The effect of equivalence ratio and velocity on the stability of flame in dump combustor was studied in an atmospheric pressure, laboratory scathe dump combustor operating natural gas. Traditionally, peak-to-peak pressure, fluctuation of the heat release rate and Rayleigh index were used to find and control the combustion instability. Cross correlation coefficients, Ci,j which is defined as the normalized value of the integration of the product of two of the mixer pressure, dump plane pressure and heat release rate, are introduced to see whether the flame is stable or not. Ci,j shows more sensitive to combustion status than Rayleigh index in steadily burning flame. Also, the result indicates that the amplitude of Ci,j between heat release and mixer pressure goes up before the flame at the rich de-stabilizing equivalence ratio near $\psi$=0.85. t means Ci:j at this case has a potential to detect the de-stablizing moment in prior to becoming unstable in dump combustor.

This paper describes development of a high speed Doppler OFDI system for non-invasive vascular imaging. Doppler OFDI (optical frequency domain imaging) is one of the phase-resolved second generation OCT (optical coherence tomography) techniques for high resolution imaging of moving elements in biological tissues. To achieve a phase-resolved imaging, two temporally separated measurements are required. In a conventional Doppler OCT, a pair of massively oversampled successive A-lines is used to minimize de-correlation noise at the expense of significant imaging speed reduction. To minimize a de-correlation noise between targeted two measurements without suffering from significant imaging speed reduction, several methods have been developed such as an optimized scanning pattern and polarization multiplexed dual beam scanning. This research represent novel imaging technique using frequency multiplexed dual beam illumination to measure exactly same position with aimed time interval. Developed system has been verified using a tissue phantom and mouse vessel imaging.

Particulate matter (PM) measurements are important in air quality, public health, epidemiological studies and decision making for short and long-term policies implementation. However, only few cities in the word have advance air quality-monitoring networks able to provide reliable information of PM leaves in the ambient air, trends and extent of the pollution. In Colombia, only major cities measure PM concentrations. Available measurements from Bogota, Medellin and Bucaramanga show that PM concentration are well above World Health Organization guidelines, but up to now levels and trends of PM in other cities and regions of the country are not well known. Satellite measurements serve as an alternative approach to study air quality in regions were surface measurements are not available. The aim of this study is to perform a spatial and temporal assessment of PM in the ambient air of Colombia. We used Aerosol optical depth (AOD) retrieved by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite of NASA and surface measurements from the air quality networks of Bogota, Medellin and Bucaramanga. In a first step, we estimated the correlation between MODIS-AOD and monthly average surface measurements (2000 to 2015) from these three cities, obtaining correlation coefficient R values over 0.4 for the cities under study. After, we used AOD and $PM_{10}$ measurements to study the temporal evolution of PM in different cities and regions. Finally, we used AOD measurements to identify cities and regions with the highest AOD levels in Colombia. All the methods presented in this paper may serve as an example for other countries or regions to identify and prioritize locations that require the implementation of more accurate air quality measurements.

This study describes the meaning of and the formula for Kor-$h_T$, which is a modified index built on the tapered h-index by applying 'the ranking according to the number of citations of journals'. This study evaluated the de-duplication rate of index values of Kor-$h_T$ and analyzed the change in the correlation between the index values and evaluation elements using the Korea Citation Index data from 2008 to 2010. Kor-$h_T$ is compared with h-index, tapered h-index, and IF. As a result, Kor-$h_T$ appeared to be superior to other indexes on de-duplication rate. It is also shown that there is a very strong positive correlation between the evaluation elements, the number of citations and the number of articles of journals, and the index values of Kor-$h_T$.

PURPOSE. To evaluate the polishing effect on roughness and color change of pressed and layering ceramics after immersion in coffee solution. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 88 ceramic discs ($1.0mm{\times}10.0mm$) were manufactured - 44 nano-fluorapatite layering ceramics (IPS e.max Ceram. Group C) and 44 pressed lithium disilicate ceramic discs (IPS e. max Press - Group P). Each group was divided into 4 subgroups according to surface treatments: (G) Glaze, (S) Shofu polishing system (Shofu Inc.), (E) Edenta AG polishing System, (KG) $30-{\mu}m$ diamond granulation tip. Surface roughness (Ra) and color change (${\Delta}E$) measurings after the surface treatments were performed, before and 12 days after the immersion in coffee solution. A samples' qualitative analysis was conducted with a scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Data were statistically-treated with one-way-ANOVA and Duncan's tests, apart from paired t-test and Pearson's correlation test (${\alpha}=5%$). RESULTS. The decrescent order, both for surface roughness (Ra) and ${\Delta}E$ for both ceramics were: KG > E > S > G (P<.05). With exception for PG and CG subgroups, which did not present statistical difference between them, all other pressed ceramics subgroups presented smaller Ra values and greater ${\Delta}E$ values than the layering ceramics subgroups (P<.05). CONCLUSION. Although mechanical polishing systems presented intermediate Ra values, their colors were considered clinically acceptable. There is a strong correlation between the surface roughness and the color change of tested ceramics.

