한국 보육시설의 영아기 프로그램 운영 평가 (Evaluation of Infant/Toddler Programs in Korean Day Care Centers)

  • This study investigated the quality of infant/toddler programs in 200 day care centers in Korea. The quality of infant/toddler programs was evaluated by observation and interview, using the questionnaire method. Results showed that the quality of the programs was moderate. There were significant differences in the quality of programs by type of day care center, i. e. the quality of infant/toddler programs in national and private day care centers was higher than in family day care. Future suggestions were presented for quality day care.

보육시설의 유아기 프로그램 평가 연구 (Evaluation of Early Childhood Programs in Korean Day Care Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and evaluate quality of early childhood programs in day care centers. The subjects were 283 day care centers in Korea. Quality of early childhood programs was evaluated by observation and interview, using questionnaire. The results showed that the quality of early childhood programs was moderate. There were significant differences in quality of early childhood programs by type of day care center ; the level of early childhood programs in national and private centers was high than in family day care. Future directions were presented for quality day care.

영아보육 및 가족변인이 어머니의 앙육행동에 미치는 영향 (Infant Day-Care and Family Factors on Maternal Behavior)

  • Multiple features of infant day-care are explored, including age of entry, quantity, quality and stability of day-care. And relative contribution of day-care and family factors on maternal behaviors are examined. Data were gathered from 299 mothers who have infants aged under 36 months using self-report questionnaires. Results show that more than 40% infants enter day-care before 6 months of their life and about 85% of infants have far more than 30 hours of care a week. Half of the infants experience different day-care arrangements more than once. Compared to the other types of day-care, frequency of day-care arrangement change and quality of care are highest in private child-care centers. A series of Hierarchical regression results reveal that quality of day care is negatively related to mothers' control behavior whereas positively related to mothers' responsive behavior. But in general, family and child characteristics play a greater role in mothers' parenting behaviors than infant day-care characteristics.

탁아기관의 질, 탁아경험 및 가족특성과 아동의 사회성발달과의 관계 (Relationships between Children's Social Development and Day Care Quality, Child-care Experience and Family Characteristics)

  • The purpose of this study was: (1) to examine relationships between social development and day care quality, child-care experience and family characteristics, and (2) to investigate the explainability of those related variables for social development. Subjects for this study were 252 4-year-old children and their mothers from 32 day care centers in Seoul. Harms & Clifford's Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale was used to measure the quality of day care. The main results were as follows: (1) Day care quality, child-care experience and family characteristics were significantly related to social development. (2) Child's gender, months of age, mother's child rearing attitude, the length of child-care experience, overall quality of day care, and group size significantly predicted social development. 33% of the variance of social development was explained by these variables. The relative influence of these variables to the prediction of social development was about the same.

보육시설의 질에 따른 유아의 사회적 능력 (Children's Social Competence According to the Day Care Quality)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the children's social competence according to not only the day care centers overall, but subordinate quality. Subiects for this study involved auditions, observations, and the use of questionnaires. By using a SAS statistic program, the average, and the standard deviation, and the One-way ANOVA/Duncan test were obtained from the study: The following results were obtained from the study: 1. For the test of the day care centers overall and subordinate quality, an average of the centers whole quality scored 2.56 and the subordinate quality ranged from 1.94 to 2.88. 2. When the children's social copetence according to the day care centers overall quality was examined, high-quality centers ranked higher social competence of children than that of low-quality centers. 3. Finally, the children's social competence according to the day care centers subordinate quality was inspected. Here, the results showed a significat difference in the 'planning and operation of curriculum' and the 'interaction between terachers and children'. not unlike the above results, high subordinate-quality day care centers scored higher social competence of children than that of low subordinate-quality day care centers.

아동의 사회적 위축에 대한 아동의 행동억제, 보육경험 및 어머니의 통제적 양육행동의 영향 (The Effects of child Inhibition, Day-care Experiences and Mothers' Controlling Child-rearing Behavior on Child Social Withdrawal)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the main and interaction effects of inhibition, day-care experiences and mothers' controlling child-rearing behavior on young children's social withdrawal in peer situations. A total of 62 young children(34 boys; 28girls) enrolled in day-care center and their mothers participated in this study. Data on child inhibition and parenting were gathered via questionnaires whereas the quality of day-care and social withdrawal were observed in the day-care center. As results, the quality of day-care and mothers' controlling child-rearing behavior were negatively related to social withdrawal. Further, both day-care entry age and the quality of day-care were served as an intervening variables between child inhibition and social withdrawal.

