  • Due to the availability of easy-to-use and powerful image editing tools, the authentication of digital images cannot be taken for granted and it gives rise to non-intrusive forgery detection problem because all imaging devices do not embed watermark. Forgery detection plays an important role in this case. In this paper, an effective framework for passive-blind method for copy-move image forgery detection is proposed, based on Gabor filter which is robust to illumination, rotation invariant, robust to scale. For the detection, the suspicious image is selected and Gabor wavelet is applied from whole scale space and whole direction space. We will extract the mean and the standard deviation as the texture features and feature vectors. Finally, a distance is calculated between two textures feature vectors to determine the forgery, and the decision will be made based on that result.

  • Quantitative analysis of a myxosporean parasite, Parvicapsula sp. in internal organs (kidney, intestine, spleen, brain and liver) from non-emaciated (farm-A) or emaciated (farm-B and farm-C) olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus were performed by real-time PCR. The highest DNA copy number ($1.7{\times}10^7copies/mg$ tissue) was detected in kidney of the emaciated olive flounder from farm-C, while the DNA copy number was below detection limit in all the organs of the olive flounder from farm-B. There was not positive result in all of organs from olive flounder in farm-A. PCR and histopathological analysis were also performed using the same specimen and showed same results as those by real-time PCR.

  • Purpose: To summarize the results of chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) for copy number variants (CNVs) detection and clinical utility in a single tertiary hospital. Materials and Methods: We performed CMA in 46 patients over the course of two years. Detected CNVs were classified into five categories according to the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics guidelines and correlated with clinical manifestations. Results: A total of 31 CNVs were detected in 19 patients, with a median CNV number per patient of two CNVs. Among these, 16 CNVs were classified as pathogenic (n=3) or likely pathogenic (LP) (n=11) or variant of uncertain significance (n=4). The 16p11.2 deletion and 16p13.11 deletion classified as LP were most often detected in 6.5% (3/46), retrospectively. CMA diagnostic yield was 24.3% (9/37 patients) for symptomatic patients. The CNVs results of the commercial newborn screening test using next generation sequencing platforms showed high concordance with CMA results. Conclusion: CMA seems useful as a first-tier test for developmental delay with or without congenital anomalies. However, the classification and interpretation of CMA still remained a challenge. Further research is needed for evidence-based interpretation.

  • The packet capturing becomes a bottleneck in the network intrusion detection and monitoring system as the network performance developing. Many approaches, zero copy, interrupt coalescing and NAPI which attempt to improve packet capturing performance of Linux, are inefficient. PF_RING is a new type of network socket that dramatically improves the packet capture speed, but not perfect. This paper proposes some solutions which can improve the memory utilization and save some data copy time based on the commodity network adapters rather than on the commercial network adapters.

  • Targeting Microcystin (MC), which is most abundantly detected in the North-Han River water area, we analyzed the relationship between the MC biosynthesis gene (mcyA gene), cyanobacteria cell density, and MC concentration, derived an RNA-MC conversion formula, and derived the cyanobacteria. The concentration of MC present in cells was predicted. In the North-Han River waters, the mcyA gene was found mainly at downstream sites of the North-Han River after Muk-Hyeon Stream junction, and higher copy numbers were found on average than other sites. In the Uiam Lake waters upstream of the North-Han River, the mcyA gene copy number increased at the Kong-Ji Stream point, and after September, the mcyA gene copy number decreased throughout the North-Han River waters. The expression of the mcyA gene was concentrated in the short period of summer due to the spatio-temporal difference between upstream and downstream water bodies. The mcyA gene expression level was not only highly correlated with MC concentration, but also correlated with the cell density of Microcystis aeruginosa and Dolichospermum circinale, which are known to biosynthesize MC. Six conversion formulas derived based on the RNA-MC relationship showed statistical significance (p<0.05) and exhibited high correlation coefficients (r) of 0.9 or higher. The expression level of MC biosynthesis gene present in eRNA determines the synthesis of cyanotoxin substances in water, quickly quantifies gene activity, and can be fully utilized for early warning of MC development.

  • This paper proposes a new resampling detection method for images that detects whether an image has been resampled and recovers the corresponding resampling rate. The proposed method uses a given set of zeroing masks for various resampling factors to evaluate the convolution values of the input image with the zeroing masks. Improving upon our previous work, the proposed method detects more resampling factors by checking for some periodicity with an approximate detection mechanism. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective and efficient.

  • Digital watermarking is the technique which embeds the invisible signal into multimedia data such as audio, video, images, for copyright protection, including owner identification and copy control information. In this paper, a new watermark detection algorithm by local masking cross covariance between watermarked signal and pseudo noise signal is proposed. The proposed algorithm enhances the detection probability for embedding information. Since reducing detection errors for the weak embedding signals, the algorithm improves the image quality and robusts against illegal attack to delete the embedding information and data compression applications such as JPEG and MPEGs.
