Management systems for electronic library have been developed on the basis of Client/Server or ASP framework in domestic market for a long time. Therefore, both service provider and user suffer from their high cost and effort in management, maintenance, and repairing of software as well as hardware. Recently in addition, mobile devices like smartphone and tablet PC are frequently used as terminal devices to access computers through the Internet or other networks, sophisticatedly customized or personalized interface for n-screen service became more important issue these days. In this paper, we propose a new scheme of integrated management system for electronic library based on SaaS and Web Standard. We design and implement the proposed scheme applying Electronic Cabinet Guidelines for Web Standard and Universal Code System. Hosted application management style and software on demand style service models based on SaaS are basically applied to develop the management system. Moreover, a newly improved concept of duplication check algorithm in a hierarchical evaluation process is presented and a personalized interface based on web standard is applied to implement the system. Algorithms of duplication check for journal, volume/number, and paper are hierarchically presented with their logic flows. Total framework of our development obeys the standard feature of Electronic Cabinet Guidelines offered by Korea government so that we can accomplish standard of application software, quality improvement of total software, and reusability extension. Scope of our development includes core services of library automation system such as acquisition, list-up, loan-and-return, and their related services. We focus on interoperation compatibility between elementary sub-systems throughout complex network and structural features. Reanalyzing and standardizing each part of the system under the concept on the cloud of service, we construct an integrated development environment for generating, test, operation, and maintenance. Finally, performance analyses are performed about resource usability of server, memory amount used, and response time of server etc. As a result of measurements fulfilled over 5 times at different test points and using different data, the average response time is about 62.9 seconds for 100 clients, which takes about 0.629 seconds per client on the average. We can expect this result makes it possible to operate the system in real-time level proof. Resource usability and memory occupation are also good and moderate comparing to the conventional systems. As total verification tests, we present a simple proof to obey Electronic Cabinet Guidelines and a record of TTA authentication test for topics about SaaS maturity, performance, and application program features.
Anaerobic digestion has been widely used for the treatment of sludge, which is generated from the municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, for its volume reduction and methane production. Many researches on sludge pre-treatment have been carried out in order to enhance the performance of anaerobic digestion by increasing the hydrolysis of sludge which is the rate limiting step of anaerobic digestion. In this study, the effect of pre-treatment on sludge hydrolysis(solubilization), methane production and sludge reduction by anaerobic digestion after thermal, ultrasonic, and thermal-alkali sludge treatment were compared. Thermal-alkali treatment showed 67 and 70% solubilization with municipal and industrial wastewater sludge, respectively, while ultrasonic treatment and thermal treatment gave similar solubilization efficiency of 40% or more. Methane content of the anaerobic digestion gas reached 45~70% and pretreated sludge gave higher methane content than the control sludge. Methane production of thermal, ultrasonic, and thermal-alkali pre-treatment gave 2.6, 2.7, 3.5 times of municipal control sludge and 3.5, 4.1, 4.2 times of industrial control sludge, respectively. Sludge reduction of pre-treated sludge after anaerobic digestion gave 5~19% point higher than that of control sludge, and thermal-alkali treatment showed higher reduction efficiency than thermal and ultrasonic treatment. The results proved that pre-treatment contributed significantly not only for the methane production but also for the cost reduction of sludge treatment and disposal, and thermal-alkali treatment gave the best performance for the sludge treatment.
In this study, design and performance of infiltration trench using woodchip as media for treating stormwater from highway were examined through field monitoring. Average reduction efficiency for TSS, COD, BOD, TN, and TP was 88%, 94%, 85%, 80%, and 75% respectively, which is similar to values reported by other studies and design manuals even though direct comparison is not possible due to different monitoring and design conditions. Mean field infiltration rate estimated by measuring the change of water depth inside the observation well was about 40mm/hr, and the time taken for complete infiltration was about 0.83days, which corresponds well with design criteria recommended by MOE guidelines in Korea. In addition, according to analysis of infiltration rate and reduction efficiency, effective rainfall depth applied for determining water quality volume(WQv), 5mm was found to be properly established as design criteria. Woodchip must be considered and included as an alternative media together with crushed rock and gravel into the design guidelines because it has more advantages in terms of weight, porosity, cost, and easiness of management than other media materials.
Korea has been doing a two-port system as a main port development policy and developing the port of Busan and Gwangyang as the transshipment hubs in the northeast Asia. However, the growth rate of the transshipment container volume of the Gwangyang port in 2007 was sharply dropping more than 31.4%. The reasons why reduced the growth rate of transshipment cargo were from the port development in north China and the direct callings of ships. Therefore, it is time to evaluate the transshipment hub port policy of Korea. This study would recognize the decision criteria of shipping companies as customers for the transshipment hub in the northeast Asia by the AHP methodology based on Lirn et al. (2004). It has been known the costs of shipping companies and port location as the main first tier criteria for transshipment ports, and container handling charges, closeness to the main navigation route, carriers' strategy, and nearness to the feeder ports as the important second tier factors. Finally, the domestic terminal operating companies would focus on only a few attributes including the terminal cost factor, but the international shipping companies would be considering more several factors than they do. Therefore, the transshipment port strategy should be enriched in the near future.

