  • This paper describes the Utility Interactive PV (UIPV) system which can improve the peak-cut effect by adding an energy storage device of batteries to the power converter. The proposed system has three possible operation modes depending on relative condition of PV output, which can have the power shaping function covering the peak power for 3 hours. A new power circuit and an application algorithm have been applied to the UIPV system which is based on working PV system during a 3-hour peak time. The energy relationship by the proposed system is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. The proposed system is evaluated at the viewpoint of cost and total spacing, which enables the proposed UIPV system to have the reduction of the peak power demand and hence to improve the power capacity of peak cut.

  • This paper reports a filtered velocity feedback (FVF) controller, which is an alternative to direct velocity feedback (DVFB) controller. The instability problems due to high frequency response under DVFB can be alleviated by the suggested FVF controller. The FVF controller is designed to filter out the unstable high frequency response. The FVF controller and the dynamics of clamped beams under forces and moments are first formulated The effects of the design parameters (cut-off frequency, gain, and damping ratio) on the stability and the performance are then investigated. The cut-off frequency should be selected not to affect the system stability. The magnitude of the open loop transfer function (OLTF) at the cut-off frequency should be small. As increasing the gain of the FVF controller, the magnitude of the OLTF is increased, so that the closed loop response can be reduced more. The enhancement of the OLTF at the cut-off frequency is reduced but the phase behavior around the cut-off frequency is distorted, as the damping ratio is increased The control performance is finally estimated for the clamped beam. More than 10dB reductions in velocity response can be achieved at the modal frequencies from the first to eighth modes.

  • In this paper, adaptive home power peak-cut control system is developed using PLC. The developed scheme provides monitoring of power usage, power peak-cut control and additional function. In test bed, zone is presented by bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. And individual load is presented by lighting, heater and fan in zone. In developed scheme, zone control is implemented by single PLC modem. And individual load control is implemented by key-map table. In addition, power peak-cut control system S/W, which can perform setting of power peak, power peak-cut control and monitoring of power usage.

  • In the existing deterministic network, the capacity of each arc has determined property. But actually, it may be a property which cannot be determined. Even though it should be determining, it contains many errors. In treating these kinds of problems, fuzzy theory is suitable. Recently, due to development the study on complicated and indefinited systems which contain fuzziness could be possible. This paper includes that the capacity of each arc and the goal quantity with nonnegative integer have the fuzziness. The object is to search the new mathod of fuzzy maximal flow quantity. If the degree of arc membership function of the minimal cut part is not larger than that of arc membership function of the part except the minimal cut, first calcurate nonfuzzy maximal flow quantity, and then can compute the optimal quantity the 3rd step at one time with Max-Min fuzzy operating in the arc capacity of minimal cut and the goal quantity without a great number of recalculation.

  • In [8] they introduced a new finite element method for accurate numerical solutions of Poisson equations with corner singularities. They consider the Poisson equations with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition with one corner singularity at the origin, and compute the finite element solution using standard FEM and use the extraction formula to compute the stress intensity factor, then pose a PDE with a regular solution by imposing the nonhomogeneous boundary condition using the computed stress intensity factor, which converges with optimal speed. From the solution they could get an accurate solution just by adding the singular part. This approach uses the polar coordinate and the cut-off function to control the singularity and the boundary condition. In this paper we consider Poisson equations with multiple singular points, which involves different cut-off functions which might overlaps together and shows the way of cording in FreeFEM++ to control the singular functions and cut-off functions with numerical experiments.

  • A weighted linear combination of seismic fragility models previously developed for cut-and-cover railway tunnels was presented and the appropriateness of the combined model was evaluated. The seismic fragility function is expressed in the form of a cumulative probability function of the lognormal distribution based on the peak ground acceleration. The model uncertainty can be reduced by combining models independently developed. Equal weight is applied to four models. The new seismic fragility function was developed for each damage level by determining the median and standard deviation, which are model metrics. Comparing fragility curves developed for other bored tunnels, cut-and-cover tunnels for high-speed railway system have a similar level of fragility. We postulated that this is due to the high seismic design standard for high-speed railway tunnel.

  • In this paper, we present a survey about the various graph partition problems including the clustering problem, the k-cut problem, the multiterminal cut problem, the multicut problem, the sparsest cut problem, the network attack problem, the network disconnection problem. We compare those problems focusing on the problem characteristics such as the objective function and the conditions that the partitioned clusters should satisfy. We also introduce the mathematical programming formulations, and the solution approaches developed for the problems.

  • The Shape optimization makes it possible to reduce the weight of structure and cost then member sizing optimization. A vast amount of imprecise information is existed in constraints of the optimum design. It is very difficult and sometimes confusing to describe and to deal with the several criteria which contain fuzzy degrees of relatives importance. This paper proposed weighting strategies in the multiobjective shape optimization of fuzzy structural system by ${\alpha}$-cut approach. The algorithm in this research is numerically tested for 2-bar truss structure. The result show that. the user can choose the one optimum solution in practices as obtaining the optimum solutions according to the ${\alpha}$-cut approach, weight of volume and displacement.

  • In this paper, an algorithm for obtaining 2-state switching failure function and a terminal pair reliability evaluation method in a communication network are proposed. The communication network is modeled by a graph. By using the sequence of matrix transformations for the graph, minimal cut-set matrix representing all minimal cut-sets which completely interrupt the communication path is determined and 2-state switching failure function is then obtained from the minimal cut-set matrix. The terminal pari reliability of the communication network is evaluated by corresponding the random variables to 2-state switching failure function. Illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the algorithm. A computer program evaluating the terminal pair reliability in a complex and large network has also been developed.

  • It is very important thing to efficiently utilize the solar power. The conventional solar power system has no energy storage device. So the conventional system cannot cut the peak load. In this paper, the solar power system with the energy storage device and the operation algorithm of peak cut function was proposed to cut the peak load. The algorithm principle is proposed based on the insolation curve and load curve. The simulation and experiment was performed to demonstrate the validity of the peak cut algorithm.
