In this paper, An 8${\times}$l ID-IDCT processor with adder-based distributed arithmetic(DA) and bit-serial method Is presented. To reduce hardware cost and to improve operating speed, the proposed 8${\times}$1 ID-IDCT used the bit-serial method and DA method. The transform of coefficient equation results in reduction in hardware cost and has a regularity in implementation. The sign extension computation method reduces operation clock. As a result of logic synthesis, The gate count of designed 8${\times}$1 1D-IDCT is 17,504. The sign extension processing block has gate count of 3,620. That is 20% of total 8${\times}$1 ID-IDCT architecture. But the sign extension processing block improves more than twice in throughput. The designed IDCT processes 50Mpixels per second and at a clock frequency of 100MHz.
Video adaptation in response to dynamic resource conditions and user preferences is required as a key technology to enable universal multimedia access (UMA) through heterogeneous networks by a multitude of devices In a seamless way. Although many adaptation techniques exist, selections of appropriate adaptations among multiple choices that would satisfy given constraints are often ad hoc. To provide a systematic solution, we present a general conceptual framework to model video entity, adaptation, resource, utility, and relations among them. It allows for formulation of various adaptation problems as resource-constrained utility maximization. We apply the framework to a practical case of dynamic bit rate adaptation of MPEG-4 video streams by employing combination of frame dropping and DCT coefficient dropping. Furthermore, we present a descriptor, which has been accepted as a part of MPEG-21 Digital Item Adaptation (DIA), for supporting terminal and network quality of service (QoS) in an interoperable manner. Experiments are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the presented framework using the descriptor.
The most difficult of implementation PACS is large amount of data. Therefore, PACS needs mass storage, as well as rapid transmission time. Consequently, medical images needs compression when stored in PACS. WT(wavelet transform) was announced by Ingrid Daubechies and Stephane Mallat, WT was methods of signal analysis by a base functions set same as Fourie transform. This paper estimated an efficiency, that experimental medical images compressed by DWT. The result of estimated, we are knows effectiveness that display to remained signal in low frequency region after 4-level DWT form $512{\times}512{\times}2^8$ input images. Compression ratio of images by 4-level DWT was 1:16. It is a high compression ratio, the other side has a problem appears on staircase phenomenon.
Among the compression methods of moving picture information, a motion estimation method is used to remove time-repeating. The Block Matching Algorithm in motion estimation methods is the commonest one. In recent days, it is required the more advanced high quality in many image processing fields, for example HDTV, etc. Therefore, we have to accomplish not by means of Partial Search Algorithm, but by means of Full Search Algorithm in Block Matching Algorithm. In this paper, it is suggested a structure that reduce total calculation quantity and size, because the structure using Bit Plane select and use only 3bit of 8bit luminance signal.

This paper proposes a method of adaptively generating a gait pattern of biped robot. The gait synthesis is based on human's gait pattern analysis. The proposed method can easily be applied to generate the natural and stable gait pattern of any biped robot. To analyze the human's gait pattern, sequential images of the human's gait on the sagittal plane are acquired from which the gait control values are extracted. The gait pattern of biped robot on the sagittal plane is adaptively generated by a genetic algorithm using the human's gait control values. However, galt trajectories of the biped robot on the sagittal Plane are not enough to construct the complete gait pattern because the bided robot moves on 3-dimension space. Therefore, the gait pattern on the frontal plane, generated from Zero Moment Point (ZMP), is added to the gait one acquired on the sagittal plane. Consequently, the natural and stable walking pattern for the biped robot is obtained.

This paper presents a spliced color image detection method using Benford' Law and color difference. For a suspicious image, after color conversion, the discrete wavelet transform and the discrete cosine transform are performed. We extract the difference between the ideal Benford distribution and the empirical Benford distribution of the suspicious image as features. The difference between Benford distributions for each color component were also used as features. Our method shows superior splicing detection performance using only 13 features. After training the extracted feature vector using SVM classifier, we determine whether the presence of the image splicing forgery. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods with smaller number of features in terms of splicing detection accuracy.

