한국의 서비스업에서 기술혁신전략이 고용에 미치는 영향 - 기업수준의 연구 (Innovation and Employment in Korean Service Sector - A firm Level Analysis)

  • 한국의 서비스산업을 대상으로 기술혁신이 고용에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 기술우위혁신전략과 비용우위혁신전략이 고용에 미치는 영향이 서비스업의 섹터별로 어떻게 다르게 나타나는지를 기업수준에서 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석모형은 Bogliacino와 Pianta(2010)의 연구모형에 기반하고 있으며 자료는 과학기술 정책연구원(STEPI)의 서비스업기술혁신조사표(2006)를 이용하였다. 실증 분석결과를 살펴보면, 모든 섹터의 기업에서 수요증가가 고용증가에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고 일부섹터 기업에서는 기술혁신전략이 고용증가에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 과학 기반형 기업에서는 기술우위혁신전략이 고용에 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며, 전문공급자형 기업에서는 비용우위혁신전략이 고용에 부정적인 영향을 주었다. 규모 및 정보집약형 기업에서는 임금증가율이 고용에 부정적인 영향을 주었으며, 공급자지배형 기업에서는 수요증가만이 고용증가에 강한 긍정의 영향을 주었는데 이들 두 섹터의 기업들에서는 비용우위 혹은 기술우위의 혁신전략이 모두 고용에 유의미한 영향을 주지 못하였다. 한국의 서비스업을 대상으로 한 기업수준의 분석에서도 이처럼 산업유형의 특성에 따라 서비스기업들은 기술혁신의 고용효과가 달랐는데 비교적 혁신수준이 높은 과학기반형기업들과 전문공급자형 기업들은 유럽 주요국과 동일한 양상으로 혁신의 고용효과를 보였으나 나머지 유형의 기업들은 혁신수준이 현저하게 떨어지므로 혁신전략자체가 고용에 유의미한 영향을 주지 못한 것으로 보인다.

  • 전 세계적으로 기후변화에 대응하기 위한 노력이 본격화되는 가운데, 그동안 관심이 적었던 항만으로부터의 탄소배출량이 상당량에 이르고 이의 억제를 위한 노력이 LA/LB(Los Angeles/Long Beach)항만을 중심으로 선진항만에서 전개되고 있다. 우리나라는 최근 Green Port 전략의 일환으로 부산항에서 저탄소 항만운영정책이 강화되고 있다. 저탄소 항만운영은 단기적으로 항만비용을 증가시켜 가격경쟁력을 약화시킨다. 따라서 부산항의 경우 저탄소 항만운영으로 인한 비용을 항만이용자에게 부담시키지 않고 항만당국이 저탄소를 위한 정책을 시행하고 비용을 부담하고 있다. 반면 LA/LB의 경우 저탄소 항만운영의 비용을 선주 및 화주 등 항만이용자에게 부담시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 부산항과 LA/LB항의 저탄소 항만운영에 관한 비교분석을 통해 부산항의 지속가능한 항만운영의 시사점을 제시하였다.

한국 의류산업의 국제경쟁력 위상 변화와 수출 특성 연구 (International Competitiveness and Export Features for Korea's Clothing Industry)

  • During 40 years, clothing industry which took a charge of a pivotal role to lead Korea's economy development falls in a harsh state to maintain an international competitiveness by means of low wage-based-export and tech-deficit-past competitive advantage. From January first 2005 when the World Trade Organization started that developed countries abolished import quota on textile and apparel products. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze Korea's apparel international market share, grasp Korea's apparel international competitiveness position, and examine the export features to enhance international competitiveness. We targeted members of Korea Apparel Industry Association among the 500's exporters of textile and clothing items in 'The Import and Export Textile Product 2003' Total 70 sheets were used of final data analyzing. Also, the statistical data of WTO wereselected for inquiry about the position of international competitiveness of clothing products made in Korea. First, the comparative analysis of the amount of export and international market share of each country's clothing products to capture the position of Korea's international competitiveness of clothing industry under the statistical data of WTO showed that Korea's international market share has been decreasing since 1989, and ranked in the 19th showing 1.31% in 2004. Second, as concerned with Korea's clothing export features, the experience of clothing companies in Korea was uniformly distributed like less than 10 to 30 and more than 30 years and knitted and woven male and female wears which cost mid price were exported to U.S.A. and Europe and Japan. Export items wereusually manufactured by Original Equipment Manufacturing way and directly exported through an exclusive responsible part for export.

국내 단기소득임산물의 국제경쟁력 분석 (An Analysis of the International Competitiveness in the Non-Timber Forest Products in Korea)

  • 국내 단기소득임산물의 국제경쟁력을 비교 분석하기 위하여 현시비교우위지수, 시장비교우위지수, 불변시장점유율 분석을 실시하였다. 2002년부터 2006년까지의 5년간 자료를 분석한 결과, 대부분의 품목이 국제경쟁력을 상실하고 있었다. 그러나 밤의 경우 RCA 및 MCA 지수가 과거에 비해 떨어지고 있으나 여전히 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 국내 단기소득임산물은 국제경쟁력이 취약하여 현재 추진되고 있는 한 중 FTA 및 DDA 협상에 따라 수입이 크게 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 단기소득임산물의 경쟁력 제고를 위해서는 생산 비용을 낮추고, 상품의 부가가치를 높이기 위한 지속적인 기술개발에 대한 정책적 지원 강화가 요구된다.

