실험계획법을 통한 구리 질화물 패시베이션 형성을 위한 아르곤 플라즈마 영향 분석 (Analysis of Ar Plasma Effects for Copper Nitride Passivation Formation via Design of Experiment)

  • 구리 표면을 대기 중의 산화로부터 보호하기 위해서 아르곤(Ar)과 질소($N_2$) 가스를 이용하는 two-step플라즈마 공정으로 산화 방지층인 구리 질화물 패시베이션 형성을 연구하였다. Ar 플라즈마는 구리 표면에 존재하는 이물질을 제거하는 동시에 표면을 활성화시켜 다음 단계에서 진행되는 $N_2$ 플라즈마 공정 시 질소 원자와 구리의 반응을 촉진시키는 역할을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 two-step 플라즈마 공정 중 Ar 플라즈마 공정 조건이 구리 질화물 패시베이션 형성에 미치는 영향을 실험계획법의 완전요인설계를 통하여 분석하였다. XPS 분석에 의하면 Ar 플라즈마 공정 시 낮은 RF 파워와 압력을 사용할 경우 구리 산화물 피크(peak) 면적은 감소하고, 반대로 구리 질화물(Cu4N, Cu3N) 피크 면적은 증가하였다. Ar 플라즈마 공정 시 구리 질화물 형성의 주 효과는 RF 파워로 나타났으며 플라즈마 공정 변수간 교호작용은 거의 없었다.

X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy: A Complementary Tool for Structural and Electronic Characterization of Solids

  • The purpose of this paper is to show that X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XANES and EXAFS) is a powerful technique for characterizing both crystalline and amorphous solids from structural (local order) and electronic point of view. The principle of this technique is briefly described by showing the main factors which must be considered for recording and fitting the experimental results. Some non-trivial examples have been selected for demonstrating that XAS spectroscopy is the only technique for bringing a definitive answer as for example: the determination of the local distortion of the $NiO_6$ octahedra in the $Li_{1-z}Ni_{1+z}O_2$ layered oxides and the evidence of the presence of copper pairs in the NASICON-type phosphate $CuZr_2 (PO_4)_3$. Are also reported some significant examples for which XAS spectroscopy is decisive with other characterization methods as (i) Raman spectroscopy for glasses (ii) Mossbauer spectroscopy for $LiNi_{1+z-t}Fe_To_2$ oxides (iii) magnetic measurements for Ce-based intermetallic compounds.

페루 수빠라우라 산화동 산출지의 특성: 예비연구 (Characteristics on the Occurrence of Oxidized Copper at Suparaura, Peru: Preliminary Study)

  • 페루 남중부 아방까이 일대 수빠라우라 지역 산화동 산출지의 주변지질, 광상조사를 실시했다. 조사지역은 중생대 백악기의 석회암과 사암층을 기반암으로 하여 신생대 제 3기 화강섬록암, 토날라이트, 안산암질 반암 등이 기반암을 관입하고 있다. $N70^{\circ}W$ 주향과 $60^{\circ}NE$ 경사의 적색 사암 층리변을 따라 최대 30 cm 폭의 동광화작용이 관찰된다. 이는 반암형 시스템에서 일반적으로 발달하는 동광화작용과는 완전히 다른 변질작용, 광물조합, 산출특성 등을 가지며, 미시시피 밸리 유형에 해당하는 층준큐제형 퇴적암-모암 동광상 (Stratiform Sediment-hosted Copper deposits: SSC)에 대비될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Preparation of Phase Pure Cuprate Superconductors via The Modification of Sol-Gel Method

  • A modification of the sol-gel method to obtain phase pure superconducting oxides is described. The method starts from organic salts of yttrium, barium and copper, such as acetates, and avoids the sudden and uncontrollable decomposition of the organic fraction which occurs if nitrates are used as starting materials. The aqueous solution obtained with citric acid in an alkaline medium is concentrated under vacuum. The solid so prepared is decomposed at about $300^{\circ}C$ thus giving an oxide precursor containing well dispersed yttrium, barium and copper. Pyrolysis at 850 - $920^{\circ}C$ followed by oxygen annealing gives the superconducting orthorhombic 123 phase. The results of TGA/DTA of the precursor, as well as XRD, electrical and magnetic property measurements on the pyrolysis products are presented and discussed.

Reduction Behaviors of Nitric Oxides on Copper-decorated Mesoporous Molecular Sieves

  • In this study, NO reduction behaviors of copper-loaded mesoporous molecular sieves (Cu/MCM-41) have been investigated. The Cu loading on MCM-41 surfaces was accomplished by a chemical reduction method with different Cu contents (5, 10, 20, and 40%). $N_2/77$ K adsorption isotherm characteristics, including the specific surface area and pore volume, were studied by BET's equation. NO reduction behaviors were confirmed by a gas chromatography. From the experimental results, the Cu loading amount on MCM-41 led to the increase of NO reduction efficiency in spite of decreasing the specific surface area of catalysts. This result indicates that highly ordered porous structure in the MCM-41 and the presence of active metal particles lead the synergistical NO reduction reactions due to the increase in adsorption energy of MCM-41 surfaces by the Cu particles.

