A Research on the core PMO function and operation type for the IT project of financial industry in Korea (금융권 핵심 PMO 기능과 운영형태에 관한 연구)

  • The IS project is getting more and more complicated and large-scaled. Many researchers and practitioners are interested in the IS development methodologies, automated tools and techniques, TQM to decrease project failure, and to increase IS performance. But, in spite of such various efforts, the latest Standish Group's research indicates that the project scale is bulkier than $1{\sim}2$ year ago and IS development project's batting average falls from 34% to 28% at the same time, proceeded project is increased, and project discharged arrives to $15%{\sim}18%$. According to a research, success possibility increased by 37% after a year of PMO introduction, and increased sharply by 62% after 2 years and by 65% after S years. This research has a goal to survey how the PMO function and operation type affect the IS project performance in the financial industry. I determine nine independent variables and three dependent variables from previous researches. The results of this study are that the four core functions of PMO have relationship with project performance. But, technical support function does not relate with organization performance. Among the four core PMO operation types, three types have an effect on the IS project performance except the perfectionist type.

  • Nowadays, because IT market expansion and complexity has been progressing and competition has intensified, there is a growth of information system building industries having difficulty through traditional business management methods. A survey was conducted among site personnel (Project Manager PM and Project Participants) to generate an institutional framework to efficiently manage this and project management process support. Through this, the importance of element technology and fragility of software development project management must be understood and an improvement of the element technology must be generated. By using this, a very relevant result that presented a logical basis was obtained in the decision making of the importance of project management and the role of overall project manager and core project management fields.

  • The changes in media environments have impacted on the ways in which knowledges are formed and transmitted and therefore the relevance of the traditional school subjects have been increasingly questioned. In this context, the discourses of the reformation of the 21st century schooling have focused on convergence education and media literacy education. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the fact that the practices of transdisciplinary integrated curriculum focusing on digital media content are grown voluntarily in schools. This research is a case study of a convergence educational project that was initiated by a middle school teacher who designed and implemented a unique program of the transdisciplinary class of Korean focusing on reading webtoons with the linked program of a 'Book Club Activity' that was a part of 'Creative Experiential Activitites'. Based on the analysis of the documents, participatory observation of a main event and the interview with the teacher, this article discusses how the webtoon-focused convergence education project might have achieved meaningful connections between a subject-focused learning and a creative experiences-focused learning; between in and out of school learning spaces; between the real and imaginative worlds; and between the boundaries of the popular culture and the arts. The main finding of the research can be summarized as follows: Firstly, webtoon as the subject of the study can be an effective medium of transdisciplinary integrated curriculum. Secondly, the convergence project based on webtoons can create meaningful learning spaces in and out of school environments in terms of creating more learner-participatory learning culture as well as connecting students' everyday lives, popular arts and their learning about culture. Another important finding of this research is the rediscovery of the teacher's role in terms of mediating the voices of students as readers in the process of constructing and implementing the integrated curriculum.

Development on R&D Performance Measurement by the Type of Projects (프로젝트 유형별 R&D 성과측정 개발)

  • This study studied on innovation and R&D performance measurement, and especially the dimensions of measuring performance. The Empirical study is based on the opinions of 169 experts from a R&D group with a career for SMBA's support. The results reveal that what the most optimal and appropriate measures of project-level success are will depend on the type of innovation involved and the development project type and the relatively low significance of financial measures for innovation projects in general. Additionally, measurability is not major significance factor for selecting measures, whereas the level of innovativeness were to be selected as important factor. The roles of the evaluators are affected. It is expected to help make government policy for R8D performance evaluation.

  • Estimation on SW Sizing applied to fintech is very difficult, a task requiring long time, it is difficult for client companies and developer companies to accurately calculate the size of software development. The size is generally estimated based on the experience of project managers and the general functional scoring method. In this paper, propose a model that can be applied to fintech development projects by quantitatively calculating the required functions from the user's point of view, measuring the scale, and calculating the scale in real time. Through the proposed model, the amount of work can be estimated prior to development and the size can be measured, and the M/M and the estimated quotation amount can be calculated based on the program list by each layer. In future studies, by securing size computation data on existing the Fintech Project in mass, research on accurate size computation would be required.

  • With the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, education on artificial intelligence is one of the important topics. However, since existing education is aimed at knowledge, it is not suitable for developing the active problem-solving ability and AI utilization ability required by artificial intelligence education. To solve this problem, we proposes PBL-based education method in which learners learn in the process of solving the presented problem. The problem presented to the learner is a completed project. This project consists of three types: a classification model, the training data of the classification model, and the block code to be executed according to the classified result. The project works, but each component is designed to perform a low level of operation. In order to solve this problem, the learners can expect to improve their computational thinking skills by finding problems in the project through testing, finding solutions through discussion, and improving to a higher level of operation.

  • It is very important the government project should be supported by enough budget for proceeding. The insufficient budget by poor budget estimating uesd to bring about discontinuing for the project. This is originally caused by inaccuracy for cost estimating about system and evaluating for system requirements on the projet initial phase. The system requirements is technical requirements that converted the user needs and is needs for communicating between stakeholder and developer and manufacturer. Also the system requirements is the primary factor to make the project cost. The cost estimating is not easy due to complication of cost factors and an aberration between cost estimating and actual cost. Specially, on the project initial phase, shortage of detail information for project make more difficult to do cost estimating. This study proposes the architecture for validating proper system requirements by using cost estimations methodology on the project initial phase and shows the computer tool for simulating the proposed architecture.

  • When performing a software development project, the most important thing is building a result with planned quality within development period. Particularly, if the project is delayed or has no good quality in the case of the content software development project which is sensitive to the release time and quality, it is immediately connected to the failure of the whole project. Extreme programming is a methodology that divides the development cycle into smaller units for reducing the risk factor of the project in which the development period is important. In this paper, we suggest the expanded extreme programming which can consider the development period and quality at the same time for content software development environment. The suggested methods are documentation mechanism that is upcoming during the development project and multiple role model which is extended from pair programming method.

  • This article reviews the current issues of engineering education: engineering creativity, R&D 3.0 and Education 3.0 and comfirms need of refining quality of engineering education through learner-centered hybrid project learning. this article suggests the Global engineering project(GEP) program as an ideal hybrid project learning model that develop student's creativity and convergence capability. GEP program is learnner-centered interdisciplinary program that whole processes are managed by interdisciplinary students team aiming to global engineers who are globally competent and locally relevant so that they can function effectively in any country by local activity in developing country. The program consist of four main parts: 1)pre activity, 2)local activity from abroad, 3)design and producing prototype and 4)participating in the design contest or academic conference with the products. As a result, students' global competence, teamwork skill and capability of creative problem solving are remarkably improved.