영유아기의 탁아 경험과 유아의 부모에 대한 애착 및 사회정서적 문제행동과의 관계 (Relationships between Young Children's Day Care Experience and Their Attachment Relationships with Parents and Socioemotional Behavior Problems)

  • The purpose of the current study was to determine whether preschoolers' attachment relationships with their parents and socioemotional behaviors are related to their day care experiences in infancy and at the present time. The participants consisted of 59 preschoolers and their mothers from 2-parent, white, middle-class dual earner families in Madison, Wisconsin. Preschoolers' attachment quality was measured by two representational instruments: the Separation Anxiety Test and "My Family and Friends". Mothers completed questionnaires about their family background and their children's day care history. The quality of current day care was obtained from directors' reports about regulatable features of the day care centers. Teachers completed the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire. Data was analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the quality of preschoolers' attachment relationships with parents were significantly related to the amount of day care during infancy, the quality of current care, and children's gender. In addition, the amount of infant day care appeared to have negative relations with children's socioemotional behavior problems as evaluated by teachers.

가정보육시설과 기관보육시설의 질적 특성과 영아의 사회.정서 발달 (The quality of home-based day care and center-based day care and socio-emotional development among infants)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the quality (structure and process) of home-based day care and center-based day care, and to examine socio-emotional development among infants who were in both types of day care. The subjects of this study were 101 infants who were in home-based day care and 181 infants who were in center-based day care. The measurements were socio-emotional development scale and assessment scales for day care programs. Results indicated that, first, home-based day care did not significantly differ from center-based day care in terms of structure. Second, home-based day care were, to some degree, significantly different from center-based day care in the process: home-based day care had better play environment and play activities than did center-band day care. Lastly, there were significant differences in socio-emotional development among infants according to the type of day care: infants in home-based day care were more independent to their teacher and felt more secure in child care homes than was true for the infants in center-based day care.

노인주간보호서비스 이용 부양자의 삶의 질과 영향요인 (Factors Influencing the Quality of Life of Caregiver using Day Care Service)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing quality of life of caregivers using day care services. Methods: Data were collected from 14 different day care services in D city, with a total of 146 female caregivers as participants. All participants were at home caregivers whose patients were senior citizens older than 65. Data were collected from September 1 to 30 of 2008 and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Quality of life among caregivers of day care services differed significantly according to state of health, other caregivers, job, and family income. Quality of life among caregivers showed correlation with caregiving burden. The significant predictors affecting quality of life were state of health, other caregivers, job, and family income and caregiving burden. A combination of these predictors accounted for 43.5% of the variance in quality of life. Conclusion: These findings show that quality of life of family caregivers using day care services is influenced by caregiving burden. Development of day care service programs is necessary in order to reduce caregiving burden of family caregivers for the elderly.

보육보조금의 효과 분석: 영아기본보조금을 중심으로 (An Evaluation of a Basic Subsidy Program for Infants)

  • 보육보조금은 일반적으로 여성의 노동시장참여를 용이하게 해주려는 것과 아동이 양질의 보육 및 교육 환경에서 돌보아지는 것을 돕는 목표로 지급된다. 본 연구는 보육시설을 이용하는 영아가구에 보육료를 지원하는 영아기본보조금의 효과를 살펴봄으로써 영아기본보조금이 그 정책목표를 달성하고 있는지 검토한다. 기본보조금이 2006년 민간보육시설에만 도입되었고 유아는 제외하고 영아에게만 지급된다는 준실험적(Quasi-Experiment) 설정을 이용하여 시설 측면과 가구 측면의 효과를 분석한다. 분석 결과, 보조금으로 인해 영아의 이용비중이 높은 보육시설에서는 교사의 처우 및 시설환경이 개선되는 등의 효과가 나타났으나 여성의 노동공급에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않았고, 수요자의 보육만족도에도 부정적 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다.
