R & D Trend of The Traditional Fermented Foods in Korea (우리나라 전통발효식품(傳統醱酵食品)의 연구개발동향(硏究開發動向))

  • Korean traditional fermented foods have been diversely developed to enhance taste and flavor while preserving them on a long term basis. For those furthur utilization and development, more efforts to commercialize these products focusing to the consumer's needs should be proceded. In that sence, the fermented foods might be classified into the bioproduct (biofood) and the sterilized. The former defines the non-sterilized such as Kimchi, Jeotkal (fermented fishes), and Jang (fermented soybean products) so as to include various kinds of microorganisms, enzymes and the unknown bioproducts, while the latter defines the sterilized such as soysauce and vinegars proper to the commercialization. In this paper, present R & D status has been reviewed laying stress on Kimchi, Jeotkal and Jang and the mixed fermentation system by the microflora was suggested as a Korean style model for the future R & D direction in these fields.

  • Modern Art Furniture has been represented new idea and energy for futuristic furniture design by interacting and confronting with 3 points of view, which are; the idea and emotion of art, the form and concept of design, and the technique and materials of craft. Besides, meanings of modern Art Furniture are also can be described as followed. First, offend of concept of furniture design area to art, second, help to raise the social status of people by making art to be popularized, third, present a new direction of futuristic furniture design culture. Art Furniture design area, which has been trying to make a constant approach to human consideration and sensibility, leads new furniture design culture as an independent art genre in this 21st Century.

  • To analyse the royal marriage of Yi-Dynasty, the authors studied 'Kuk Hon Geong Rea', which is a historical record, published in 1749(King Yong-Jo), on the usage of marriage articles in the royal family. The essential steps or articles described in the record were as follows, Royal marriage of King : Wedding presents, black and red silks from the bridegroom's to bride's, proclamation of Queen and wedding ceremony(納采) (納徵) (冊妃) (親迎 尊雁 同牢). Royal marriage of Crown Prince : Wedding presents, black and red silks from the bridegroom's to bride's. proclamation of Crown Princess, wedding ceremony, and bride's gifts to her parents-in-law(納采) (納徵) (冊嬪) (親迎 尊雁 同牢) (朝見體). Royal marriage of Crown Princess : Wedding presents, black and red silks from the bridegroom's to bride's, wedding ceremony, bride's gifts to her parents-in-law(納采) (納徵) (尊雁 同牢) (見舅姑禮). Necessary articles for weddings were different according to royal status of the member in the royal family.

A Study on the Consumer′s Clothing Behavior Related to the Environmental Consciousness I

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of environmentally conscious consumer behavior, and to identify the influencing variables and causal relationship. Data were collected from questionnaires with 275 housewives who were residents of Seoul and Kyunggi-do. The major findings were as follows : (1) The level of environmentally conscious behavior differed significantly according to occupation, income, averaged monthly clothing expenses, residence type and residential area. (2) The consumer's clothing behavior related to the environmental consciousness differed significantly according to age, education, matrimonial status, income, average monthly clothing expenses, residence type and residential area. (3) The use of mass media differed significantly in the consumer's environmental consciousness.

  • This study explored the current supply status on Contents Technology R&D(research and development) and friendly function Game Industry targeting to elderly consumers. The game contents including the functional components are categorized the sixth category of CT R&D's fundamental planning. The function game targeting to elderly focused on emotional and physical recovering to barrier, user friendliness, simplicity and certainty of game performance. The purpose of game participation are health, well-being, psychological wellness and communication.   • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of shopping orientations on clothing purchasing behavior according to residence. The data was obtained from questionnaires filled out by 530 females living in Seoul and Jecheon. For data analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test, Cronbach's $\alpha$, Duncan's multiple range test and cluster analysis were used. For shopping orientation, five factors of orientation were found and labeled as hedonism, brand and store loyalty, conformity, economy and rationality factor. Based on five shopping orientation factors, women were classified into five clusters(self-centered and rational, recreational, economy and shopping low involvement, economical and conformative cluster). Each cluster showed significantly different clothing purchasing behaviors (problem recognition, information search and evaluative criteria) and had different demographic variables(age, income, marital status and school career). Finally, residence and shopping orientations have influenced various clothing purchasing behavior. In conclusion, residence was the important factor which influenced on shopping orientation and clothing purchasing behavior.

  • With the acceleration of globalization, China accounts for a larger part in the world economy. The Korea fashion brands that have entered into China are becoming more diverse and various and China has become a major market of Korea fashion brands. More than 100 Korea fashion brands rushed into Shanghai, gaining a lot of attention. Korea fashion brands have market strategies such as differentiation strategy, high price and diversification. Korea fashion brands have gained a large market share in China owing to their diversity of products and successful marketing strategy. In order to get more profit, they should make more efforts to increase their brands' awareness, getting more potential consumers.

  • This dissertation aims to study a role and importance of clothing as a visual transmission system, with investigating the system and structure of a pragmatics in a cinema costume and analyzing what the meaning of a pragmatics is, depending on the circumstance on the circumstance on the basis of pragmatics. It examines as an objective the clothes of Scarlett, a heroine in 'Gone with the Wind's film originated from the novel written by Margaret Mitchell. As a result of this study, the movie costumes demonstrate a purposed transmission medium as a describing tool governing comprehensive circumstances in the process of drama. The costume plays a significant role in delivering a meaning of a movie showing historical backgrounds, social situations, and psychological description, status, characteristics, tastes of characters by means of their costumes in the movie.

Fast food Consumption Patterns of College Students in Ulsan (울산 지역 대학생의 패스트푸드 이용실태에 관한 연구)

  • Food consumption patterns are predictors of nutritional status at all age levels and vary among and between different age groups. This study was designed to asses food habits and fast food eating patterns of college students in Ulsan area through questionnaries. Data from 330 useable forms was analyzed for percent differences, frequency of consumption, and statistical significance of differences between male and female students (T-test and chi square methods were utilized). Food habit score of female students was significantly higher than of male students. The reason for using fast food chain was 'convenience' or 'good taste'. The most preferred food by subjects was noodle or dumpling and least preferred food was pizza. In general, they had a higher satisfaction scores in taste and service of fast food and lower scores in amount and price of it. From this results it appears there is a need for developing domestic brand fast food to lower the price of fast food and giving the nutrition education for proper food selections and eating patterns.
