The asymmetric Laplace distribution arises as a limiting distribution of geometric summations of independent and identically distributed random variables with finite second moments. The main purpose of this paper is to study the weak limit theorems for geometric summations of independent (not necessarily identically distributed) random variables together with convergence rates to asymmetric Laplace distributions. Using Trotter-operator method, the orders of approximations of the distributions of geometric summations by the asymmetric Laplace distributions are established in term of the "large-𝒪" and "small-o" approximation estimates. The obtained results are extensions of some known ones.

To improve the physical and chemical properties of the soil and increasing water-retaining property of the soil, Superabsorbent synthetic polymeric materials have been used. The experiment carried out from April to July 2012 after the influence evaluation of Superabsorbent synthetic polymeric materials to vines plant. The result shows that the study of Hedera japonica Tobler, the growth and the survival rates rank as media > hydroponic > superabsorbent synthetic polymers, and the growth and the survival rates are considerably pessimistic in the experiment of hydroponic and superabsorbent synthetic polymers. In the study of Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium, the growth and the survival rates rank as hydroponic > media > superabsorbent synthetic polymers, the difference between the experiment of hydroponic and is very small and the survival rates are not very good in the experiment of superabsorbent synthetic polymers. In the study of Euonymus fortunei var. radicans Rehder,it is insignificantly difference among the different of planting based. Judging from these results, the differences are depending on the species of plants. The thesis holds that the characteristics of plant should be considered in plant cultivation and soil improvement in the future, and it is desirable to use the appropriate mixing ratio of soil in soil improvement as well.

This study aims to identify geographical variations and factors that affect smoking rates. The data are collected from the Community Health Survey conducted between 2009 and 2011 by Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other government organizations. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to examine the factors influencing smoking rates. For the purpose of investigating regional variations, we employed a decision tree model. The study has found that the significant factors associated with geographical variations in the smoking rates were the rate of hazardous drinking, the completion rate of hypertension education, the experience rate of anti-smoking campaigns, stress awareness rate, hypertension prevalence, health insurance cost, diabetes prevalence, obesity rate, and strength training rate. Convergence-based analysis on geographical variations of the smoking rates is highly important when the regionally customized healthcare programs is implemented. In the future, it is necessary to develop effective program and customized approach for the regions of high smoking rates. Our study is expected to be used as meaningful data for the design of effective health care programs and assessments to lead effective non-smoking program.

Color Doppler flow mapping (CDFM) was performed on an $\underline{in\;vitro}$ experimental setup with a regurgitant moving orifice using the proximal isovelocity surface area (PISA) technique. PISA flow rates underestimated actual flow rates by as much as 65%, which is very important in diagnosing patients with valvular regurgitations or stenosis. The correction factor considering the velocity of the orifice improved the PISA flow rates.

In the present note, we study some approximation properties of the Szász type operators based on Charlier polynomials introduced by S. Varma and F. Taşdelen (Math. Comput. Modelling, 56 (5-6) (2012) 108-112). We establish the rates of A-statistical convergence of these operators. Finally, we prove a Voronovskaja type approximation theorem and local approximation theorem via the concept of A-statistical convergence.

We consider two finite difference approxiamations to a singular boundary value problem arising in the study of a nonlinear circular membrane under normal pressure. It is shown that the rates of convergence are O(h) and O($h^2$), respectively. An iterative scheme is introduced which converges to the solution of the finite difference equations. Finally the numerical experiments are given

Probability density or its derivatives may have a discontinuity/change point at an unknown location. We propose a method of estimating the location and the jump size of the discontinuity point based on kernel type density or density derivatives estimators with one-sided equivalent kernels. The rates of convergence of the proposed estimators are derived, and the finite-sample performances of the methods are illustrated by simulated examples.

In this study, we surveyed the current status, satisfaction and demand of radiologic technologist continuing education for 93 radiologic technologists who participated in the continuing education. To understand the current status and general evaluation and to find out the improvement direction, survey was conducted on 3 categories: participation, satisfaction and demand of continuing education. In addition, we analyzed the continuing education implementation status and the management system by collecting related regulations. As a result, the education completion rates of radiologic technologists from 2010 to 2012 were respectively 42.6%, 43.4% and 34.2%; the rates were similar to other medical technician's average education completion rates. According to the survey, in case of participation, the most frequent answer was 'more than five times less than 10 times per year' with 48.4% and in satisfaction section, the most common answer was 'Average(3)' with 34.4%. In demand of continuing education section, 32.8% of the respondents chose 'Clinical skill training in major field'. In the results of this research, continuing education needs to be managed in the direction of helping radiologists improve their personal ability and self development. Furthermore, to meet the demand of radiologists, the quality of continuing education should be improved to satisfy the educatee.

In this study we are concerned with the problem of ap-proximating a locally unique solution of an equation on a Banach space. A semilocal convergence theorem is given for the Super-Halley method in Banach spaces. Earlier results have shown that the order of convergence is four for a certain class of operators [4] [5] [8] These results were not given in affine invariant form and made use of a real quadratic majorizing polynomial. Here we provide our re-sults in affine invariant form showing that the order of convergence is at least four. In cases that it is exactly four the rate of convergence is improved. We achieve these results by using a cubic majorizing polynomial. Some numerical examples are given to show that our error bounds are better than earlier ones.
