  • Most of the existing studies of hospital ward were concentrated on the bed room and there was no study on the day place and corridor space for the inpatient. According to the existing study, 50% inpatients move here and there freely and they want to have a rest in the day place or corridor of the general hospital. So the purpose of this study is to find out the reason why the inpatients prefer to rest in the day place, to survey the inpatients' behavior there and to stress the importance of exterior environment except the bed room in the public space of hospital.

  • The construction of the health care facilities in terms of medical institutional source cost much and affect on management of another sources like staffs for the health care delivery systems and the medical service. For it is hard to change the physical component of the facilities, the reasonability and the efficiency of the facilities should be the major considering point. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to represent the basic data for determining the size and type of corridor space in ward by investigating the design pattern of existing facilities and analyzing several model according to corridor type.

  • In this paper, The vehicle's path construction method for motorized wheelchair's autonomous navigation in a building through analysis of a corridor image using vision system has been proposed and We detected lines of vertical axis through camera distortion parameter, which was measured by camera calibration in a corridor image. Then we got the feature points in the lines. We analyzed the distance of feature points and what is feature points. we reconstructed corridor image to vehicle's path.

  • It is well known that urban environment affects climate, as we can see in the quality of bio-climate. However, climate has not been recognised properly in the urban planning process. The role it flays needs to be examined for better urban environment. The main objective of this study is to investigate the climate-ecological priority area which produces cold fresh air and thermal induced wind circulation between rural and urban areas. The objective is also to improve the quality of bio-climate and wind circulation at blocked urban areas. This paper uses the measurement and analysis method of wind direction and wind speed in order to investigate the climate-ecological priority area and cold fresh air corridor. In this study, local climate conditions i.e. wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity etc., were measured at nine fields and analyzed. On the basis of the climate measurement, the climate ecological priority areas were delineated; These will be assigned as climate-ecological conservation areas.

Northeast Asian Energy Corridor Initiative for Regional Collaboration

  • For historical and political reasons, South Korea (hereafter Korea), Japan and China have not achieved much progress in regional energy cooperation for decades. However, the rising importance of Northeast Asia (NEA) in the world energy sphere, especially in the global oil market, is providing an opportunity to create an integrated oil market in the region. This study suggests the Northeast Asian Energy Corridor (NEAEC) Initiative as an effective conduit for raising the possibility of the Northeast Asian oil hub project. The NEAEC Initiative combines the model of Europe's Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) with Singapore's AsiaClear as a form of financial collaboration. The study suggests that an electronically integrated Over-the-Counter (OTC) market clearing mechanism accompanied by other key financial instruments among Korea, Japan and China can be an effective means for promoting financial collaboration in the region.

UTIS를 이용한 긴급차량 우선신호 제어방안 (Applicability of Emergency Preemption Signal Control under UTIS)

  • 최근 10년간 긴급차량(소방방채청 기준)의 출동 건수 및 출동 시간은 지속적으로 증가하는 추세이며, 혼잡으로 인한 출동여건은 나빠지고 있다. 특히, 일반 승용차의 양보가 힘든 상황에서 신호제어 전략은 출동시간을 줄일 수 있는 중요한 방법 중 하나로서 본 연구에서는 경찰청의 UTIS 사업과 연계하여 신호교차로에서 사용가능한 긴급차량 preemption 알고리즘을 보행자를 고려한 현시전략 및 주기 회복 전략을 고려하여 개발하였다. 또한 이를 평가하기 위한 방안으로 VISSIM을 이용하여 대전에 위치한 비연동축 및 연동축에 대하여 모의실험을 수행하였다. 모의실험의 객관적 평가를 위해 네트워크 정산 및 검증 과정을 수행하였으며, 이를 기반으로 기존 고정식 신호제어와 preemption 신호제어에서 긴급차량과 일반차량의 통행시간 및 평균지체를 검토하였다. 긴급차량의 경우 preemption 이후 주기회복에 "Add 또는 Subtract"을 사용할 경우 36.8~43.3%, "Dwell" 방식을 사용할 경우 30.7~46.0%의 통행시간 감소가 확인되었으며, 일반차량의 경우, 비연동축에서 Dwell 방식을 취할 경우 평균지체가 33.5%까지 증가하였으며, 연동축에서는 0.5% 증가만 확인되었다. 또한 비연동축에서 "Add 또는 Subtract"은 0.7%, 연동축에서는 4.5% 평균지체 증가가 확인되었다. 따라서 preemption 이후 주기회복과정은 연동축에서는 "Dwell", 비연동축에서는 "Add 또는 Subtract"의 방식이 우수할 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 연동축에 대한 명확한 구분이 어려울 경우, "Dwell" 방식의 사용은 신중히 고려되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

