It has been reported that the creep characteristics on weldment which is composed of weld metal(W.M), fusion line(F.L), heat-affected zone(HAZ), and base meta(B.M) could be unpredictably changed in severe service conditions such as high temperature and high pressure. However, the studies done on creep damage in power plant components have been mostly conducted on B.M and not the creep properties of the localized microstructures in weldment have been thoroughly investigated yet. In this paper, it is investigated the creep characteristics for three microstructures like coarse-grain HAZ(CGHAZ), W.M, and B.M in X20CrMoV121 steel weldment by the small punch-creep-(SP-Creep) test using miniaturized specimen(l0×10×0.5mm). The W.M microstructure possesses the higher creep resistance and shows lower creep strain rate than the B.M and CGHAZ. In the lower creep load the highest creep strain rate is exhibited in CGHAZ, whereas in the higher creep load the B.M represents the high creep strain rate. The power law correlation for all microstructures exists between creep rate and creep load at 600℃. The values of creep load index (n) based on creep strain rate for B.M, CGHAZ, and W.M are 7.54, 4.23, and 5.06, respectively and CGHAZ which shows coarse grains owing to high welding heat has the lowest creep loade index. In all creep loads, the creep life for W.M shows the highest value.

The thermomechanical control process(in hot rolling strip mill) was employed to produce 2.25Cr-1Mo steel, which is to be construction material for the steam generator for power plant. Although the Conventional processes has been the primary means of producing the 2.25Cr-1Mo steel, an alternative method was used to meet the specification of ASTM heat treatment for A387-22-Classl using autotempering after coiling in hot rolling strip mill. The microstructures, tensile properties at various temperatures, and creep-rupture properties have been investigated to compare the properties with those of materials produced by the conventional process and to certify the application of the thermomechanical control process to an actual process of manufacturing 2.25-Cr-1Mo steel, this in turn, will reduce the cost of the process. About 14 to 34% glanular bainite (remainder proetectoid ferrite) formed in a coil, and this variety of volume fraction stems from the different cooling rates, which varies with position of the coil after coiling. Tensile testing from room temperature to 700$^{\circ}C$ indicated that strength increases with test temperature showing peaks at around 600$^{\circ}C$. Creep-rupture properties have been being investigated at the temperature of 500$^{\circ}C$ with 27.5, 32kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$ loads and have showed no rupture for over 1000 hours.

In this study, shear punch-creep (SP-Creep) at Sn-4Ag/Cu pad the joint was tested by using environment-friendly Pb-free solder alloy Sn-4Ag of electronic components. Pb eutectic alloy (Sn-37Pb) joints limited to environmental issues with reflow time (10sec, 30sec, 100sec, 300sec) according to two types of solder alloy joints are compared and evaluated by creep strain rate, rupture time and IMC (Intermetallic Compound) behavior. As the results, reflow time increases with increasing thickness of IMC can be seen at overall 100sec later in case of two solder joints on the IMC thickness of Sn-4Ag solder joints thicker than Sn-37Pb solder joints. In addition, when considering creep evaluation factors, lead-free solder alloy Sn-4Ag has excellent creep resistance more than Pb eutectic alloy. For this reason, the two solder joints, such as in the IMC (Cu6Sn5) was formed. However, the creep resistance of Sn-4Ag solder joints was largely increased in the precipitation strengthening effect of dispersed Ag3Sn with interface more than Sn-37Pb solder joints.

This paper investigates the influence of aging time on creep properties via a small punch creep test and evaluates the microstructural change of P122 steel at $600^{\circ}C$. The area fraction of precipitates was quantitatively analyzed to identify the relationship between the creep rupture life and precipitates was coarsening behavior of precipitates along the grain boundaries was also investigated for various aging times. It is found that this coarsening behavior led to a loss of solution hardening and rewulte in a hardness drop and a reduction of creep life.
In the life assessment for plant structural component, the research on deterioration of toughness and material properties occurred in weldments has been considered as very important problems. In general, the microstructures composed in weldments are hugely classified with weld metal(W.M), fusion line(F.L), heat affected zone(HAZ), and base metal(B.M). It has been reported that the creep characteristics on weldments having variable microstructures could be unpredictably changed. Furthermore, it is also known that HAZ adjacent to F.L exhibits the decreased creep strength compared to those in base or weld metals, and promotes the occurrence of Type III and Type IV cracking due to the growth of grains and the coarsening carbides precipitated in ferritic matrix by welding and PWHT processes. However, the lots of works reported up to date on creep damage in power plant components have been mostly conducted on B.M and the creep properties on a localized microstructures in weldments have not as yet been throughly investigated. In this paper, for various microstructures such as coarse grain HAZ(CGHAZ), W.M and B.M in X20CrMoV121 steel weldment, the small punch-creep(SP-Creep) test using miniaturized specimen(t=0.5mm, 0.25mm) is performed to investigate a possibility for creep characteristics evaluation.