In this paper, we propose detection methods for gradual scene changes such as dissolve, pan, and zoom. The proposal method to detect a dissolve region uses scene features based on spatial statistics of the image. The spatial statistics to define shot boundaries are derived from squared means within each local area. We also propose a method of the camera motion detection using four representative motion vectors in the background. Representative motion vectors are derived from macroblock motion vectors which are directly extracted from MPEG streams. To reduce the implementation time, we use DC sequences rather than fully decoded MPEG video. In addition, to detect the gradual scene change region precisely, we use all types of the MPEG frames(I, P, B frame). Simulation results show that the proposed detection methods perform better than existing methods.

There are channel errors when video data are transmitted between encoder and decoder. These channel errors would make decoded image incorrect, so it is very important to detect and recover channel errors. This paper proposes a method of error detection and recovery by hiding specific information into video bitstream using fragile watermark and checking it later. The proposed method requires no additional bits into compressed bitstream since it embeds a user-specific data pattern in the least significant bits of LEVELs in VLC codewords. The decoder can extract the information to check whether the received bitstream has an error or not. We also propose to use this method to embed essential data such as motion vectors that can be used for error recovery. The proposed method can detect corrupted MBs that usually escape the conventional syntax-based error detection scheme. This proposed method is quite simple and of low complexity. So the method can be applied to multimedia communication system in low bitrate wireless channel.

In this paper. we propose a new digital watermarking technique which uses the self-similarity of OCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) coefficients for the ownership protection of an image, similar coefficients are classified by SOM(Self-Organizing Map) out of Neural Network. The watermark is inserted into the selected cluster among clusters which consist of coefficients. Generally, the inserted watermark in high frequency regions of an image is eliminated by the compression process such as JPEG compressions, and the inserted watermark in low frequency regions of an image causes the distortion of an image quality. Therefore, the watermark is inserted into the cluster that has many coefficients in the middle frequency regions. This algorithm reduces the distortion of an image quality because of inserting the watermark into an image according to the number of coefficients in selected cluster. To extract watermarks from the watermarked image, the selected cluster is used without an original image. In the experiment, the new proposed algorithm have a good quality and endure attacks(JPEG compressions, filtering. zoom in, zoom out, cropping, noises) very well.
The classical concept for iron uptake into mammalian cells has been the endocytosis of transferrin( $T_{f}$ )-bound F $e^{3+}$ via the $T_{f}$ - $T_{f}$ receptor cycle. In this case, we could not explain the uptake of F $e^{2+}$ ion and the export of iron from endosome. Studies on iron transport revealed that other transport system exists in epithelial cells of the intestine. One of non- $T_{f}$ -receptor-mediated transport systems is Nramp2/DMT1/DCT1 which transports M $n^{++}$, $Mg^{++}$, Z $n^{++}$, $Co^{++}$, N $i^{++}$ or C $u^{++}$ ion as well as F $e^{+2}$ ion. DMT1 was cloned from intestines of iron-deficient rats and shown to be a hydrogen ion-coupled iron transporter and a protein regulated by absorbed dietary iron. DMT1 is founded in other cells such as cortical and hippocampal glial cells as well as endothelial cells in duodenum. Two F $e^{3+}$ ion bound to transferrin( $T_{f}$ ) are taken up via the $T_{f}$ - $T_{f}$ receptor cycle in the intestinal epithelial cell. F $e^{3+}$ in endosome was converted to F $e^{2+}$ ion, and then exported to cytosol via DMT1. F $e^{2+}$ ion is taken up into cytosol via DMT1. Several other transporters such as FET, FRE, CCC2, AFT1, SMF, FTR, ZER, ZIP, ZnT and CTR have been reported recently and dysfunction of the transporters are related with diseases containing Wilson's disease, Menkes disease and hemochromatosis. Evidences from several studies strongly suggest that DMT1 is the major transporter of iron in the intestine and functions critically in transport of other metal ions.