Background: A urethral obstruction (UO) is an emergency commonly observed in male cats, which can result in significant clinical and laboratory alterations, leading to complications and death. Objectives: This study aimed to correlate symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA) with the urea, creatinine, potassium, and bicarbonate levels in cats with UO. In addition, the correlation between clinical score and time of obstruction was evaluated. Methods: Thirty male cats were selected and allocated into a control group (CG, n = 13) and an obstruction group (OG, n = 17). The laboratory analyses were conducted before treatment (M0) and at different times after treatment (12 h [M12], 24 h [M24], and 48 h [M48]). Correlations were established between SDMA and creatinine, urea, bicarbonate, potassium, time of obstruction, and the clinical score. Results: A strong correlation (r > 0.6) was observed between SDMA and creatinine, urea, and potassium in the OG. Furthermore, there was substantial agreement (kappa value) between SDMA and creatinine at M24. A higher clinical score was associated with a longer time of obstruction. In the OG, at M48, the SDMA and creatinine levels were 50% and 41.2% higher, respectively. Conclusions: A correlation was observed between SDMA and creatinine in obstructed cats, and significant agreement between these values was observed 24 h after the unblocking treatment. A correlation among SDMA, urea, and potassium was observed. Approximately 9% more cats continued to have elevated SDMA levels after 48 h of treatment compared to creatinine. This suggests a slightly lower sensitivity of the latter biomarker but does not exclude the possibility of congruent and normalized values after a longer evaluation period.

In order to select potential plant resources as functional materials and natural antioxidants, we evaluated antioxidant activity and serotonin derivatives of safflower germplasm collected from five countries. N-(p-Coumaroyl) serotonin (CS) and N-feruloylserotonin (FS) were analyzed by using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC). Total polyphenol content (TPC) was determined by Folin-Ciocalteu method and antioxidant activities were estimated by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazil (DPPH), 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS), Ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and Reducing power (RP) assays. The TPC showed a range of 28.25 to $90.53{\mu}g$ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/mg dried extract (DE). DPPH, ABTS, FRAP and RP assay were in the range of 18.76 to 93.98, 48.91 to 163.73, 3.80 to 132.29 and 26.32 to $80.08{\mu}g$ ascorbic acid equivalent (ASCE)/mg DE, respectively. Among the five countries, safflower seed collected from Iran had the highest levels of serotonin derivatives and antioxidant activities than other countries (p<0.05). CS showed high correlation with TPC, ABTS and DPPH (r=0.673,0.727,0.820), and FS showed high correlation with DPPH (r=0.740). Accessions IT321214 and IT321215 could be useful for development of new functional materials and could be used as a source of valuable natural antioxidant materials.

Nanocomposites made of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and organo-modified montmorillonite (O-MMT) were processed by melt compounding from a commercially available premixed LLDPE/nanoclay masterbatch, at different nanoclay loadings, by co-rotating twin-screw extruder. The morphological and dielectric properties of LLDPE/O-MMT nanocomposites were investigated to understand the structure-dielectric properties relationship in the nanocomposites. The microstructures of the materials were characterized by wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Initial findings by FTIR spectroscopy characterization indicated the absence of any chemical interaction between LLDPE and nanoclay during the extrusion process, while DSC showed that a 1% wt loading of nanoclay particles increased the degree of crystallinity of the nanocomposites samples. On the other hand, XRD, SEM, TEM and AFM indicated that nanoclay layers were intercalated or exfoliated in the LLDPE matrix. A correlation between the structure and dielectric properties of LLDPE/O-MMT nanocomposites was found and discussed.

Up to the 60's cigarette paper commercial grades were simply described as ' non combustible ', ' combustible ' or ' extra-combustible '. It was assumed that combustibility of the paper itself was correlated with cigarette combustibility. Since then, the characteristics of cigarette paper, like natural porosity and burning additives, which influence truly cigarette combustibility, have been described by various authors and it became clear to cigarette designers that paper combustibility was not generally a significant factor governing cigarette combustibility. On the other hand, for Roll Your Own(RYO)wrapping papers, the ECPCI has proposed to the CORESTA RYO Task Force to use paper combustibility, and specially the LCT test, to classify papers between low and high smoke delivery, and a new Task Force on PAPER COMBUSTIBILITY was recently set up to develop a recommended method. The objective of this presentation Is to show results demonstrating that for paper used on cigarettes, there is NO GENERAL CORTRELATION between PAPER and CIGARETTE combustibility. We will also show results confirming that, for the specific group of RYO booklet papers containing no burning additives, there is a correlation between paper combustibility and FCSA's Combustibility/smoke delivery. This apparent discrepancy will be explained by reviewing the role played by the various characteristics of cigarette paper in governing cigarette combustibility.

Cdc25 phosphatases have been considered as attractive drug targets for anticancer therapy due to the correlation of their overexpression with a wide variety of cancers. We have been able to identify five novel Cdc25 phosphatase inhibitors with micromolar activity by means of a structure-based de novo design method with a known inhibitor scaffold. Because the newly discovered inhibitors are structurally diverse and have desirable physicochemical properties as a drug candidate, they deserve further investigation as anticancer drugs. The differences in binding modes of the identified inhibitors in the active sites of Cdc25A and B are addressed in detail.
