CTBN-PES Block Copolymer에 의한 에폭시 수지의 강인화 연구 (Enhancing Fracture Toughness of Epoxy Resins with CTBN-PES Block Copolymer)

  • 에폭시 수지의 강인성 향상을 위하여 양말단에 아민 반응기를 가지는 PES-CTBN-PES triblock copolymer를 합성하여 이를 에폭시 수지의 강인화제로 사용하였으며 경화제로는 p-DDS(p-dichlorodiphenylsulfone)를 사용하였다. 또한 공중합체에 의한 물성 향상효과를 CTBN과 PES-NH$_2$의 블렌드에 의한 경우와 비교하였다. 강인화된 에폭시 수지의 물성은 강인성 및 굴곡특성을 측정하여 분석하였으며, 열특성은 DSC, TGA, 및 DMA에 의해 실시되었다. 그리고 강인화된 에폭시 수지의 강인성 향상 mechanism을 규명하기 위하여 파단면을 SEM으로 분석하여 상분리 거동을 고찰하였다. 높은 유리전이온도와 우수한 기계적 물성을 가지는 고성능 기능성 폴리설폰(PES-NH$_2$)과 상용 액상 고무 첨가제인 CTBN을 이용하여 합성된 공중합체를 강인화제로 사용함으로써 열안정성, 탄성률 및 내식성의 감소없이 에폭시 수지의 쳐대 단점인 강인성을 최적 수준으로 개선시킬 수 있었으며 공중합체의 에폭시 수지에 대한 우수한 용해도에 따른 가공성이 향상되었다.

  • In this study, block copolymer of polystyrene and polyethylene glycol methyl ether methacrylate(PEGMA) by ATRP(atom transfer radical polymerization) method was synthesized. 4 arm-molecule which contained halogen atom was synthesized for an initiator. With 4 arm-molecule monodispered polystyrene were synthesized by ATRP method. The molecular change of synthesized monodispersed polystyrene with respect to time was investigated and living polymer characteristic was confirmed. Block copolymer of polystyrene and polyethylene glycol methyl ether methacrylate(PEGMA) was synthesized by ATRP with macroinitiator which was synthesized from the monodispersed polystyrene(Mn=12000). The molecular weight of obtained PS-b-PEGMA was 22,000.

MPCE copolymer와 습식 폴리우레탄의 블렌드에 의한 투습방수 나일론 직물의 제반 물성변화에 관한 연구 (Property Evaluation of Breathable Blend Fabric of MPCE Copolymer and Wet Coagulated Polyurethane)

  • The phospholipid-based MPCE(2-Methacryloxyethyl Phosphoryl Chlorine) copolymer was mixed with wet polyurethane for coating of nylon fabrics. The substitution rate of water in coagulation bath with DMF was changed under control of the size of formed hydrophilic microporous cell enable to manufacture excellent breathable, anti-bacterial and moisture control fabrics. Biocompatible property, vapor permeability, hydrostatic pressure, moisture management and anti-bacterial property were investigated for treated nylon fabrics. In result, increased moisture transmission rates, decreased water resistance and outstanding moisture control property could be confirmed by enhanced hydrophilicity of wet-coated nylon fabric with MPCE copolymer.

  • We investigated electric and dielectric properties of MIM device using Maleate Copolymer LB films. The thickness of maleate copolymer LB film by ellipsometry measurements and X-ray diffraction pattern was about 27~30[ ]. The maleate copolymer 13 film have the property of insulator like organic ultra-thin film. The electric conduction was Schottky current measured by I-V characteristics, and the conductivity was 10$^{-15}$ ~10$^{-14}$ [S/cm]. Dielectric constant was about 5.0~6.0 by various measurement: I-V, frequency-depenent dielectric properties. Schottky barrier was about 0.9 ~1.0(eV). By relation between log I and 1/T, activation energy baa 0.74(eV). Frequency-depenent dielectric properties wart orientational polarization by the dipole.

