The torsion beam type of rear suspension has been adopted by most manufactures of small to medium front wheel drive passenger cars. Previous studies analyzed only the load characteristics of CTBA(the coupled torsion beam axle)'s components. This paper analyzed the results of measurement after measuring loads and displacements, angles when a car equipped with the coupled torsion beam axle is driving in various roads. The most important durability factors for CTBA part are the force and direction of rear CTBA trailing arm. If there are design changes, it was difficult to make a sensor and install each time for measuring the trailing arm forces. After analyzing the loading histories between body and chassis, we developed the transformation matrix that can be converted to mutual force. This paper also deals with the analysis of the force behavior through the analysis of the influence and correlation between the body and chassis parts of cars.
Development of transportation and communication technology has affected our daily life and has caused to separate residential places from working places. Particularly in rural areas, the life zones are incorporated into larger towns or urban areas due to their lack of cultural, social and economic infrastructures. Thus, the analysis of the depended region and the life zone is important for the planning of regional revitalization programs and related project. The purpose of this study is to propose a regional dependency model (RDM) using the origin-destination(O-D) matrix of commuters and compare it with the Nystuen & Dacey model for regional correlation. The regional characteristics are analysed and our RDM were tested using the commuting data on Seoul metropolitan area(Seoul, Gyeong-gi, Incheon) and Chungchung area. The regional correlation model can only explain the determination of regional interaction without considering the direction of regional correlation but our model can show the direction of regional dependencies.
For scaling of the gradient of misfit function, we develop a new pseudo-Hessian matrix constructed by combining amplitude field and pseudo-Hessian matrix. Since pseudo- Hessian matrix neglects the calculation of the zero-lag auto-correlation of impulse responses in the approximate Hessian matrix, the pseudo-Hessian matrix has a limitation to scale the gradient of misfit function compared to the approximate Hessian matrix. To validate the new pseudo- Hessian matrix, we perform frequency-domain elastic full waveform inversion using this Hessian matrix. By synthetic experiments, we show that the new pseudo-Hessian matrix can give better convergence to the true model than the old one does. Furthermore, since the amplitude fields are intrinsically obtained in forward modeling procedure, we do not have to pay any extra cost to compute the new pseudo-Hessian. We think that the new pseudo-Hessian matrix can be used as an alternative of the approximate Hessian matrix of the Gauss-Newton method.
TDOA which is one of the position estimation methods is used on indoor positioning, jammer localization, rescue of life, etc. due to high accuracy and simple structure. This paper proposes the super-resolution TDOA estimator using MPM(Matrix Pencil Method). The proposed estimator has more accuracy and is applicable to narrowband signal compared with the conventional cross-correlation. Furthermore, its complexity is low because obtained data directly is used for construction of matrix unlike the MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification) which is one of the well-known super-resolution estimator using covariance matrix. To validate the performance of proposed estimator, errors of estimation and computational burden is compared to MUSIC through software simulation.
We propose a new content-based image retrieval using a block color co-occurrence matrix (BCCM) and pattern correlogram. In the proposed method, the color feature vectors are extracted by using BCCM that represents the probability of the co-occurrence of two mean colors within blocks. Also the pattern feature vectors are extracted by using pattern correlogram which is combined with spatial correlation of pattern. In the proposed pattern correlogram method. after block-divided image is classified into 48 patterns with respect to the change of the RGB color of the image, joint probability between the same pattern from the surrounding blocks existing at the fixed distance and the center pattern is calculated. Experimental results show that the proposed method can outperform the conventional methods as regards the precision and the size of the feature vector dimension.
This Paper proposes the simple and efficient image retrieval algorithm using subregional texture features. In order to retrieve images in terms of its contents, it is required to obtain a precise segmentation. However, it is very difficult and takes a long computing time. Therefore. this paper proposes a simple segmentation method, which is to divide an image into high and low entropy regions by using Picture Information Measure (PIM). Also, in order to describe texture characteristics of each region, this paper suggest six different texture features produced on the basis of co-occurrence matrix. For an image retrieval system, a normalised correlation is adopted as a similarity function, which is not dependent on the range of each texture feature values. Finally, this proposed algorithm is applied to a various images and produces competitive results.
