  • This study aims to measure Korea's global competitiveness in intelligent information technology, which is the core technology of the 4th industrial revolution. For analysis, we collect patents of each field and prior patents cited by them, which are applied at the U.S. Patent Office (USPTO) between 2010 and 2018 from PATSTAT Online. A global knowledge transfer network was established by grouping citing- and cited-relationships at a national level. The in-degree centrality is used to evaluate technology acceptance, which indicates the process of absorbing existing technological knowledge to create new knowledge in each field. Second, to evaluate the impact of existing technological knowledge on the creation of new one, the out-degree centrality is investigated. Third, we apply the PageRank algorithm to qualitatively and quantitatively investigate the importance of the relationships between countries. As a result, it is confirmed through all the indicators that the AI sector is currently the least competitive.

  • This study analyzes how companies of prospector type with inherent risks from new products and R&D costs affect audit hours, and further analyzes how they affect rank-specific audit hours. Samples were empirically analyzed using samples from 2018 to 2019 for KOSPI-listed and KOSDAQ-listed companies. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that auditors were aware of the inherent risks of companies of prospector type and were striving to improve audit quality. Second, it was found that the corresponding degree of risk differs depending on the position and role in the audit team, so higher efforts were made in core positions with high risk levels. The results of this study are meaningful in verifying how the type of Business Strategies affects the audit efforts and resource input of auditors who are external parties, not internal factors such as financial reporting quality or tax avoidance. It also has important implications that a company's Business Strategies can be an significant factor to consider in preparing policies and systems for improving audit quality.

  • Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) was carried out for pyrolysis and char-$CO_2$ gasification of low rank Indonesian ABK coal and China lignite. The pyrolysis rate was successfully described by a two-step model adopting the modified Kissinger method. The shrinking core model, when applied to char-$CO_2$ gasification gave initial activation energy of 189.1 kJ/mol and 260.5 kJ/mol for the ABK coal and China lignite, respectively. Thus, the char-$CO_2$ gasification has been successfully simulated by the shrinking core model. In particular, the activation energy of char-$CO_2$ gasification calculated in this work is similar to the results on the anthracite coal, but considerable difference exists when other models or coal types are used.

  • Recently the degree of integration of processor and developed rapidly. However, clock speed is not increased, a situation that increases the number of cores in the processor. In this paper, we analyze the performance of a typical Intel Xeon Phi of many core process used for the current operation accelerate. Utilizing the Quantum ESPRESSO, which was calculated using the FFTW library. By varying the number of ranks in MPI when running the benchmarks the performance Xeon Phi. The result shows a good performance in the handling of four job on one physical core. However, four or more to expand the number of MPI Rank is degraded. Through this convergence it was found to improve the performance of Quantum ESPRESSO. It is possible to check the hardware characteristics of the Xeon Phi.

  • Since the inauguration of Defense Acquisition Program Administration(DAPA) in 2006, the national defense core technology research & development business has not only pertained to the weapons systems development but also to the improvement of the national science & technology capability via the acquisition of cutting-edge technologies. Furthermore, it has been closely related to the promotion of the defense industry and the mutual improvements of defense and civil technologies. The cyber warfare weapon system, a newly added national defense weapon system field since 2015, has become a promising weapon system branch for improving the national defense power as well as the national defense industry as shown in the case of Israel. By utilizing the existing result of the national defense core technology level, in order to establish the direction of technology planning of the cyber warfare weapon system, this paper analyzes the technology level and features of the cyber warfare weapon system in various aspects via comparisons with other weapons systems. The result of these analyses shows that the cyber warfare weapon system possesses a relatively high technology level due to the technology accumulation in the civilian sector while the relatively slow inclusion to the national weapons systems and the lack of the correspondence case regarding aggressive cyber responses in the defense sector yields a relatively low national rank. However, the technological gap between South Korea and the most advanced country in the field of cyber warfare technology is analyzed to be among the lowest, which indicates that with efficient and effective pursuits in terms of pthe weapons systems acquisitions as well as the core technologies research & development business, an outstanding cyber warfare capacity can be obtained in a short time.