Removal of Chromium by Activated Carbon Fibers Plated with Copper Metal

  • In this work, activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were plated with copper metal using electroless plating method and the effects of surface properties and pore structures on chromium adsorption properties were investigated. Surface properties of ACFs have been characterized using pH and acid/base values. BET data with $N_2$ adsorption were used to obtain the structural parameters of ACFs. The electroless copper plating did significantly lead to a decrease in the surface acidity or to an increase in the surface basicity of ACFs. However, all of the samples possessed a well-developed micropore. The adsorption capacity of Cr(III) for the electroless Cu-plated ACFs was higher than that of the as-received, whereas the adsorption capacity of Cr(VI) for the former was lower than that of the latter. The adsorption rate constants ($K_1$, $K_2$, and $K_3$) were also evaluated from chromium adsorption isotherms. It was found that $K_1$ constant for Cr(III) adsorption depended largely on surface basicity. The increase of Cr(III) adsorption and the decrease of Cr(VI) adsorption were attributed to the formation of metal oxides on ACFs, resulting in increasing the surface basicity.

직접 결합방법에 의한 Glass-Ceramics과 금속의 접합 (Direct Sealing Glass-Ceramics to Metal)

  • Glass-ceramics possessed a number of characteristics which suggested their suggested their use for sealing to metals. The choice of particular glass-ceramics compositions for this application is governed by various factors, including workability of the glasses, thermal expansion characteristics and the matching of these to appropriate metals. Other properties, such as mechanical strength, determined the performance of glass-ceramics to metal seals. The purpose of the present study was to investigate direct sealing behaviour of copper to $Li_2O-ZnO-SiO_2$ system glass-ceramics. The design of the seal was a concentric seal which might contribute to the strong bond formation by providing compressive stress during thermal excursions. Tensile strengths of sealing layers were measured by Instron test machine. The layers were examined by electron probe microanalyzer. Crsystallization rate was increased with the amount of ZnO or $Li_2O$, and ZnO increased the sealing strength, but $Li_2O$ lowered it. Sealing mechanism was due to the formation of metal oxides, which acted as binder between copper and glass-ceramics. The nickle-plated copper seal with 10% $Li_2O$ and 30% ZnO was the most strong seal, and its sealing strength was more than 56kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

광양금광상(光陽金鑛床), 고흥동광상(高興銅鑛床)의 광상생성(鑛床生成)과 암석학적(岩石學的) 연구(硏究) (Metallogenesis and Petrology of the Gwangyang Gold Deposits and Goheung Copper Deposits)

  • The Gwangyang gold deposits geologically consist of granitic gneiss, metatectic gneiss and porphyroblastic gneiss which correspond to Jirisan gneiss complex. The formations of Gyeongsang system lies unconformably on these gneisses and are intruded by diorite, porphyritic andesite and Bulgugsa granites. Goheung districts are composed of quartz schist, andesitic rock, tuff and granite. The Gwangyang gold deposits are gold bearing fissure filling veins. The vein thickness varies from 15cm to 40cm and they consist of 7-10 layers in parallel. The Goheung copper deposits are sulphide bearing quartz veln which filled the fracture in andesitic rock and biotite granite. The contact zone of these rocks is partially altered. The mineral paragenesis of the Gwangyang and Goheung districts is pyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, sericite, quartz and calcite. The variation trends of FMA and A'KF triangular diagrams and the differentiation index (norm, Q + Or + Ab) versus oxides diagrams is similar to the Gyeonsang basin igneous rocks. From the trace element analysis of 10 samples of country rocks, wall rocks and veins, the distribution of copper and lead contents display a correlative distribution pattern in relation to gold and silver. Homogenization temperature of fluid inclusions range from $200^{\circ}C$ to $270^{\circ}C$ in quartz from the Gwangyang gold vein and the size of fluid inclusion range from 0.01mm to 0.04mm. The fluid inclusions are mainly one or two phase and the filling degree of the inclusions varies from 85 to 95.

침전법으로 제조된 CuO-CeO2 혼합산화물에서 벤젠의 촉매연소반응 (Catalytic Combustion of Benzene over CuO-CeO2 Mixed Oxides Prepared by Co-precipitation Method)

  • 공침전법으로 제조된 CuO-$CeO_2$ 혼합산화물 촉매에서 벤젠의 촉매연소 반응에 대해 연구하였다. CuO-$CeO_2$ 혼합산화물 촉매들은 침전제 및 CuO 전구체를 달리하여 제조하였고, XRD, BET, XPS 및 $H_2-TPR$에 의해 특성분석을 하였다. 침전제의 종류에 상관없이 CuO 피크가 $2{\Theta}=35.5^{\circ}$$38.5^{\circ}$에서 뚜렷하게 나타났다. $NH_4OH$를 침전제로 사용하여 제조한 Cu/(Cu+Ce)의 몰비율이 0.35인 촉매가 가장 높은 활성을 보여주었다. 또한, 수소로 전처리하면 벤젠 연소반응의 활성이 증가하였고, $400^{\circ}C$에서 수소로 전처리한 촉매가 가장 높은 활성을 보여주었다.