As a measure of improving the mechanical properties of a diffusion bonded joint of a ferritic/martensitic steel (FMS), the post-bonding heat treatment (PBHT) is applied. In the temperature range of normalizing condition ($950-1,050^{\circ}C$), diffusion bonding is employed with compressive stress (6 MPa). Due to the martensite structure distributed in the matrix, Vicker's hardness values of the as-bonded are much higher than those of the as-received. Through the PBHT for 1 h at $720^{\circ}C$, hardness values are recovered to as low as those of the as-received condition. Also, tensile properties of PBHT are similar to those of the as-received at up to the test temperature of $550^{\circ}C$, when the diffusion bonding is carried out over $1,000^{\circ}C$. Based on the creep-rupture testing performed at $650^{\circ}C$ in air environment, the joint efficiency of the PBHTed specimens is about 80% in, which is higher than that of the as-bonded specimens.
The effect of Ni-rich phase on the stress-rupture properties of Ni mlcroalloyed W were studied using direct load creep tester at 100$0^{\circ}C$, 110$0^{\circ}C$, and 120$0^{\circ}C$ in $H_2.$ The stress rupture strength of 100hrs. of W-0.4wt% Ni was 43% higher at 100$0^{\circ}C$ and 35% higher at 110 $0^{\circ}C$than that of W-0.2wt% Ni due to the larger initial grain size, the higher relative density and the higher grain growth during test. That of W-0.8wt% Ni was 90% higher at 100$0^{\circ}C$ and 60% higher at 110$0^{\circ}C$ than that of W-0.2wt% Ni. The activation energy of W-0.4wt% Ni for creep was 81.3 Kcal/mole. It was considered that creep deformation was controlled by the diffusion of W in the Ni rich phase between the grains and the deformation of grains. All of the specimens showed intergranular fracture by grain boundary cavitation and growth of cavity throughout the entire spcimen cross-section.

Worldwide movement for prohibition of Pb usage drives imminent implementation of Pb-free solders in microelectronic packaging industry. Reliability information of Pb-free solders has not been completely constructed yet. One of the potential reliability concerns of Pb-free solders is allotropic transformation of Sn known as tin pest. Volume increase during the formation of tin pest could deteriorate the reliability of solder joints. It was also reported that the addition of soluble elements (i.e. Pb, Bi, and Sb) into Sn can effectively suppress the tin pest. However, the mechanical properties of the tin pest resistant alloys have not been studied in detail. In this study, lap shear creep test was conducted with Sn and Sn-0.7Cu based solder alloys doped with minor amount of Bi or Sb. Shear strain rates of the alloy were generally higher than those of Sn-3.5Ag based alloys. Rupture strains and corresponding Monkman- Grant products were largest for Sn-0.5Bi alloy and smallest for Sn-0.7Cu-0.5Sb alloy. Rupture surface Sn-0.5Bi alloy showed highly elongated $\beta$-Sn globules necked to rupture by shear stresses, while elongation of $\beta$-Sn globules of Sn-0.7Cu-0.5Sb alloy was relatively smaller.
This paper studied the possibility to predict a mechanical property variation from changes in created carbonyl bands by irradiating the surface of high-density polyethylene with short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation of 254 nm to induce a fast chemical degradation. The meaning of this study lies in checking whether a mechanical property change with the same chemical property as the induced optical deterioration is caused by using a UVC lamp with high photon energy instead of optical deterioration via xenon arc light source and outdoor exposure test via natural sunlight requiring a long time. The mechanical strength of high-density polyethylene checked by a tensile test and a creep destruction test showed a similar tendency with CI changes. In particular, the yield strength and elongation had a close relationship with the exposure time to ultraviolet radiation. Accordingly, this paper presented a method to grasp the mechanical property change outdoors requiring a long time more fast through the relationship between the mechanical property change and the carbonyl index using a UVC lamp causing the fast surface degradation.
