통계자료를 통한 국내 성조숙증 진료현황 분석 (An Increase of Patients Diagnosed as Precocious Puberty among Korean Children from 2010 to 2015)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of preventing precocious puberty. This study assessed current number of the patients with early puberty and their medical expenses from 2010 to 2015. Methods Using the data from Korean Statistical Information Service and Heathcare Bigdata Hub, number of patients diagnosed with precocious puberty by gender, age, and year from 2010 to 2015 were reviewed. Also, annual medical insurance expenses and the incidence of leuprorelin use were reviewed. Results Number of the patients with precocious puberty has increased from 29,251 in 2010 to 75,945 in 2015. Total medical insurance expenses have increased from 25,716,431 won in 2010 to 56,367,981 won in 2015. The use of lueprorelin also has increased annually from 11,097,590,000 won in 2010 to 21,617,585,000 won in 2015. Conclusions As a result, the patients diagnosed with precocious puberty are increasing in number, and their medical costs have been rising as well. It may be necessary to control the environmental causes of precocious puberty to reduce not only the physical and psychosocial health problems, but also the social costs.

수학 학습부진아 예방을 위한 가정학습 효율화 방안 연구 (A Study on a Home Teaching Method to Prevent Slow Learner in Elementary School Mathematics)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a specific set of home teaching methods in hopes to prevent slow learner of the elementary mathematics. This paper deals with the number and operations, one of five topics in the elementary mathematics A survey of two hundred elementary school teachers was made to see the teacher's opinions of the role of home studying and to concretize the contents of the research topics. There were asked which is the most essential contents for the concrete loaming and which is the most difficult monad that might cause slow leaner. And those were found to be; counting, and arithmetic operations(addition and subtraction) of one or two-digit numbers and multiplication and their concepts representations and operations(addition and subtraction) of fractions. The home teaching methods are based on the situated learning about problem solving in real life situations and on the active teaming which induces children's participation in the process of teaching and learning. Those activities in teaching each contents are designed to deal with real objects and situations. Most teaching methods are presented in the order of school curriculum. To teach the concepts of numbers and the place value, useful activities using manipulative materials (Base ten blocks, Unifix, etc.) or real objects are also proposed. Natural number's operations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication are subdivided into small steps depending upon current curriculum, then for understanding of operational meaning and generalization, games and activities related to the calculation of changes are suggested. For fractions, this paper suggest 10 learning steps, say equivalent partition, fractional pattern, fractional size, relationship between the mixed fractions and the improper fraction, identifying fractions on the number line, 1 as a unit, discrete view point of fractions, comparison of fractional sizes, addition and subtraction, quantitative concepts. This research basically centers on the informal activities of kids under the real-life situation because such experiences are believed to be useful to prevent slow learner. All activities and learnings in this paper assume children's active participation and we believe that such active and informal learning would be more effective for learning transfer and generalization.

농촌마을쉼터의 최소면적기준 설정에 관한 연구 -마을쉼터 조성현황과 주민의식(만족도) 조사를 중심으로- (A Study on the Minimum Size of Rural-Pocket Park)

  • Recently, The rural-pocket parks in Korea have been constructed for the recreation activities of the rural residents. The purpose of this study is to suggest planning guidelines focused on the minimum size. The methods used in this study are surveying the satisfaction of rural residents, analyzing the size of Rural-Pocket Parks recently constructed, and comparing with pocket parks in Seoul. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows : 1) The average size of rural-pocket park in Kyung-Ki province is 650square meters per village and 2.19square meters per capita. and the relation between current rural-pocket park size and the number of household can be described as The current Size of Rural-Pocket Park = 7 ㎡${\times}$ Number of Households 2) The minimum size based on the rural residents'satisfaction is 633square meters at the 62 households level, and can be described as The Size of Rural-Pocket Park = 10㎡ ${\times}$ Number of Households 3) The most required activities by the rural residents are relaxation, children's playing and sports. and the most required facilities are ‘Jung-Ja’and ‘Combined Playing facility’. 4) The size required to include the basic recreational facilities at the level of household 20, 50, 100 are 132square meters. 386square meters, 633square meters respectively. The size per household is 7square meters and can be described as 5) As conclusion about 7square meters per household is recommended for the minimum size of rural-pocket park. and at least 140square meters is required as minimum size of rural-pocket park for the basic recreational facilities.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze papers published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Child Health Nursing (JKACHN) to identify the current state of child health nursing research and recommend directions for future research. Methods: Using analysis criteria developed by the researchers, 233 papers published in JKACHN between 2005 and 2009 were reviewed. Results: Both quantity and quality of these papers showed significant improvement compared to before 2005. The number of published papers, the proportion of intervention studies, and studies that involved children directly as participants had increased. However, published papers still leave much to be desired. Quantitative studies were dominant (91.4%) and many of these studies were survey designs (65.7%). Children, especially young children were still less likely to be direct participants. All experimental studies were quasi or pre-experimental studies. There were few qualitative research studies. Conclusion: Findings of this study indicate that strengthening peer review according to review guidelines will improve the quality of published papers and promote JKACHN as an international journal. Instead of proxy accounts from parents or nurses, research involving direct accounts by children is needed. Child-friendly data collection methods need to be developed and used by child health nurse researchers.

