추출조건에 따른 울금의 항산화 및 미백 효과 (Antioxidant Activity and Whitening Effect of Extraction Conditions in Curcuma longa L.)

  • 화장품에 응용 가능한 소재를 발굴하기 위한 목적으로 추출조건에 따른 울금 (Curcuma longa L.)의 항산화 효과 및 미백 효과를 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. DPPH 라디칼에 대한 소거능은 시료 농도 $1,000\;{\mu}g/ml$에서 초임계 추출 시료는 89.0%의 저해율을 나타내어, 3가지 추출법 중 초임계 추출물이 가장 높은 전자공여능을 나타내었다. 2. 울금 추출물의 SOD 유사활성을 측정한 결과 3가지 추출방법 중 초임계 추출물의 경우 시료 농도 $500\;{\mu}g/ml$에서 95.0% 가장 높은 SOD 유사활성을 나타내었다. 3. Xanthine oxidase 저해활성을 측정한 결과, 시료 농도 $1,000\;{\mu}g/ml$의 초임계 추출물에서 40%의 저해능을 나타내어 물, 에탄올, 1,3-butylene glycol 추출물에 비해 높은 효과를 나타내었다. 4. 울금 추출물의 tyrosinase 저해 활성을 측정한 결과 에탄올 및 초임계 추출물의 경우 $1,000\;{\mu}g/ml$의 농도에서 각각 82.0, 89.0%로 높은 tyrosinase 저해 활성을 나타내었다. 이상의 실험 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 울금을 이용한 4가지 추출법 중 초임계추출법이 가장 높은 항산화 효과 및 미백효과를 나타내어 화장품의 소재로서 응용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

율피의 생리활성 몇 미백효과를 이용한 화장품신소재에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of New Cosmetic Materials of Whitening Effect and the Physiological Activities of Chestnut Inner Shell)

  • Objectives : This is the study of the application as the ingredients of cosmetics through the examination of the function for physiological activity of Chestnut inner shell. Methods : Chestnut inner shell, which had been extracted, concentrated, and freeze drying with water and ethanol, have been used for the experiment. The effects on electronic donating ability, SOD-like activity, xanthine oxidase inhibition, whitening effect, nitric oxide inhibition have been investigated in the physiological activity measurement of function experiment. Results : We used BHA and kogic acid for the comparative. As a result of testing electron donating ability, at over 100ppm of water extract and ethanol extract, BHA showed relatively high donating ability by more than 90%. And as a result of measuring SOD like activity, 1000ppm of water extract showed an effect of 30% and ethanol extract showed an effect of 40%, BHA showed an effect of 30%. In the xanthine oxidase inhibition test, 1000ppm of water extract showed an effect of 70% and ethanol extract showed an effect of 63%, BHA showed an effect of 100%. In the tyrosinase inhibition test, 1000ppm of water extract showed an effect of 55% and ethanol extract showed an effect of 87%, Kogic acid showed an effect of 98%. In the anti-inflammatory test, the water extract and ethanol extract inhibited the generation of nitric oxide. Conclusions : The results indicated that extract of Chestnut inner shell can be used as a natural ingredients with biological function in cosmetics ingredients.

진달래꽃(Rhododendron mucronulatum Turczaninow)을 이용한 화장품 소재 개발 및 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Cosmeceutical Ingredient, Rhododendron mucronulatum, and the Application of Rheology Properties)

  • To develop cosmetics using Jindalae flowers (Rhododendron mucronulatum), the surface tensions of extracts were measured and the properties and stability of cream with extracts were investigated. The surface tension of 0.1% ethanol extract was 30.42 mN/m and that of distilled water was 72.2 mN/m. The surface tension of cream with 0.1% ethanol extract was similar to that of sample cream and the measured pH were weakly alkalic. The surface tension of 1% ethanol extract was the lowest value of 24.98 mN/m, the measured pH of cream with 1% ethanol extract was weakly acidic and the particle size of cream was stable. According to an oscillatory test, linear viscoelastic region was extended by adding of 1% water extract and 1% ethanol extract to cream, indicating that the cream had greater enhanced resistance for preserving inner structure as compared to outside stress. Besides, as a result of the diminished loss angle of ethanol extract cream, the elasticity of cream was increased more than that of sample cream and cream with 0.1% ethanol extract. In contrast, in the case of the increased loss angle of water extract cream, the viscosity of cream was increased. In conclusion, Rhododendron mucronulatum can be deliberated as a cosmetic material because 0.1% water and ethanol extracts showed efficacious physiological activities and cream with 1% extracts could extend linear viscoelastic region.

  • Objectives : This study was investigated to analyze the anti-oxidant activity of water and ethanol extracts from the Magnoliae Flos. Methods : The effects on electron donating ability (EDA), SOD-like activity and xanthine oxidase inhibition have been investigated the anti-oxidant activity for utilization as a natural material of cosmetics. Results : This study was investigated to analyze the anti-oxidant activity of water and ethanol extracts from the Magnoliae Flos. In the electron donating ability test, water and ethanol extract from Magnoliae Flos showed an effect of 75.6% and 83.5% at 1,000 ppm concentration, respectively. In the superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity, 1,000 ppm of water extract showed an effect of 45.2% and ethanol extract showed an effect of 64.2%. Xanthine oxidase showed a meaningful inhibitory effect of 68.8% in water extract and 23.2% at 1,000 ppm in ethanol extract. Conclusion : From these results, Magnoliae Flos showed the development possibility as a natural material of anti-oxidant cosmetics.

