  • This study aimed to examine the effect of corporate characteristics, including the industrial sector and scale of operation, financial leverage, profitability, operating period, and social reputation, on socio-ecological responsibility based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. The study was conducted in the Indonesian context. A total of 90 public companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange were selected as samples, with an observation period of 10 years. A univariate regression analysis was applied to test the hypotheses. The results showed that the industrial sector, scale of operation, financial leverage, profitability, operating period, and social reputation of the corporate had a positive effect on socio-ecological responsibility. This study also obtained evidence that there were differences in the level of socio-ecological responsibility among the industrial sectors. The higher the relationship between the industrial sector and the possibility of the emergence of social and environmental issues, the higher the level of corporate socio-ecological responsibility. From a policy perspective, the implication of the results of this study was that it could be used as a consideration by the authorities or regulators in Indonesia, particularly the Financial Services Authority (OJK), in determining specific indicators of socio-ecological responsibility that must be carried out by corporates.

  • This study examined whether there is a difference in cost asymmetry between a corporate listed on KOSDAQ and a corporate listed on KOSPI, and whether there is a difference in cost asymmetry depending on the size of the listed corporate. In the previous study, cost asymmetry was examined only for listed corporate, but the difference in size between KOSDAQ-listed corporate and KOSPI-listed corporate was not examined. However, according to many studies, since the characteristics of corporate and firm risks are different between corporate listed on KOSPI and corporate listed on KOSDAQ, or even for listed corporate, such an impact may affect the decision-making of internal resource allocation. The analysis was conducted that there would be a difference in the impact. For this study, the results of analyzing the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets from 2011 to 2019 using the cost behavior model of Anderson et al. (2003), There was a difference in cost behavior in the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets. Overall, as in previous studies, Cost Stickiness was appeared. but in the case of the KOSPI market, Cost Stickiness was mitigated. It was found that corporate with large corporate size made the decision to dispose of idle resources more clearly when sales decreased. In addition, it was observed that the higher the foreign investor's ownership ratio, the KOSPI market, and the larger the corporate size, the more clearly the Stickiness of cost was mitigated. This study expands research on cost asymmetry and reveals that there is a difference between the KOSPI market and the KOSDAQ market, and between the size of the corporate, and has a differentiation from previous studies.

  • In this paper, we describe the current status and issues of the oxide thin-film transistors (OTFTs), which attract much attention as an emerging new backplane technology replacing conventional silicon-based TFTs technologies. First, the unique benefits of OTFTs will be presented as a backplane for large-sized AMOLED including note-book PC, second TV and HD-TV. And then, the state-of-the-art transistor performance and uniformity characteristics of OTFTs will be highlighted. The obtained a-IGZO TFTs exhibited the field-effect mobility of $18\;cm^2/Vs$, threshold voltage of 1.8 V, on/off ratio of $10^9$, and subthreshold gate swing of 0.28 V/decade. In addition, the world largest-sized 12.1-inch WXGA active-matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) display is demonstrated using indium-gallium-zinc oxide (IGZO) TFTs.

  • Entrepreneurship is vital in the foodservice industry more than any other industry as a force to overcome the obstacles in the management environment due to the relatively small scale of the business. The existing literature shows that entrepreneurship not only leads toward innovative management, but also enhances corporate performance. This paper undertakes an analysis of the relations between entrepreneurs' needs for achievement and entrepreneurship, and the way in which entrepreneurship influences corporate performance. For this study, 250 restaurant owners in Busan were surveyed from December 10 to 20, 2008, and 232 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed. SPSS 12.0 package program and Amos 5.0 were used for statistical analysis. The result of the analysis suggests that entrepreneurs' desire to achieve goals could influence the entrepreneurship variable. Moreover, entrepreneurship enhances corporate performance. In sum, the three-dimensional scale of entrepreneurship which includes innovativeness, constructive risk taking, and proactiveness strengthens corporate performance. Future research should investigate the processes by which entrepreneurship enhances performance and other potential moderator variables.

The analysis found that consumers trust in firms are positively influenced by ethical responsibility (0.391), economic responsibility (0.293), legal responsibility (0.251), and discretionary responsibility (0.248). The relationship between sub-factor of social responsibility and purchase intention is not significantly influenced by other explanatory variables. Corporate trust exerts a direct influence on purchase Intention (0.456). The social responsibility of a firm didn't influence a direct purchase intention. In general, a specific corporate context is likely to lead employees to take part in corporate philanthropy in involuntary or passive ways. With this characteristics, employees' donation or volunteering at a working place has an impact on changes in their attitudes toward corporate social philanthropy and organizational commitment. The study also assumes that the changes in employees' attitudes have a mediate effect on their organizational commitment. The study conducted a survey for about 300 employees working at one of corporations in Seoul Metropolitan area. Based on a structural equation modelling analysis, the results showed that there was an indirect relationship between staffs' participations in corporate philanthropic activities and organizational commitment, which was mediated by employees' assessment and attitudes toward corporate philanthropy. Despite a limitation of the study sample, the study provided both an academic ground to discuss on employees' participation in corporate philanthropy, and a practical ground for corporate leaders to strategically consider how to encourage employees to participate in corporate philanthropic activities and to achieve its goal.