In road network, especially in urban area, inefficiency of travel time is caused by signal control and turn maneuver at intersection and this inefficiency has substantial effects on travel time. When searching for the shortest path, this inefficiency which is caused by turn maneuver must be considered. Therefore, travel time, vehicle volume and delay for each link were calculated by using simulation package, PARAMICS V5.2 for adaptation of turn penalty at 16 intersections of Gangnam-gu. Turn penalty was calculated respectively for each intersection. Within the same intersection, turn penalty differs by each approaching road and turn direction so the delay was calculated for each approaching road and turn direction. Shortest path dealing with 16 intersections searched by Dijkstra algorithm using travel time as cost, considering random turn penalty, and algorithm considering calculated turn penalty was compared and analyzed. The result shows that by considering turn penalty searching the shortest path can decrease the travel time can be decreased. Also, searching the shortest path which considers turn penalty can represent reality appropriately and the shortest path considering turn penalty can be utilized as an alternative.

Traffic Density is the most important of the three primary macroscopic traffic stream parameters, because it is most directly related to traffic demand(Traffic Engineering, 2004). It is defined as the number of existing vehicles within a given distance at a certain time. However, due to weather, road conditions, and cost issues, collecting density directly on the field is difficult. This makes studies of density less actively than those of traffic volume or velocity. For these reasons, there is insufficient attempts on divers collecting methods or researches on the accuracy of measured values. In this paper, we used the 'Density Measuring System' based on the synthesise technology of several camera images as a method to measure density. The collected density value by the 'Density Mesuring System' is selected as the true value based on the density define, and this value was compared with the density calculated by the traditional measurement methods. As a result of the comparison, the density value using the fundamental equation method is the closest to the true value as RMSE shows 1.8 to 2.5. In addition, we investigated some issues that can be overlooked easily such as the collecting interval to be considered on collecting density directly by calculating the moment density and the average density. Despite the actual traffic situation of the experiment site is LOS B, it is difficult to judge the real traffic situation because the moment density values per second are observed max 16.0 (veh/km) to min 2.0 (veh/km). However, the average density measured for 15 minutes at 30-second intervals was 8.3-7.9 (veh/km) and it indicates precisely LOS B.
At these day, owing to functional limitations and cost issues, used image map in web service have a problem which can not make exactly meet the user needs. This study aims to create an individual map for user suitable purposes using HTML5 technology that implement the vector map creation and its functions with services. The results of this study, the invisible problems of the tilting and rotation functions in image-based map utilizing the existing web environment were solved in HTML5 vector map. And to access the map information, by implementing the function of expressing the background and name data to selectively derive, various results were expressed in the map. Also, as a result of a comparison of performance the time required was measured at 0.88sec which comes in the range of the first loading time between 0.78sec and 7.56sec in a commercial map service, which showed the possibility of its commercialization. compared to 180GB of image maps for the production of a national map index system, the volume to produce a vector map was 2.5GB, a decrease by over 90%, which solved the issue of costs for a storage space. As a result, this study of HTML5 vector map design and implementation presented a plan for providing information suitable for the requirements of the users who use spatial information through utilizing a variety of information and expanding functions.
Highways are characterized by high non-point pollutant emissions due to high traffic volumes and sections that cause abrupt change in driving speed (i.e. rest stations, ticketing office, etc.). Most highways in Korea were constructed with layers that do not allow adequate infiltration. Moreover, non-point pollution reduction facilities were not commonly installed on domestic highways. This study was conducted to evaluate a facility treating highway runoff and develop a cost-effective design for infiltration facilities by using soil amendment techniques. Performing soil amendment increased the hydraulic retention time (HRT) and infiltration rate in the facility by approximately 30% and 20%, respectively. The facility's efficiency of removing non-point pollutants (Total Suspend Soiled (TSS), Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD), Biological Oxygen Demand(BOD), Total Nitrogen (TN) and Total Phosphorus, (TP) were also increased by 20%. Performing soil amendment on areas with low permeability can increase the infiltration rates by improving the storage volume capacity, HRT, and infiltration area. The application of infiltration facilities on areas with low permeability should comply with the guidelines presented in the Ministry of Environment's Standards for installation of non-point pollution reduction facilities. However, soil amendment may be necessary if the soil infiltration rate is less than 13 mm/hr.
As the appearance of very high speed telecommunication network, volume of network, is enlarged and complicated, management of the various network equipments and hosting systems become more complicated and significant. Recently, there have been various researches on network management system that is capable of managing and operating the network environment based on SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). SNMP has many advantages, which is easy to implement and has a simple structure. However, as the network structure has become more complicated, it has caused a number of problems like the increase of network load and limit of the network management scope in terms of the network expansion and efficiency. Especially, it needs expensive cost and time for developing a network because many network developers are almost depended manually for developing it till now. In this paper, we propose a framework for network management program that automates the generation of information for network management. The Proposed framework is able to automatically generate a network management program by using information related with equipments which were provided along with the network equipments and SNMP library Thus, we ill make not only the SNMP network structure expansion become easier but also errors maintaining and development time of the network management program were dramatically reduced by using generated network program through our proposed framework.
The two reflective channels(red and near infrared spectrum) of advanced very high resolution radiometer(AVHRR) data were used to classify primary vegetation cover types in the Korean Peninsula. From the NOAA-11 satellite data archive of 1991, 27 daytime scenes of relatively minimum cloud coverage were obtained. After the initial radiometric calibration, normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) was calculated for each of the 27 data sets. Four or five daily NDVI data were then overlaid for each of the six months starting from February to November and the maximum value of NDVI was retained for every pixel location to make a monthly composite. The six bands of monthly NDVI composite were nearly cloud free and used for the computer classification of vegetation cover. Based on the temporal signatures of different vegetation cover types, which were generated by an unsupervised block clustering algorithm, every pixel was classified into one of the six cover type categories. The classification result was evaluated by both qualitative interpretation and quantitative comparison with existing forest statistics. Considering frequent data acquisition, low data cost and volume, and large area coverage, it is believed that AVHRR data are effective for vegetation cover type mapping at regional scale.
