  • On October 29, 2022, a very large number of people gathered in Itaewondong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea for a Halloween festival, and as crowds pushed through narrow alleys, 159 deaths and 195 injuries occurred, making it the largest crushing incident in Korea. There have been a number of stampede deaths where crowds gathered at large-scale festivals, event venues, and stadiums, both at home and abroad. When the density increases, the physical contact between bodies becomes very strong, and crowd turbulence occurs when the force of the crowd is suddenly added from one body to another; thus, the force is amplified and causes the crowd to behave like a mass of fluid. When crowd turbulence occurs, people cannot control themselves and are pushed into he crowd. To prevent a stampede accident, investigation and management of areas expected to be crowded and congested must be systematically conducted, and related ministries and local governments are planning to establish a crowd management system to prepare safety management measures to prevent accidents involving multiple crowds. In this study, based on national data, a continuous digital topographic map is modeled in 3D to analyze the risk of crowding and present a plan for selecting high-risk walking routes. Areas with a high risk of crowding are selected in advance based on various data (numerical data, floating population, and regional data) in a realistic and feasible way, and the analysis is based on the visible results from 3D modeling of the risk area. The study demonstrates that it is possible to prepare measures to prevent cluster accidents that can reflect the characteristics of the region.

  • Fish schooling or group moving in cyber underwater is a part of beautiful and familiar ecosystem. It is not so easy to present the behavior of fish crowd naturally as a computer animation. Thanks to development of computer graphics in entertainment industry, the numbers of digital films and animations is increased and the scenes of numerous crowd are shown to us. Though there are many studies on the techniques to process the behavior of crowd effectively and the developments of crowd behavioral systems, there is not enough study on the development for an efficient crowd behavioral simulator. In this' paper, we smartly present the types offish behavior in cyber underwater and make up for the weak points of time and cost. We develop the fish schooling behavior simulator for the contents of cyber underwater, automating fish behavioral types realistically and efficiently.

  • This study conducted an experiment on the crowd walking speed, one of the factors for calculating the evacuation capacity of a building. The experiment was measured the crowd walking speed by factor of corridor width and Vulnerable People to Disaster. The result of experiment, it saw the decrease of crowd walking speed due to rate of Vulnerable People to Disaster. In the future, using this as basic data, it is considered that additional research is need to development Human Safetay Standards in Korea.

  • Crowd-funding platforms, which enable to collect funds from individuals, have recently gained growing interests around the world. This study intends to provide future research directions for the crowd-funding by reviewing past research works. For this purpose, two research themes are selected - (1) motivations to participate in crowd-funding and (2) critical success factors for the project funding. The motivations are analyzed from both perspectives of fund demanders and suppliers. The critical success factors are investigated by using four dimensions: fund demanders, fund suppliers, relationships between demanders and suppliers, and project characteristics. Using the implications found from the past research, this paper offers future research issues necessary for the growth of crowd-funding platforms.

  • Crowd behavior simulations have been studied to further accelerated and refined by parallelism by inducing agent-interacting forces into the image field representing the forces of attraction and repulsion. However, it was difficult to consider rapidly changing environments such as fire situations in buildings because texture images must be generated in advance simulation starts and simulations can only be performed in 2D spaces. In this paper, we propose a crowd agent behavior simulation method based on agent's 3D affordance field for flexible agent behavior in variable geomorphological environments in 3D space. The proposed method generates 3D affordance field related to agents and sensors in 3D space and defines the agent behavior in 3D space for the crowd behavior simulation based on an image-inducing field to a 3D space. Experimental results verified that our method enables the development of large-scale crowd behavior simulations that are flexible to various fire evacuation situations in 3D virtual spaces.

  • In recent times, an absence of effective crowd management has led to numerous stampede incidents in crowded places. A crucial component for enhancing on-site crowd management effectiveness is the utilization of crowd counting technology. Current approaches to analyzing congested scenes have evolved beyond simple crowd counting, which outputs the number of people in the targeted image to a density map. This development aligns with the demands of real-life applications, as the same number of people can exhibit vastly different crowd distributions. Therefore, solely counting the number of crowds is no longer sufficient. CSRNet stands out as one representative method within this advanced category of approaches. In this paper, we propose a crowd counting network which is adaptive to the change in the density of people in the scene, addressing the performance degradation issue observed in the existing CSRNet(Congested Scene Recognition Network) when there are changes in density. To overcome the weakness of the CSRNet, we introduce a system that takes input from the image's information and adjusts the output of CSRNet based on the features extracted from the image. This aims to improve the algorithm's adaptability to changes in density, supplementing the shortcomings identified in the original CSRNet.

It is easy for us to come in contact with the scenes appearing a lot of characters as digital films and animation works are increased gradually, owing to developing of computer graphics. Though the processing a scene of crowd and the behavior system of crowd, related to the processing techniques of crowd behavior in cyber space, have been implemented so far, the research for developing the natural crowd behavior simulator can not be still satisfying. • Recently, the e-business market has become a place of convergence where consumers and suppliers communicate with each other, and a new method of trading of funds has emerged in the process. Crowd-funding is one of the types of money transactions that have emerged in the online space, and its interest and trading volume have been growing rapidly recently. The platform in the online space using crowd-funding method operates in the form of online telecommunication sales, and it is in the form of producing and delivering products based on funds obtained from potential consumers by the operators involved in securing funds. However, if the participating business operators do not deliver the product or deliver the product other than the promoted product and avoid responsibility, the potential demander will not be compensated without mediation by the platform operating entity. In this study, despite the rapid growth in the market size of crowd-funding, consumers who participated in the funding are protected and able to resolve disputes in the event of a conflict amid growing complaints from potential consumers and side effects. The structure or method of crowd-funding is a new form of trading that has different features from conventional e-commerce. Therefore, the legal basis is not yet in place and the standards need to be laid out through various and sufficient discussions politically, legally, socially and culturally and economically. As the potential market and positive effects of crowd-funding around the world have been recognized, a role is required as an ecosystem for new financial transactions. And the potential market could be realized as a new industry if the right legal system and policy consultation were made.

  • This research is to compare factors which influence to mobilize police force necessary for crowd gathering occasions, and the purpose of this research is to prepare scientific basis for mobilization of police force by understanding order of priority of obstructive factors to mobilize police force for progressing safe crowd gathering occasions. Crowd gathering occasion has a characteristic that minor cause can lead to huge damage because many people concentrically gather at a specific place. In order to control these risks, it is necessary to analyze criteria on order of priority which can arouse risk to mobilize police force. In this research, I classified the factors influencing safety of crowd gathering occasion as internal risk factor, external risk factor and traffic safety threatening and set up the level of private security manpower and participants mobilized to crowd gathering occasion as independent variable and set up mobilized police force from 2013 to 2014 as dependent variable and analyzed it hierarchical analysis. From the result of analysis, the biggest influence to mobilization of police force for crown gathering occasion was the number of participants, and next self order-keeping agents and reason of mobilizing police force. Based on the result of analysis that the biggest factor to mobilize police force to crowd gathering occasion is the number of participants, it can be resulted that the number of participants influence to the risk of crowd gathering occasion.