부산시 연안 어선어업 경영체의 성공요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Success Factors of Coastal Fisheries in Busan Region)

  • Due to the environmental changes such as decreasing and aging fishing population and increasing imported marine products, improvement of fishing business competitiveness has become one of important issues. This study aimed to analyze the coastal fishing business units in Busan region and compare their business performances in order to find out success factors. The logistic regression analysis between 4 determination factors of competitiveness and business performances showed that the ship tonnage in the factor conditions, catch of species of fishing types'kg per price in the demand conditions, cooperative sales ratio in the related & supporting industries, and net per cost in the firm strategy, and structure & rivalry had the positive(+) impacts on business performances.

한국 소프트웨어 산업의 수출 경쟁력 제고를 위한 인력양성 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Human Resources for International Competition Power to Software Industry in Korea)

  • This thesis is designed to draw up scheme for human resources development of the Korean software industry. Its concrete scheme is as follows. That is, IT professionals with international competitiveness should be cultivated, and a human resource development system, which can flexibly meet the market demands, has to be built. Pool of specialized programmers is necessary condition for achieving competitiveness in Korean software industry. Reeducation is also desirable to embody the agile productive capability into the existing human resources for new challenges in the industry. Well-organized human resources database will also make it easy to match new demand and to lower the transaction cost in switching jobs. To cope with the rapidly changing environment actively, human resource development and training system improvement through the cooperation with the concerned industries, universities, research centers and the government must be settled immediately.

한국 패션기업의 세계화 추세 연구 (Globalization Trends of Korean Fashion Enterprises)

  • This research was conducted to find out what the general globalization trends of Korean fashion enterprises are, and what the factors required the Korean fashion enterprises to improve the global competitiveness under the globalized circumstances are. The data were collected from the survey by questionnaire on Korean leading fashion enterprises and the Directory of Companies Branching out abroad in 2000/2001(Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, 2000). The Results of the research are as follows: first, Korean fashion enterprises expanded evenly worldwide in the sales and distribution functions while relying heavily on Asian countries for manufacturing functions; Secondly, the globalization of Korean leading fashion enterprises was progressed, but still remains at the stage of the sales of manufacturing capability or the sales of low costs products rather than at the stage of manufacturing products of high added-value or the sales of design or marketing capability. Thirdly, the factors for the global competitiveness of the Korean fashion enterprises are related to capability of low cost, quick response, product development, marketing, internationalization and high value added.

한국 부품공급업체 생산혁신전략 유형이 경쟁력에 미치는 영향 (A Study on Competitiveness of Korean Components Manufacturers under the Types of Innovation Strategies)

  • This study has empirically analyzed the competitive strategies of the Korean component manufacturers. To differentiate the competitive strategies, the study employed two indexes: degree of support from customer firms and degree of internal innovation process. The performance measures include cost, quality, delivery and flexibility. 115 questionnaires were finally collected from the Korean part manufacturers and used for the final analyses. ANOVA, Chi-squared tests and t-tests were employed for statistical analyses. There are two major findings in this study. First, both internal innovation and external support from customers are equally important to improve manufacturing competitiveness of Korean component manufacturers. Second, strategic path to improve competitiveness of Korean component manufacturers is as follows: focusing on internal innovation ${\rightarrow}$ seeking for formal relationship with customers ${\rightarrow}$ pursuing external support from customers.

  • To get competitiveness in international markets, it is essential to provide low acquisition, maintenance and operation cost with high reliability, availability and maintainability. It can be achieved by lowering development cost, making proper maintenance planning and scheduling strategies, allocating man power and logistic cost properly. In this paper, we introduces the research on making a model for estimating the life cycle cost of newly developing magnetic levitation train system in Korea. To develop a proper life cycle cost model, we broadly analyzed specs and standards and compared the life cycle cost model developed in other country. Finally, we suggests strategies to develop an unique model for the magnetic levitation train system developing in Korea.

  • Quality is a critical competitive factor in today's environment because of the impact of quality on market share, productivity and costs. Especially in Korean companies, the importance of quality is heightened as they are losing price competitiveness compared to the new industrialized countries. The traditional approach to quality improvement has been focused on workers. The primary means to achieving acceptable outgoing quality has been to inspect quality by adding more inspectors and inspection stations. This is an example of quality cost that can be reduced through the preventive actions against bad quality. Quality cost is best viewed as a measure of costs specifically associated with the achievement or nonachievement of product/service quality required by customers. This paper examines the concept of quality cost, provides guidance to implementing a quality cost system, and identifies the limitations of quality cost information. These limitations are the target for future research for an efficient and effective implementation of quality cost system.