Thermally Induced Mesophase Development in Ethanesilica Films via Macromolecular Templating Approach

  • Mesoporous ethanesilica thin film was prepared using PEO-PLGA-PEO triblock copolymers as structure-directing agents and (1,2-bis(triethoxysilyl) ethane BTESE; bridged organosilicates) as inorganic precursors via one-step sol-gel condensation of ethanesilica precursors. The mesostructure of ethanesilica films is critically dependent on the processing experimental parameters after the hydrolyzed silica sol mixture was spin-cast. This study examined the effects of the block copolymer template/organosilica precursor ratio in the casting solution and aging period before calcination of the mesostructure. It was further demonstrated that mesoscopic ordering of organosilicate thin films is induced by the rearrangement of block copolymer template/organosilica hybrid during thermal decomposition of the PEO-PLGA-PEO triblock copolymer. The mesoporous structure and morphology were characterized by SAXS, TEM and solid-state NMR measurement.

요소(尿素)·멜라민·페놀공축합수지(共縮合樹脂)가 합판(合板)의 재질(材質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Urea-Phenol-Melamine Copolymer Adhesive on the Plywood Qualities)

  • Water soluble urea-melamine-phenol copolymer adhesive manufactured with 80 percent of urea resin contents was manufactured by different molar ratio for a high temperature curing type, and their properties and strengthes were examined through manufactures of plywood with Kapur (Dryobalanops spp.) veneers. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Specific gravities of air dried plywood manufactured from each adhesive ranged from 0.78 to 0.84 and their moisture contents met the KS requirement. 2. In dry and wet shear strength, $U_{80}M_{10}P_{10}$ copolymer resin showed the highest value and urea resin was the lowest, indicating that melamine and phenol were effective for increasing glue shear strength of urea resin. 3. In case of glue shear strength after boiling test, phenolic resin was the nest and melamine was not so effective as phenol on reinforcement of boiling water resistance of urea resin.

pH 의존성 Methacrylic acid 공중합체의 팽윤특성 (pH-dependent Swelling Properties of Methacrylic Acid Copolymer Hydrogels)

  • Equilibrium swelling and pH-sensitivity of a polyelectrolyte copolymer hydrogel were controlled by employing copolymers with different hydrophilic-hydrophobic balances. Model pH-sensitive hydrogels, e.g., poly(methacrylic acid), poly(methacrylic acid-co-acrylamide), poly(methacrylic acid-co-2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate), poly(methacrylic acid-co-styrene) were synthesized at various monomer compositions. As hydrophobicity of the copolymer hydrogels increased, the equilibrium swelling decreased while the pH-sensitivity increased. In the case of poly(methacrylic acid-co-acrylamide), polymer-polymer interaction significantly affected the equilibrium swelling and provided a wide range control of pH-sensitivity.

  • We introduce a new copolymer alignment film made by bridge-building structure. It is a better film to decrease the image-sticking level in LCD displays. It is noted that the image-sticking was decreased by preventing ion mixing between inter-layers through high hardness. We have investigated the electrical characteristics such as pretilt angle, Residual DC, VHR by changing cure temperature and process delay time conditions of the new alignment film. In this paper, we have investigated the solution for the deep-rooted image defect and incidentally got a contrast ratio improvement by high anchoring force and hardness elevation through the new copolymer alignment film.

  • In this work continuous thermodynamics was adopted for describing the influence of copolymer polydispersity on phase separations in random copolymer solutions. Continuous themodynamic frameworks were formulated using the Flory-Huggin's excess Gibbs free energy model in which the concentration- and temperature-depentent terms of interaction parameter x were modified. Cloud-point curves and coexistence curves of poly(ethylene-vinylactate)/methylacetate solutions and poly(ehtylene-vinylacetate)/ethylacetate solutions were measured, and experimental data were fitted with theoretical relations formulated in this work. Calculated could-point curves were more good ageeable with experimental data than the modified Flory-Huggins's relations. Coexistence curves which were evaluated by using parameters of x estimated from experimental cloud-point curves, were found to coincide with experimental data.

  • A new photo-alignment material, copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA), copoly (poly (4-methacryloyloxy) chalcone-cholesterol methacrylate) was synthesized and the electro-optical (EO) characteristics for the photo-aligned vertical-aligned (VA)-LC display (LCD) were studied. Good voltage-transmittance (V-T) and response time characteristics for the photo-aligned VA-LCD with polarized UV exposure on the copolymer-1 (2%) surfaces for 1 min. were observed. EO performance for the photo-aligned VA-LCD decreased with increasing UV exposure time on a copolymer surface. Also, excellent V-T and response time characteristics for the photo-aligned VA-LCD with UV exposure on copolymer-2 and copolymer-3 surfaces for 3min. can be achieved.
