The main purpose of this research was to examine what were the factors of shopping value that consumers perceived, if there is any difference between male and female, and if male and female consumer group were divided into different groups according to the pursuing shopping value type. Data were solicited from convenience sample of 347 adults(156 male and 191 female) who were between 19 to 49 years of age. Sources for the sample were companies and apartment complexes and several colleges in Seoul and Chonan to diversify by such demographics as age and social status. The statistical methods used for this study are factor analysis and cluster analysis and Scheffe test using a SPSS 10.00 GLM. The main findings are as follows: First, four dimensions of clothing shopping values were identified as pleasure, planned, leisure, and convenience value. For male, it appeared in the order of pleasure, leisure, planned, and convenience shopping value and for female, it appeared in the order of pleasure, planned, leisure, and convenience shopping value. The most important subdimension of clothing shopping value was 'pursuing pleasure' and the least important one was 'convenience' regardless of gender. Second, three types of consumer groups for male & female were identified. For male consumers, it appeared as planned, leisure/convenience, and pleasure pursuing group. For female consumers, it appeared as pleasure, convenience, and leisure shopping pursuing group. Here, pleasure is a common factors to affect shopping itself free from gender, but male does shopping with plan and female with pleasure.
Purpose - Understanding how service convenience drives shopping performance is imperative for retailers such as department and large discount stores. Retailers have to enhance shopping productivity by reducing the costs of shopping, as convenience triggers customers' perceived shopping value, leading to customer satisfaction, and ultimately patronage behavior. Consumers, generally considering time as a scarce resource, are more sensitive to the time costs of tasks in regard to shopping trip, differently from forming perceptions of convenience in time orientation. Therefore, this study attempts to examine the moderating effects of consumers' time orientation on the relationships among service convenience of retailers and shopping performances such as shopping value and service performances. Research design, data, and methodology - The department and discount store chains were chosen as the point of analysis in this study. Data were collected from a survey of real-life consumers and all respondents were screened to ensure only those who had visited in the department and discount store chains within past six month prior to the day of data collection. Out of 600 self-reported surveys that were distributed, a total of 530 responses were returned and after excluding 20 incomplete responses, the final sample size was 510. The three hypotheses were proposed and tested in this study. The one hypothesis was on the moderating effects of time orientation for the effects of service convenience on shopping value (hedonic and utilitarian shopping value). The other two hypotheses were on the comparisons between high and low time-oriented customers with the effects in shopping value from service performance. Hierarchical moderated regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. Results - The results suggest that the effect of service convenience on utilitarian shopping value and the positive effect of utilitarian shopping value on customer satisfaction are greater in low time orientation than high time orientation customers. Conversely, when customers are highly oriented toward time, the effects of hedonic shopping value on customer satisfaction and revisit intention are greater than for customers who are lowly oriented toward time. Conclusions - This study has two-fold significance. First, this study contributes to the consumer behavior and services marketing literature by incorporating customers' time orientation into the service convenience-shopping performance. Although the effect of service convenience on shopping performance might differ from customers' perceptions concerning shopping, there has been little investigation or comparison between customers' perception on time. This study is a first attempt to consider how the effects of service convenience on shopping value and service performance vary with differing levels of customers' time orientation. This study advances prior studies by showing that the service convenience-shopping value and service convenience-service performance relationships vary across different combinations of the customer's time orientation. The findings of this study suggest that the retailers need to enhance the experiential aspects of the stores for their high time-oriented customers. Conversely, for the low time-oriented customers, the retailers should boost the visual distinctiveness and ease of store navigation.
This study was conducted to explore the causal relationship between the characteristics of mobile shopping mall use and the effect on the intention to use mobile shopping malls through perceived value (hedonic value and utilitarian value). Specifically, this study defined the usage characteristics of mobile shopping malls as accessibility, convenience, and enjoyment, respectively, and attempted to explain the relationship on the intention of use through perceived value. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that enjoyment had a positive (+) effect on hedonic value. However, it was found that convenience did not affect hedonic value. On the other hand, contrary to expectations, accessibility was found to have a negative (-) effect on hedonic value. Second, it was found that accessibility and convenience had a positive (+) effect on utilitarian value. However, it was found that pleasure did not affect utilitarian value. Third, it was found that utilitarian value had a positive (+) effect on the intention to use mobile shopping, while hedonic value did not affect the intention to use mobile shopping. Through this, it is meaningful to provide mobile shopping users with solutions to improve their restrictions in the shopping process.
This study demonstrates how the composition of VM based on regulatory focus influences shopping value and how shopping value influences shopping satisfaction. A survey form was developed and 90 copies were used for analysis. SPSS 19.0 for Windows Package was used to perform frequency analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results of the study were: First, convenience of VM had a significantly positive (+) influence on utilitarian shopping value. Second, both utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value had a statistically significant influence on shopping satisfaction. Third, in terms of promotion focus, suitability, fashionableness, reconcilability, and attractiveness of VM had a significantly positive (+) influence on the hedonic shopping value. In terms of preventive focus, convenience and reconcilability of VM had a significantly positive (+) influence on utilitarian shopping value, and convenience, suitability, and fashionableness had a significantly positive (+) influence on hedonic shopping value. In the promotion focus, both utilitarian shopping value and the hedonic shopping value had a significantly positive (+) influence on shopping satisfaction. In the preventive focus only the utilitarian shopping value had a significantly positive (+) influence on shopping satisfaction.

This study is about the change in the importance of shopping value for beauty products of social commerce due to the social crisis or risk caused by COVID-19. It was analyzed focusing on whether the importance of shopping value changed before and after COVID-19. We checked the importance of shopping value after COVID-19 through the AHP results of previous papers before COVID-19, and analyzed the importance by adding variables of risk reduction behavior and delivery convenience according to the situation of COVID-19. The AHP method was used to check the change in the importance of shopping value before and after COVID-19, and the study was conducted using 48 data. The results were as follows. As for the importance of shopping value of social commerce beauty products, it was ranked in the order of time convenience, convenience of delivery, third-ranked trust business operators, fourth-ranked economic aspects, fifth-ranked decision support, sixth-ranked risk reduction behavior, and seventh-ranked business reputation. Compared to previous studies, decision-making support, which was in the second place, fell to the fifth place. This result was confirmed to be a drop in ranking due to the improvement of delivery convenience due to the influence of COVID-19. In addition, in the case of beauty products, it was confirmed that risk reduction behavior related to COVID-19 infection is not a key factor in shopping value. These results confirmed changes in the importance of shopping value compared to pre-COVID-19 studies, and in the case of product groups other than beauty products, further studies are expected as there is a possibility of other results.

Web 2.0 has affected existing e-commerce and created a new business model of e-commerce, known as social commerce. Social commerce is a subset of e-commerce using social network services and is emerging as an important platform due to increased popularity of social networking services. This study focuses on analyzing the factors that influence the shopping value and intention to repurchase of social commerce users. Based on prior researches, we develop a research model, including individual characteristics of social commerce users (Collectivism, Price Sensitivity, Impulse Buying) and social commerce characteristics (Cost saving, Product Variety, Shopping Convenience). Furthermore, this study proposed the moderating effect of Perceived Security and the relationship between shopping value and intention to repurchase. To empirically validate, the data were collected from 220 social commerce users. The results indicated that individual characteristics (collectivism, price sensitivity, impulse buying) were positively related to hedonic shopping value. In addition, social commerce characteristics (cost saving, shopping convenience) were positively related to utilitarian value. The shopping value(hedonic and utilitarian) had a significant influence on intention to repurchase. The moderating effects of perceived security also was significant. Lastly, the implications for theory and practice are discussed.