노인요양시설 활동공간의 구성유형과 형태별 위계적 특성 연구 (A Study of Hierarchical Characteristics by the Spatial Compositions and the Forms of Activity Areas in Nursing Facilities for the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic information about design guidelines of activity areas in elderly nursing facilities. For the study, the activity areas of 44 facilities in Korea were investigated to categorize their spatial compositions and forms, and then a case study about 19 facilities was conducted to analyse their hierarchical characteristics. The results of the study were as follows: First, the major type of spatial composition among 44 research facilities was concentration, but compartment type was the main among unit-care facilities. By the year, all the types of spatial composition were evenly distributed during recent five years, while concentration type was about 40% before 2003. Second, the major form of activity areas was hall or corridor extension for large group. But there was more alcove or separation form among small group spaces. Third, in the case analysis about hierarchical characteristics, hall and corridor extension form met the requirements of accessibility and openness of public and semi-public areas. On the other hand, separation form had a problem in satisfying both requirements. The semi-private areas, which were around the elderly bedrooms and the elderly were able to watch activities in, were not sufficient in many facilities. Fourth, the division of public and semi-public area was mainly by furniture, and the individuality of semi-private area was defined by dead-end place and corner seats of the window or the corridor. The diversity of semi-private area was likely to be appeared in connection or distribution type. On the basis of the results, the basic design guidelines for activity areas in elderly nursing facilities could be suggested as follows: On the whole, connection or distribution type in spatial composition is more efficient for hierarchical flow than concentration or compartment type is, especially in Korean facilities having many elderly residents per floor. In detail, the design of public and semi-public area should be focused on their openness and accessibility. The recommended forms of activity areas were hall or corridor extension in public area, and living room, corridor extension, or large corridor in semi-public area to effectively function as large or small group spaces. In semi-private areas, the spatial diversity and individuality should be considered.

환경 친화적 철도노선대 선정을 위한 주요환경 영향인자에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Major Environmental Effecting Factors for The Selection Environment-Friendly Railway Corridor)

  • 철도는 다른 육상교통수단보다 환경 친화적이며 에너지 효율성이 높은 교통수단이다. 철도노선 선정과정에서 예비타당성 수행은 에너지 효율성과 환경에 관한 문제들이 일반적으로 고려되고 있지 않다. 철도노선 선정은 지형적인 특성 그리고 시설물의 관리와 운영을 중심으로 선정되고 있다. 철도노선선정에 영향을 미치는 환경관련 문제에 대해서 본 연구는 집중적으로 검토 분석하였다. 본 연구는 철도 및 환경전문가 그리고 철도 노선선정에 관련된 전문가 의견 을 검토 분석하여 환경에 영향을 미치는 주요 인자를 추출하였다. 철도노선 선정과정에서 환경에 미치는 영향을 알 수 있는 환경영향평가 항목을 선정하였다. 환경 친화적인 철도노선 대 선정을 위하여 환경영향평가 항목 6개 분야 20개로부터 7개의 환경항목(지형 지질, 동식물상, 자연 환경자산, 대기질, 수질, 소음 진동, 문화재 경관)을 추출하였다. 철도노선을 선정하기 위해서는, 여러 대안이 비교되어야 하고 각 대안의 평가는 이 7개 환경항목을 기준으로 하여 실행되어야 한다. 최적의 철도노선선정은 7개의 환경항목을 고려하는 포괄적인 평가에 의해 선정되어야 한다. 이와 같이 주요 환경항목인자에 의한 평가는 철도건설 투자를 활성화 하는데 이바지 할 것이다.