The Efficacy of Visual Activity Schedule Intervention in Reducing Problem Behaviors in Children With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Between the Age of 5 and 12 Years: A Systematic Review

  • Objectives: Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) tend to be noisy and violate rules with their disruptive behaviors, resulting in greater difficulties with off-task behaviors and being at risk for social refusal. The visual activity schedule (VAS) intervention program is a frequently used method to teach multiple skills involving on-task, use of schedules, transition behaviors, social initiation, independent play skills, classroom skills, and academic skills. The current systematic review aimed to examine the efficacy of using VAS intervention in reducing problem behaviors in children with ADHD between 5 and 12 years of age. Methods: Systematic searches were conducted using two electronic databases (PubMed and Scopus) to identify relevant studies published in English between 2010 and 2020. Four studies met the inclusion criteria: two studies examined the effect of schedule-based tasks and the use of an iPad on classroom skills, while the other two examined randomized clinical trials (RCTs) of psychosocial treatment for ADHD inattentive type and a cross-sectional study examined the impact of the group size on task behavior and work productivity in children with ADHD. Results: The findings indicate that the interventions used in all four studies could lead to increased satisfaction among participants and parents, as well as a reduction in problem behavior. In terms of the research indicators, the RCT had low quality, while the others were of high quality. Conclusion: A larger number of studies and the ADHD clinical population would help to increase the generalizability of future reviews of treatments in this context.

한국사회 미혼모 지원정책의 패러다임 변화 (The Paradigm Shift of Social Policy for Unwed Mothers in Korea)

  • 전체 미혼모의 90% 이상이 입양을 선택했던 과거와 다르게, 최근 들어 자녀의 양육을 선택하는 미혼모가 눈에 띄게 증가하기 시작하였다. 이와 더불어 연령, 교육수준, 노동시장 참여 등의 인구사회학적 특성들도 과거에 비하여 전체적으로 향상되는 추세이다. 그러나 여전히 많은 미혼모들이 빈곤을 비롯하여 다양한 어려움을 호소하고 있다. 이는 오랜 사회적 편견과 차별 속에서 자녀 양육과 생계부양자의 역할을 동시에 수행하는 양육미혼모가 직면하는 어려움들은 개인적 특성의 발전 향상만으로 해결될 수 없으며, 미혼모의 자녀양육 지원을 위한 사회적 개입이 필요함을 보여준다. 이에 본 연구는 한국사회 미혼모 지원정책의 전개과정 및 패러다임의 변화를 살펴보고, 현재 미혼모 가족을 위해 제공되고 있는 정책의 현황과 한계를 전반적 정책 기조의 변화 속에서 검토하였다. 한국사회의 미혼모 정책은 2000년대 중반을 기점으로 기존의 입양 중심에서 미혼모의 자녀양육을 지원하는 쪽으로 패러다임 전환이 이루어진 것으로 관찰되었다. 그러나 현재 양육미혼모에게 제공되는 있는 사회적 지원의 수준은 정책기조의 변화에 미치지 못하고 있어, 미혼모가 자녀를 양육하기에는 아직도 상당한 어려움이 따르고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막 결론에서는 미혼모의 자녀양육을 효율적으로 지원하기 위한 정책적 함의를 제시하였다.

보육시설의 실외놀이 운영실태 및 교사 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Actual Condition and Teachers' Perception of Outdoor Play in Child Care Center)

  • This study will examine the current condition of outdoor play in child care centers and the overall perception of teachers on outdoor play in regards to its related programs and children's reaction to them. Through examining such issues, this study will provide the basic data that can be applied in planning appropriate outdoor play activities, programs and environments. For the study, we surveyed teachers and directors of child care centers using a structured questionnaire. The objects of the survey were 22 child care centers in Daejeon and Seoul, who agreed to conduct the survey. The survey was conducted from August 1 to September 30 2006; 220 copies were distributed, and 188 copies were collected. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: 1) The number of outdoor plays per week were on average 1~2 in most cases, although teachers believed the play should be done everyday. Outdoor play time was mostly 21~30 minutes, while teachers thought 31~40 minutes as appropriate. Children's reaction scored the highest when they played outdoors for 30 minutes every day with their teachers involved in the play. As a result, we have concluded that the appropriate outdoor play should be conducted everyday for 30~40 minutes. 2) Outdoor play was mostly conducted as part of the overall educational plan rather than a separate plan. Since outdoor play affects children's development as much as indoor play, there is a need for development of a specific and separate plan for various outdoor play programs. 3) The outdoor play program that was most often conducted was equipment play and sand play. This indicated the monolithic nature of the outdoor program. Given the fact that children enjoy outdoor plays a lot (M=4.71), various programs including adventure play, sensitive play, and carpenter play should be developed. 4) In outdoor play, the teacher's role included supervising and interacting with children. According to the survey, teachers had a good understanding of the importance on safety and supervising issues in outdoor plays. However they seemed to overlook the importance of having better programs and improving teacher's participation to the play. Despite the importance of outdoor play to children's development, the result shows that teachers have tendencies to limit and obstruct outdoor plays by emphasizing supervising and safety issues instead. 5) Children's safety should not be the only consideration for outdoor plays; teachers ought to better understand that children's development can be maximized by the play. Furthermore, there should be emphasis placed on the program development and teacher's participation; teacher's participation should actively encourage the interactions between a child and a teacher, as well as among children.

