively used to predict the weak zone during tunnelling. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.

In this paper, it performed to the elastic-plastic large deflection series analysis using the experimental model and predicted a failure mode and ultimate strength. The collapse mode of numerical analysis model is formed a plastic hinge on loaded flange and consistent with the collapse mode of experimental model. Also, The yield line is formed in the web could observed that have occurred the crippling collapse mode and the ultimate loads of the experimental model and numerical analysis model have maintained linearly Means 1.07, Standard deviation 0.04, Coefficient of variation(COV) 0.04 and the result of ultimate loads have appeared approximately 8% error rate. it was found that very satisfied to the experimental results and the applied rules. if it is considered to be maintain a reasonable safety level, it is possible to predict the failure modes of aluminium alloy plate girders and ultimate loads.

Human-powered aircraft has wings with a shape of high aspect ratio which results in large bending displacement. This paper aims to improve the structural limitation by changing an incidence angle of the wings. The tendency change of bending displacement at the wing tip is observed assuming that airfoil and cross-sectional shape of the wing is fixed, and amount of the total lift generated is satisfied. Quasi-steady lift, drag and the aerodynamic moment are distributed with regard to sections of the wing. Those are analyzed using a numerical nonlinear lifting-line method and 'geometrically exact beam' (GEB) program in EDISON. 'Variational Asymptotic Beam Sectional Analysis' (VABS) program is used to check if the present wing is structurally solid. Furthermore, the predicted tip deflections are verified by comparing with DYMORE.
Reducing the self-weight of reinforced concrete structures problem is discussed in this paper by using two types of self-weight reduction, the first is by using lightweight coarse aggregate (crushed brick) and the second is by using styropor block. Experimental and Numerical studies are conducted on (LWAC) lightweight aggregate reinforced concrete slabs, having styropor blocks with various sizes of blocks and the ratio of shear span to the effective depth (a/d). The experimental part included testing eleven lightweight concrete one-way simply supported slabs, comprising three as reference slabs (solid slabs) and eight as styropor block slabs (SBS) with a total reduction in cross-sectional area of (43.3% and 49.7%) were considered. The holes were formed by placing styropor at the ineffective concrete zones in resisting the tensile stresses. The length, width, and thickness of specimen dimensions were 1.1 m, 0.6 m, and 0.12 m respectively, except one specimen had a depth of 85 mm (which has a cross-sectional area equal to styropor block slab with a weight reduction of 49.7%). Two shear spans to effective depth ratios (a/d) of (3.125) for load case (A) and (a/d) of (2) for load case (B), (two-line monotonic loads) are considered. The test results showed under loading cases A and B (using minimum shear reinforcement and the reduction in cross-sectional area of styropor block slab by 29.1%) caused an increase in strength capacity by 60.4% and 54.6 % compared to the lightweight reference slab. Also, the best percentage of reduction in cross-sectional area is found to be 49.7%. Numerically, the computer program named (ANSYS) was used to study the behavior of these reinforced concrete slabs by using the finite element method. The results show acceptable agreement with the experimental test results. The average difference between experimental and numerical results is found to be (11.06%) in ultimate strength and (5.33%) in ultimate deflection.

The purpose of this paper is to study for fire example by fuel leakage in LPG Vehicle. At first example, the car was repaired the fuel line that was connected with pressure hose between fuel regulator and injector in engine. But the service man was not very tighten with regular torque. At a result, the gas leaked on hot parts of engine. It verified the production of fire by engine heat. At second example, when the repair man, after replacement the injector, inserted the injector in a assembling part of it, he didn't the transform condition of fixing part. Therefore, the tearing phenomenon of O ring producted the controlled leakage of fuel by the injector deflection. It found the fact that the fuel leaked with gap of O ring. At third example. the fuel-cut solenoid valve was lined with pressure regulator unit. But the service man didn't throughly certify the leaked work of connected parts after repaired it. As a result, it certified the fire by engine heating leaked liquefied petroleum gas. Therefore it have to minimize the fire production that the driver should do no problem to throughly manage the fuel system.
Concrete, a mixed material, has heterogeniety, anisotrophy and nonlinearity. Therefore, in its 'racture analysis, it is more reasonable to evaluate its fracture toughness by applying the concept of 'racture mechanics rather than the strength concept. Up to the present the concepts of fracture mechanics which were applied to concrete have been divided into two main classes. The one is the concept of linear elastic fracture mechanics and the other is the concept of elastic-plastic fracture mechanics. But it has been pointed out that there are many problems and irrationalities in applying the concept of linear elastic fracture mechanics to concrete. In this study, the J -integral method and the COD method mainly used in the analysis of nonlinear fracture mechanics, were introduced and the three point bending test was carried out for investigating the effects of the variation of the maximum aggregate size and notch depth on the fracture behavior and the crack growth of concrete, and the relationships of fracture energy and crack opening displacement. According to the results of this study the more the maximum aggregate size and the notch depth increased, the more the nonlinearity of load-deflection behavior was remarkable. The increase of the coarse aggregate size created the more ductility of concrete. Thus concrete showed the more stable fracture. As for the path of the crack growth, the more the coarse aggregate size increased, the more it was irregulary deviated from the straight line but it was not almost affected by the variation of the notch depth. Also, the fracture energy increased according as the coarse aggregate size increased and the notch depth decreased.

On conventional railway lines, trains with different speeds are operated. Therefore, trains moving on curved sections with cants must accept various ranges of balanced cants, cant deficiency, and cant excess, which is essential for the comfort and safety of train operation. In this study, the correlation between the curve radius, cant, and train speed on a track was analyzed to check the cant range that satisfies the criteria of train types, operation speed, cant deficiency, and cant excess. Also, the range of setting the cant by the curve radius and balanced cant were calculated by a regression analysis of train speed according to the frequency of operation in the case of mixed trains. The results could make it possible to improve the speed of the operation route, reduce the loss of ride quality, reduce the risk of derailing caused by cant deficiency, and minimize the load deflection by excess cant. This will ensure the safety of trains running on curves and improve the efficiency of track maintenance.

This study analyzed the relationship between major parameters and numerical analysis results according to various excavations conducted around the urban railway, application of machine learning techniques and verified the scope of influence of the adjacent excavation on the existing urban railway box structure and the appropriateness of the safety area. This study targeted the actual negotiated adjacent excavation works and box structures around the urban railway, and the analysis was conducted on the most representative two-line box structures. The analysis confirmed that the difference in depth of urban railway, excavation depth of adjacent excavation, and depth of underground water level are important parameters, and the difference in excavation depth of adjacent excavation is the parameter that affects the behavior of underground box structures and is an important requirement for setting safety areas. In particular, the deeper the depth of the adjacent excavation work, the greater the effect on the deflection of the underground box structure, and the horizontal separation distance, one of the important requirements for determining the management grade of the existing adjacent excavation work, is relatively small.