한국의 산림전용 및 산림황폐화 방지를 통한 탄소배출감축 프로그램 이행의 기저선 접근법 연구 (A Study of Baseline Approach for Implementing Program of Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in South Korea)

  • 최근 산림분야를 통해 탄소배출량을 줄이고자하는 노력으로 신규 및 재조림이 주를 이루던 산림정책 패러다임이 산림전용 및 산림황폐화방지를 통한 탄소배출감축(REDD) 활동에 대한 관심으로 집중되고 있다. 이에 따라 REDD 이행 성과 가시화를 위한 단계적 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 한국의 16개 시도단위별 산림환경여건을 분류하고, 국제적으로 주요하게 사용되는 6가지 기저선 접근법을 적용하여 국가단위 REDD 프로그램 운영을 위한 최적 기저선 접근법을 도출하였다. 연구결과 일반적으로 HFLD에 대한 탄소배출권 획득량이 낮았으며, 이에 반해 LFMD, LFHD에 대한 획득량은 높게 나타났다. 이에 따라 HFLD 지역은 산지전용을 통한 개발이 더 많은 경제적 이익을 가져올 수 있기 때문에 REDD 이행 기제에 대한 참여 유인이 부족하게 된다. 모든 유형의 산림여건에서 REDD에 대한 참여를 높이기 위한 유인성과 적은 노력으로 많은 양의 탄소배출권을 획득하는 일이 발생하지 않는 실제성이 모두 적절하게 만족스러운 기저선 접근법이 필요하다. 이러한 실제성과 유인성 평가시 Corridor Approach 접근법 선택이 가장 합리적인 것으로 판단되며, 국내 적용시 발생하는 이익분배에 대한 단점을 보완하기 위해 한국형 Corridor Approach 접근법을 개발하였다.

A Comparative Analysis of Patient Visibility, Spatial Configuration and Nurse Walking Distance in Korean Intensive Care Units(ICUs) - Focused on single corridor, Pod and Composite type units

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze a sample of single corridor, pod type and composite type of ICUs in terms of patient visibility, spatial configurations and nurse walking distance focused on Korean cases. Methods: The measures of static visibility were used to quantify the patient visibility (upper third part of the patient bed) from the nurse station. The measure of space programme and area distribution (patient zone percentage, staff zone percentage, circulation zone percentage, corridor length per bed, distance from nurse station (NS) to patient bed and departmental gross square meter (DGSM) per patient bed) were calculated by using AutoCAD and MS Excel programs. In the second step of analysis the values of space distribution were compared among the three type of ICUs as well as the nurse walking distance, DGSM per bed and gross factor. in the third step of analysis regression analysis was conducted for the possible correlation between visibility and space programme and area distribution factors as well as nurse walking distance factors. Results: (1) It was found that on average composite type unit offer highest value of patient visibility followed by pod type, while single corridor type unit offers the minimum value of patient visibility among the three plan typologies. (2) Average patient visibility and DGSM per bed shows a strong positive correlation ($r^2=0.75$) and p=0.026. (3) Average patient visibility and average distance from NS has a strong negative correlation ($r^2=0.78$), and P=0.02. (4) On average composite type unit offer the minimum walking distance from NS (7.22 meter) followed by pod type unit (8.35 meter) and single corridor (9.76 meter). (5) Maximum distance from NS was noted in single corridor (18.19 meter) followed by pod type unit (15.14 meter) and Composite type unit (11.1 meter). Implications: This study may contribute to the visibility analysis of existing and future ICU design in Korea to achieve maximum patient visibility and reduced nurse walking distance.
