The today's decision making tasks in globalized business and manufacturing become more complex, and ill-defined, and typically multiaspect or multi-discipline due to many influencing factors. The requirement of obtaining fast and reliable decision solutions further complicates the task. Intelligent decision support system (DSS) currently exhibit wide spread applications in business and manufacturing because of its ability to treat ill-structuredness and vagueness associated with complex decision making problems. For multi-dimensional decision problems, generally an optimum single DSS can be developed. However, with an increasing number of influencing dimensions, increasing number of their factors and relationships, complexity of such a system exponentially grows. As a result, software development and maintenance of an optimum DSS becomes cumbersome and is often practically unfeasible for real situations. This paper presents a technically feasible approximation of an optimum DSS through decreasing its complexity by a modular structure. It consists of multiple DSSs, each of which contains the homogenous knowledge's, decision making tools and possibly expertise's pertaining to a certain decision making dimension. Simple, efficient and practical integration mechanism is introduced for integrating the individual DSSs within the proposed overall DSS architecture.

Many organizations have developed their own traditional quality information systems. But, they think of it as one of the functional information systems not as a company-wide decision support information systems. A study on traditional quality information systems(QIS) has been conducted and a new conceptual framework of quality information system is proposed in this paper. In order to support enterprise wide total quality management aggressively, a new conceptual framework, named quality management support information system(QMSIS) is developed and proposed. This framework is based upon Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award(MBNQA) model integrates management information system approach and traditional quality information system concept. In this model, organizational performance and process performance can be monitored to support managers , decision making about organizational quality management activities.

Group Decision Support System(GDSS) has been a rapidly emerging field of the 1990's. Whereas conventional Decision Support System(DSS) helps individual decision makers, GDSS are designed to help groups of senior management and professional groups reach consensus. However, empirical researches which required to establish the optimum GDSS specification are scarce. Along with this purpose, this paper was focused to investigate the effect of group decision factors on the efficiency of the group decision. In this paper, task types of group decision which were discussed as major variable at many papers were settled as environmental factor. The result has verified the importance of the role-related factors on the efficiency of the group decision. This fact highlights the need of more researches on the role-related factors in the group decision in the GDSS development.

This study investigates the effect of group size on group performance, here the quality of group decision, Four effects are proposed and tested in a field experimental setting : (1) the relationship between the group size and the distribution of individual's problem-solving ability ; (2) the change of the group decision quality as group size increases ; (3) the relationship between the group decision quality and the quality of the best/worst member as group size increases ; (4) the relationship between the group decision quality and the average quality of individuals in the group as group size increases. Data showed that contrary to the exiting results, group decision quality was not improved with the group size. Rather, it showed a little tendency that group decision quality was worsened with the group size. Data also showed that consensus-oriented group decision making process produced the compromised output. Thus, group decision quality was not better than the average group members'. The opinion of the best member was not accepted. The implications of the findings are discussed for the development of a Korean GSS.

본 논문은 multiclass 문제에서 기존에 나와 있는 fuzzy support vector mahchines 이 decision boundary 를 설정하는데 있어 모든 훈련 데이터에 대해서 바람직한 decision boundary 를 만들지 못하므로 그러한 경우를 예로 제시한다. 그리고 그에 대한 개선점으로 밀도를 이용해 decision boundary 를 조정하여 기존 FSVM 의 decision boundary 보다 더 타당한 decision boundary 를 설정하는 것을 보인다.

GIS는 속성자료와 관련하여 공간자료를 다루는데 강력한 수단이다. 그러나 GIS는 동적인 계획문제(dynamic planning problems)를 다루는데 있어서 분석기능과 인터페이스기능이 부족하다. 의사결정지원 체계(Decision Support Systems: DSS)는 그래픽사용자인터페이스(Graphic User Interface: GUI)기능, 모델링기능과 데이터베이스기능을 제공하여 GIS의 부족한 면을 보완한다. DSS의 새로운 분류인 공간의사 결정지원체계(Spatial Decision Support Systems: SDSS)는 공간차원의 문제를 취급할 시 표현기능, 기본적인 분석기능, 그리고 공간, 비공간자료 취급기능과 같은 GIS의 기능과 그래픽사용자인터페이스기능, 모델링기능, 그리고 데이터베이스기능과 같은 DSS의 기능을 통합한다. 계획지원체계(Planning Support Systems: PSS)는 SDSS의 기능에 더 진보된 공간분석기능과 시간기능을 추가한다. 이 연구에서는 GIS, 가치공학(value engineering: VE), 그리고 생애주기비용(life cycle costing: LCC)에 의한 토지이용계획에 따른 상수도관망의 용량확장을 위한 PSS의 구축에 초점을 맞추고자 한다. 이러한 PSS는 토지이용계획에 따른 상수도 필요량을 공급하고 도시성장 규제를 위한 일련의 용량확장대안을 작성하고 도시성장에 연관되는 상수도관망의 투자에 관한 문제를 다룬다.

Almost all result for group decision support systems (GDSS) have been obtained in a United States context, based on conventions and culture of American group processes. This paper reports on the construction and testing of a prototype GDSS to support international negotiation. The system was shown to work and to provide gains in both the quality of the interaction and the attitude toward the decision reached. Although the prototype system is narrow in scope, focusing on two specific cultures and a single scenario and uses simple and limited technology, the results obtained suggest that computer-based intercultural GDSS can help people in staving focused, in managing the added complexity of multinational negotiation, and in interacting effectively with one another.

It is expected that many heterogeneous wireless systems, such as 3GPP LTE systems, WiMAX systems and WLAN systems, will coexist in the next generation wireless communication environments. Integrated radio resource management and seamless vertical handoff (VHO) should be supported to provide integrated communication services over multi-radio access networks. A new class of adaptive VHO system that views the handoff problem as a pattern recognition problem is proposed. In this paper, we propose a unified radio resource management (URRM) architecture and Support Vector Machine (SVM) based vertical handoff decision system. Extensive simulation studies show the proposed VHO algorithm outperforms RSS based VHO algorithms in terms of throughput and service cost.

There have been growing recognition on the needs of coordination of diverse activities across cross-functional business areas necessarily involving group decision-making processes. Although many group decision-making support tools and methods have been introduced to enable the collaborative processes of group decision-making, they often lack features supporting the dynamic complexity issues. This study proposes system dynamics modeling approach based on simulation techniques to deal with the group decision-making tasks having properties of dynamic complexity.

There are six perspectives of fit in strategy research, each implying distinct theoretical meaning and requiring the use of specific analytical schemes. But there is a few literature of the perspective in the discipline of Organizational Decision-Making and DSS. This study is a prior research which objective is to investigate the perspective of fit emprically in the discipline. The data were collected throughout the sampled business firms with premade questionaire and analysis were conducted with correlation analysis, regression, ANOVA and so forth. The research finding is that both predictors, one of which can be the moderator, influence the performance, and that the joint-effect of them influence the performance. Thus,'Fit as Moderation' would be suggested to be a proper model for the research in the discipline of Organizational Decision-Making and Decision Support Systems.