Objective: To investigate the correlation between extracellular matrix protein-1 (ECM1) and the growth, metastasis and angiogenesis of laryngeal carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Forty-five samples with laryngeal benign and malignant tumors confirmed by pathology in Laiwu City People's Hospital from March 2006 to March 2011 were collected, in which there were 29 cases with laryngeal carcinoma and 16 with benign tumors. The expression of ECM1 and factor VIII-related antigens in patients with laryngeal carcinoma and those with benign tumors was respectively detected using immunohistochemical method, and the correlation between ECM1 staining grade and microvessel density (MVD) was analyzed. Results: In laryngeal carcinoma tissue, ECM1 was mainly expressed in cytoplasm, less in cytomembrane or intercellular substance. With abundant expression in the tissue of laryngeal benign tumors (benign mesenchymoma and hemangioma), ECM1 was primarily expressed in the connective tissue, which was different from the expression in laryngeal carcinoma tissue. The proportion of positive ECM1 staining (++) in patients with laryngeal carcinoma was dramatically higher than those with benign tumors (p<0.05), and that of strongly-positive ECM1 staining (+++) slightly higher. The results of Spearman nonparametric correlation analysis revealed that ECM1 staining grade in laryngeal carcinoma tissue had a significantly-positive correlation with MVD (r=0.866, p=0.000). Conclusions: ECM1 expression in laryngeal carcinoma is closely associated with tumor cell growth, metastasis and angiogenesis, which can be considered as an effective predictor in the occurrence and postoperative recurrence of laryngeal carcinoma.
Passive sonar system forms the various beams in any desired directions to obtain the improvement in Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio, bearing detection and localization of targets, and the attenuation of interferences from other directions. The improvement of beamforming is very important to detect modern underwater targets as noise reduction technology leads to considerably low-level acoustic emissions in the long range in complex environmental sea. In this paper, we proposed the spatial cross correlation beamforming (SCCBF) algorithm using cross correlation matrix of individual hydrophone pairs of linear array sensors. By the theoretical analysis and simulation, the proposed SCCBF is demonstrated that its performances compared to conventional beamforming (CBF) output can be obtain above 3dB of array gain and about half of beam width represented the bearing accuracy in target detection. Also, this paper presents sea test result of linear passive sonar system that the proposed algorithm implemented.

For the marginal model and generalized estimating equations (GEE) method there is important full covariates conditional mean (FCCM) assumption which is pointed out by Pepe and Anderson (1994). With longitudinal data with time-varying stochastic covariates, this assumption may not necessarily hold. If this assumption is violated, the biased estimates of regression coefficients may result. But if a diagonal working correlation matrix is used, irrespective of whether the assumption is violated, the resulting estimates are (nearly) unbiased (Pan et al., 2000).The quadratic inference functions (QIF) method proposed by Qu et al. (2000) is the method based on generalized method of moment (GMM) using GEE. The QIF yields a substantial improvement in efficiency for the estimator of ${\beta}$ when the working correlation is misspecified, and equal efficiency to the GEE when the working correlation is correct (Qu et al., 2000).In this paper, we interest in whether the QIF can improve the results of the GEE method in the case of FCCM is violated. We show that the QIF with exchangeable and AR(1) working correlation matrix cannot be consistent and asymptotically normal in this case. Also it may not be efficient than GEE with independence working correlation. Our simulation studies verify the result.
A matrix pencil method for source separation 〔3〕was shown to be an unbiased signal extractor in the presence of temporally white noise. Its efficiency and robustness lies in the fact that the method in 〔3〕 employs only time-delayed correlation matrices of the observation data, In this paper we stress out that the matrix pencil method might suffer from a numerical instability problem, be- cause the symmetric-definite pencil was not exploited. Moreover we present a simple method of constructing a symmetric-definite pencil so that the matrix pencil method is numerically stable.