전라북도 지역아동센터 현황과 발전방안 (The Actual Condition and Development Direction of A Community Child Center)

  • 본 연구는 전라북도 지역아동센터 현황과 실태 및 서비스 수준을 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전라북도 지역아동센터는 2004년 이전 37개소 16.1%였으나 해마다 20~40개소씩 증가하여 왔다. 현재 지역아동센터는 신고제이기 때문에 정부지원이 시작된 이래 개소수가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 지역아동센터의 난립을 억제하고, 신설되는 지역아동센터의 경우는 일정수준 이상의 환경을 구비하도록 하기 위하여 신고제에서 허가제로의 전환을 적극 검토할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 전라북도 지역아동센터 225개소의 이용아동 총 수 6, 144명 중 일반아동이 1,711명 27.8%를 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 평가지표에서도 이용 아동 및 출석 영역의 점수가 낮게 나타났다. 일반아동과 취약계층 아동의 통합적 보호라는 점에서 바람직할 수 있으나, 지역아동센터의 정체성을 확보하고 사업목적에 맞는 운영을 할 수 있도록 세부 규정을 보완할 필요가 있다. 세째, 지역사회 유관기관 및 인적자원 활용 영역의 점수가 다른 지표 항목에 비교해서 낮은 점수를 보였다. 이는 전라북도 지역아동센터의 대부분이 자원봉사자는 활용하고 있지만 지역사회 연계사업이 활발하게 진행되지 못하기 때문이다. 시 군 구가 지역사회를 대상으로 지역아동센터의 기능과 역할을 홍보하고 지역의 전문 인력과 네트워크를 구축할 수 있도록 지원할 필요가 있다.

경기도 도시공원의 지정.조성 분석을 통한 개선방안 연구 (Recommendations for the Improved Urban Park Policy in Gyeonggi Province through Analyzing Designation and Creation Rationale)

  • This study aims at providing basic policy materials to build a basis for supplying and creating urban parks balanced across Gyeonggi province and improving the quality of life of residents through, an extensive analysis of all city parks in cities/counties in Gyeonggi province. The study result showed that first, the number of parks is only 40% of the adequate number and, thus, accessibility of Gyeonggi province residents to parks in neighborhoods is significantly low. Second, a proportion of park types in children's park, neighborhood park, urban nature park is 67% : 24% : 2%, which is adequate in Gyeonggi province as a whole. Third, as for the area of parks per resident, the area of designated park is $17.7m^2$/person, which is over three times of legal requirement in urban planning area ($6m^2$/person). However, created park area is only $5.6m^2$/person, which fails to meet the legal requirement. Fourth, when park area of each city was compared, the areas varied significantly across cities. The Gyeonggi provincial government needs to secure funds aggressively and accelerate setting up and expanding facilities at designated parks located within the current urban areas. The findings from this study should be used as important materials when developing supply & demand policies for urban parks in Gyeonggi province. The study implicates that independent park policies and management by each city/county as well as the establishment and management of a comprehensive park policy at a provincial level is significantly important.

장애아 모의 스트레스에 관한 연구 (Research on the Stress of Mothers of Disabled Children)

  • Many studies have shown that the parents of developmentally disabled children are adversely affected by the experience of raising a child of this type. However, the range of reactions to parenting a handicapped child is quite varied and is presumably affected by a wide variety of variables. This study examined a number of demographic and psychosocial variables to determine which particular combination could best predict the current level of stress and coping behavior of mothers. Among predictor variables, marital satisfaction and dysfunctional attitude are variables that I am particularly interested in which can mediate parental stress. Five variables are found to be related to the stress of mothers, that is, level of disability, level of needed help, marital satisfaction, type of disability, father's education level. Also variables that affect four different types of stress (which are four factors of QRS-F) are analysed and the results presented. Among these variables, some are pre-determined and some are intervenable. We should make an effort to make changes in those intervenable variables such as marital satisfaction, beliefs and attitude about disability, and level of needed help. In future research we need to search and clarify the beliefs and attitude that help mothers adjust to a life with a disabled child. Also governmental support and policy making to reduce the burden of these mothers should be accompanied as well.
