A management information system of the Nanji Islands National Marine Reserve is designed and constructed based on method of integration of remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS). The system consists of two sub-systems, dynamic monitoring information system and general database system. The former is used for storage and manage fundamental geographical data (topographical and bathymetric map), satellite remote sensing data (IKONOS, SPOT, IRS, NOAA and SeaWiFS etc.) and multimedia data. The latter is used for storage and manage resource data (shellfish and alga etc.), environmental data (meteorological and hydrologic) and in situ data. As part of electronic government, this system will be submitted to local government for monitoring, management and decision.

IoT devices are interconnected in global network with different functionalities and manage the data transfer in cloud computing. IoT devices can be used anytime, anywhere with any device with different applications and protocols. Same devices but different applications according to end user requirements such as sensors and Wi-Fi devices, reusability of these applications can enhance the development process. However, large number of variations in cloud computing make it difficult the features selection in application because of compatibility issues of devices. In this paper we have proposed multi-Software Product Lines (multi-SPLs) approach to manage the variabilities and commonalities of IoT applications and protocols. Feature modeling is used to manage the commonalities and variabilities of SPL. We proposed that multi-SPLs feature model is more appropriate for modeling of IoT applications and protocols.

In digital pathology, an electronic system in the biomedical domain storage of the files is a big constrain and because all the analysis and annotation takes place at every user-end manually, it becomes even harder to manage the data that is being shared inside an enterprise. Therefore, we need such a storage system which is not only big enough to store all the data but also manage it and making communication of that data much easier without losing its true from. A virtual server setup is one of those techniques which can solve this issue. We set a main server which is the main storage for all the virtual machines(that are being used at user-end) and that main server is controlled through a hypervisor so that if we want to make changes in storage overall or the main server in itself, it could be reached remotely from anywhere by just using the server's IP address. The server in our case includes XML-RPC based API which are transmitted between computers using HTTP protocol. JAVA API connects to HTTP/HTTPS protocol through JAVA Runtime Environment and exists on top of other SDK web services for the productivity boost of the running application. To manage the server easily, we use Tkinter library to develop the GUI and pmw magawidgets library which is also utilized through Tkinter. For managing, monitoring and performing operations on virtual machines, we use Python binding to XML-RPC based API. After all these settings, we approach to make the system user friendly by making GUI of the main server. Using that GUI, user can perform administrative functions like restart, suspend or resume a virtual machine. They can also logon to the slave host of the pool in case of emergency and if needed, they can also filter virtual machine by the host. Network monitoring can be performed on multiple virtual machines at same time in order to detect any loss of network connectivity.

Sptaio-temporal databases are important to store the real-time location information of large spatio-temporal objects efficiently and retrieve them rapidly. Accordingly necessity for spatio-temporal database system that can manage spatial information, aspatial information and temporal information of spatio-temporal objects is increasing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a spatio-temporal data model that is able to efficiently manage historical spatio-temporal objects that change dynamically their states as time. Also, various spatio-temporal operations and constraint conditions are defined to keep integrity of spatio-temporal data and spatio-temporal operations.

As the number of sensors in a ship has increased, studies have been actively conducted to efficiently manage a large amount of data. Sensors in a ship follow the NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) data format. In particular, NMEA0183 standardized as IEC 61162-1 and NMEA2000 standardized as IEC 61162-3 are widely used. NMEA0183 is a protocol based on serial communication and NMEA2000 is a protocol based on CAN (Controller Area Network) communication. We implemented a gateway that receives data from NMEA0183 sensors and NMEA2000 sensors and then transmits them to the server on TCP/IP network. By using the NMEA2000 0183/2000 gateway to receive the sensor data and manage it through the ship's preventive maintenance system, the sensor data can be utilized efficiently and promptly. This management can reduce crew's daily tasks and reduce the number of accidents.
In WSN(Wireless Sensor Network) environment, a large amount of sensors, which are small and heterogeneous, generates data stream successively in physical space. These sensors are composed of measured data and metadata. Metadata includes various features such as location, sampling time, measurement unit, and their types. Until now, wireless sensors have been managed with individual specification, not the explicit standardization of metadata, so it is difficult to collect and communicate between heterogeneous sensors. To solve this problem, OGC(Open Geospatial Consortium) has proposed a SensorML(Sensor Model Language) which can manage metadata of heterogeneous sensors with unique format. In this paper, we introduce a metadata model using SensorML specification to manage various sensors, which are distributed in a wide scope. In addition, we implement the metadata management module applied to the sensor data stream management system. We provide many functions, namely generating metadata file, registering and storing them according to definition of SensorML.
Due to explosive expansion in R & D efforts for advancement of technological predominance by Enterprises, the volume of technical information rapidly increases and emphasize on the valuation of this information has grown ever increasingly important. Therefore the requirement for systematic management and safeguard and accumulation of these intellectual properties of the Enterprise is in very high demand. A lot of effort and research has been carried out and many on going studies in progress to try to derive the optimum solution on how to manage information retention policy, processes, execution method, and hardware to execute the information with and etc. The intent of this thesis is to recommend a way for the Enterprise on how to evaluate the valuation of the data and to suggest the method on how to manage these intellectual properties by way of using Information Lifecycle Management theory which manages data according to the business valuation of the data. The decision on valuation of data and retention cycle is based on analytic method of a nonparametric regression, experimentation was carried out by applying to Enterprise Document Management System to present the suitable retention cycle according to the valuation and variety of attribute of data.

With the rapid development of computer, information and communication technologies, the production and distribution of digital contents among various kinds of networks have become more common. In such environment, we need to store and to manage efficiently a large volume of geograpruc data because the amount of geographic data grows faster and faster. In this paper, as a key solution to manage efficiently such a huge amount of geograpruc data, we adopt the mechanism which compresses only the difference between original and updated data with high compression ratio. By transferring highly compressed updated part only instead of the entire of geographic data, we can reduce the network traffic during the download of contents and service.

In this paper, we are going to explain the development of a platform that can integrate and manage various sensors and data by applying IoT standard technology to a smart city where various services exist. The structure was designed to integrate and manage various data through platform development and process the collected data according to the service. By designing a platform based on the LwM2M standard technology, it is possible to provide a function that can accommodate various devices.

Wireless sensor networks need middleware system for efficiently managing the constrained resource and sensing data because they need different sensing data type and protocol to communicate with heterogeneous sensor networks. Thus this paper proposes data-centric sensor middleware for heterogeneous sensor networks. The proposed middleware have to support various query processing of user applications, high-level request of users, manage heterogeneous sensor systems and universal sensing data type for node and user application.