4가지 한방 소재(행인, 호장근, 자초, 강황)의 항산화활성에 관한 연구 (Study on Anti-oxidant Activity of Four Kinds of Korea Herb Medicine Materials)

  • There was an increasing interest that herbal medicine and natural material extracts were proved processes of antioxidant, cosmeceutical activity and the other effects. The aim of this study was to assess the antioxidant of extraction of four kinds from Prunus armeniaca L., Reynoutria elliptica, Curcuma aromatica, Lithospermum erythrorhizon. RE (Reynoutria elliptica) and CA (Curcuma aromatica) have good electron donating ability. The water and ethanol extract of RE at a 100 ppm concentration showed over 70%, the water extract at 500 ppm concentration showed 83% and the ethanol extract at 100 ppm concentration showed 86% of CA. Xanthine oxidase inhibition activity of the water extract of LE (Lithospermum erythrorhizon) at a 1,000 ppm concentration showed over 44%, on the other hand, RE showed in all lowest effect and there was no inhibition activity of a couple more extracts. In the measurement of nitrite scavenging activity, all extracts showed highly scavenging activity. Especially the water and ethanol extract of RE showed over 99% at 500 ppm, also LE showed over 40% at 10 ppm concentration.

화피(樺皮)의 항산화 효과 및 tyrosinase 저해활성 (Antioxidant Effects and Tyrosinase Inhibition Activity of Extract of Prunus sargentii Rehder)

  • 본 연구는 화피의 효소학적 생리활성을 검토하였다. 효소학적 생리활성 실험에서의 전자 공여능은 100 ppm에서 에탄올추출물은 85% 이상의 효능을 나타냈으며, SOD-유사활성능은 1,000 ppm에서 50%의 활성을 나타내었으며, 농도가 증가함에 따라 유의적인 차이를 나타내었다. Xanthine oxidase의 저해활성을 관찰한 결과 1,000 ppm에서는 70% 이상으로 저해효과를 나타내었다. 피부 미백과 관련 있는 tyrosinase 저해효과를 측정한 결과 1,000 ppm 이하의 농도에서 20%의 저해효과를 나타내었다.

청정해역 울릉도자생약초를 이용한 화장품 약리활성 연구 (Cosmeceutical effect from native medicinal plants of blue belt Ulleung islands)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this research was total polyphenol contents, anti-oxidant activities, anti-inflammatory activities and anti-wrinkle activities of Ulleung islands plants for application as a cosmeceutical ingredients Methods : We were experimented total polyphenol contents, anti-oxidant activities, anti-inflammatory activity and anti-wrinkle activities. Results : In the physiological activities, most Ulleung islands plants is showed the highest anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory activity in ABTS+ radical cation scavenging activity, hydrogen peroxide($H_2O_2$) scavenging activity, nitric oxide scavenging activity. All experiment of the water and ethanol extract from the Ulleung islands plants ingredients were gradually increased as well. Conclusions : These results suggest that extracts from Ulleung islands plants can be used in natural ingredient in food or cosmetic industry.

포공영을 이용한 마이크로캡슐 에멀젼에 관한 연구 (Study on the Microcapsule Emulsion Containing Taraxacum platycarpum)

  • The aims of this study was assess to preparation and stability of emulsion containing Taraxacum platycarpum ethanol extract our team was found to shape and size of capsule by optical microscope and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). In the stability test of the emulsion including Taraxacum platycarpum ethanol extract, it was stable of pH, viscosity during 30days. According to all the test results that have been given, it is possible that the ethanol extract of Taraxacum platycarpum can be used as a new cosmetics material.

녹차 폴리페놀을 첨가한 화장품의 암 세포증식억제 효과 (Growth Inhibitory Effect of Irradiated Green Tea Polyphenol Addition in Cosmetic Composition)

  • 화장품에 폴리페놀을 다량 첨가 시 색소가 문제시 될 수 있어 이를 제거하기 위하여 폴리페놀을 첨가한 토너와 에센스에 방사선을 5, 10, 20 kGy로 조사하고, 조사량에 따른 암세포증식 억제능을 검토하였다. 암세포 증식 억제능 측정 결과 모든 세포주(B16F10, G361, A549, HT-29)에 대하여 폴리페놀이 첨가된 토너와 에센스는 500 ppm에서 80% 이상의 증식 억제능을 나타내었으며, 특히 human melanoma(G361)에서는 100 ppm에서 80% 이상의 뛰어난 암세포 증식 억제 효과를 나타내었으며, 방사선 조사량이 증가해도 폴리페놀의 활성이 유지되었다. 또한, 방사선 조사량이 증가 할수록 색이 점차적으로 옅어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과로 미루어 보아 녹차 폴리페놀을 토너와 에센스에 첨가했을 때 암세포증식 억제능이 우수하였으며, 화장품에 첨가 시 나타나는 색소문제는 방사선 조사를 이용하여 개선이 될 것으로 사료된다.

Anti-Inflammatory Effect of Violapyrones B and C from a Marine-derived Streptomyces sp.

  • Recently, we reported violapyrones B, C, H and I, unusual 3, 4, 6-trisubstituted ${\alpha}-pyrones$ derivatives, from the culture broth of the marine Streptomyces sp. 112CH148. In previous studies, violapyrones have been shown to have antibacterial and antitumor activities. However, the anti-inflammatory effect of violapyrones has not been reported yet. As part of our ongoing study for the discovery of bioactive metabolites from marine microorganisms, we found that violapyrones also have anti-inflammatory activity. In this study, we investigated the effect of violapyrones on LPS-induced inflammatory responses in vitro. Violapyrones B and C did not affect the viability of RAW 264.7 cells at concentrations up to $25{\mu}M$. However, violapyrones B and C inhibited the production of NO compared to the LPS-induced control. In addition, violapyrones B and C down-regulated the expression of iNOS protein in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the anti-inflammatory activity of violapyrones B and C.
