  • Projection microstereolithography is a process of fabricating a micro-structure by using dynamic mask such as digital micromirror device(DMD). DMD shapes the beam into cross-sectional image of structure. Photocurable resin is cured by the beam and stacked layer on top of layer. It is difficult to deliver the beam from the DMD to the photocurable resin without any distortions. We assume that the beam exposed to the resin by 1 pixel of DMD has Gaussian distribution, so the shaped beam reflected by the DMD affects its neighboring area. Curing pattern corresponding to a cross-sectional images is predicted by superposition of pixels of Gaussian distribution and it is similar to cured shape.

  • According to the returns of Housing and business cycle over the period 1992 to 2007, it is a measure of the total volatility faced by investors in Housing properties. First, it isn't a distinct difference from business cycle contrary to U.S. Second, the rise of purchase price in total apartments moves up the consumer price index. According to the cross-sectional dispersion of returns and growth in net operating income (NOI) of apartments, industrial, retail and office properties using panel data for U.S. metropolitan areas over the period 1986 to 2002, it is a measure of the total volatility faced by investors in commercial real estate. To the extent that most of that volatility is difficult to diversify, cross-sectional dispersion may be an appropriate measure of risk.

  • A cross sectional analysis for residential water demand was conducted to help understand and explain the spatial and temporal variations in per capita water use in the rapidly growing city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The analysis was based on data previously collected from May 1983 to June 1984. 195 randomly selected households were distributed to three groups according to house condition, household income level, and social and cultural factors. The generated models using stepwise multiple regression indicated that plot size and number of males, females and children are the most significant independent variables. Although, coefficients of determination achieved for most of the developed models were low (0.2-0.5), the independent variables could still explain a part of the variations fur such a complex social and cultural structure.

  • The stability of variable cross-sectional area HTS current lead is considered. The cross-sectional area is varied to have a constant safety factor which is defined as the ratio of operating current and critical current of superconductor. As the constant area HTS lead, the variable cross-sectional area HTS lead also has three steady states above the bifurcation point and only one steady state below the bifurcation point. The temperature profiles and current sharing ratios for each steady state are calculated. The heat dissipation into cryogenic system for super-conducting, intermediate, and upper states are compared. For Bi-2333 sheathed with silver-gold alloy 2m length of current lead, and the maximum temperature of upper state seems to be burn-out free below 5m length.

  • When a shock wave arrives at an open end of tube, an impulse wave is discharged from the tube exit and causes serious noise and vibration problems. In the current study, the effect of the cross-sectional area of tube on the impulse wave is numerically investigated using a CFD method. The Harten-Yee's total variation diminishing(TVD) scheme is used to solve the axisymmetric, two-dimensional, unsteady, compressible Euler equations. With three different cross-sectional areas of tube, the Mach number of the incident shock wave $M_{s}$ is varied between 1.01 and 1.5. The results obtained show that the directivity and magnitude of impulse wave strongly depend upon the Mach number of incident shock wave and are influenced by the tube area. It is also known that the tube cross-sectional area significantly affects the magnitude of impulse wave at or near the tube axis.

  • Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results selected one somatotype. for the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body, there dimensional clothing shapes measured. and cross-sectional clothing shape obtained by the measurement was considered to be space wave form. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form, and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. • This paper reports the characteristics of the three dimensional turbulent flow by numerical method in the 180 degree bends with increasing cross-sectional area. Calculated pressure and velocity, Reynolds stress distributions are compared to the experimental data. Turbulence model employed are low Reynolds number $textsc{k}$-$\varepsilon$ model and algebraic stress model(ASM). The results show that the main vortex generated from the inlet part of the bend maintained to outlet of the bend and vortices are continually developed at the inner wall region. The distribution of turbulent kinetic energy along the bend are increase up to 120$^{\circ}$ because of increment of cross-sectional area. Secondary flow strength of the flow is lower about 60% than that of square duct flow.

  • The spools in most hydraulic spool type control valve have several circumferential grooves to pre-vent well known hydraulic locking problems which result in high friction force and excessive wear. In this paper, a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, FLUENT is used to investigate the flow and lubrication characteristics of grooved hydraulic spool valve. The stream lines and pressure distributions are obtained for various groove cross sectional shapes and film thicknesses. The stream lines are highly affected by groove cross sectional shape but pressure distributions mainly depend on the film shape and its magnitude. Therefore the numerical method adopted in this paper and results can be use in designing of various grooved spool valve.

  • There is a lack of survey standard for cross-to-nature small stream. In this research, we analyzed cross sectional survey data of Sanggachun stream, calculated variant quantity of soil, and suggested a survey interval. Descriptive analysis of cross sectional survey data shows the trend of stabilization; mean interval of survey is 14.91m(min: 7.0m, max: 39m), mean cross sectional variances are $0.82m^2$(min: $-3.80m^2$, max: $8.11m^2$) in 2004, $0.24m^2$ (min: $-5.25m^2$, max: $8.55m^2$) in 2005. Calculating results of variance quantity based on data of 65 cross sections show similar trends in 15m, 30m, 45m, 60m but different with results of 75m, 90m with Post-Hoc Test in statistical verification. We suggested standard cross sectional survey length of cross section for natural style small stream as 50m based on fitting results of standard variation of erosion and cumulation quantity by survey interval.

  • The leak before break (LBB) concept is used in pipe line design for nuclear power plants. For application of the LBB concept, leak rates through cracks should be evaluated accurately. Usually leak late analyses are performed for through-thickness cracks with constant cross-sectional area. However, the cross-sectional area at the inner pipe surface of a crack can be different from that at the outer surface. In this paper, leak rate analyses are performed for the cracks with linearly-varying cross-sectional areas. The effect of varying the cross-sectional area on leak rates was examined. Leak rates were also evaluated for cracks in bi-material pipes. Finally, the effects of crack surface morphology parameters on leak rates were examined.
