Computer-Interfacing Development for Propeller-Anemometer

  • A Propeller-Anemometer is an instrument used specifically, to measure the wind speed. The accurate measurement of the wind speed is vitally important such required by any weather stations. In this research, the measurand of the instrumentation was the rotational speed of the propeller and the instrumentation result or output data was wind velocity. The speed measured was recorded digitally in the computer by using specific software. A specific sensor used to measure a variable by converting information of the variable (rotational speed of the propeller) into a dependent signal such as electrical signal in form of voltage. The development of Propeller-Anemometer involved few sets of instrumentation process and equipment. It included three major parts, mechanical, electronics and computer. The main instrumentation processes were physical and signal interfacing, signal conditioning, logic interfacing, data transmission to computer and processing the data. Generally, this paper presents the overall concept and design of Propeller-Anemometer Instrumentation. However, an emphasis was mainly in designing and building the interfacing system, hardware and software. Basically, for the first phase of the development, this project designed and built the RS232 terminal using Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC), PIC16F873. The hardware can be interfaced to computer or other compatible devices. This routine converted input voltage from the circuit to speed (velocity) and transmitted them afterwards to the target device by using the RS232 transmission protocol. This implementation implied a computer display as visual interface. For the purpose of this paper, RS232 data transmission was carried out using a Microsoft Visual Basic software routine.

A Study on Rural Women Leader's Action in Pattern and Doing in Style Based on Self Motivation Control (여성농업인 리더의 사고행동 패턴과 직무지향 특성에 관한 일 고찰)

  • According to shift of the political focus from agricultural productivity to social development, it has been increased importance of local leader in rural society. Especially rural women leader's role has been increased not only in agricultural business but also in social activity of locality. Although a lot of leadership study related to rural community development, it has been very scarcely study about leader's action in pattern or doing in style based on psychological scale. Therefore this a kind of pilot study on that. For this data, it was gathered from 24 female farmer leaders of a federation group in 2005. In this study, to define the action in pattern or doing in style of leader, it was adopted to Ozasz Yoshihisa's scale which is consisted of 40 items into 8 types. From analysis of female farmer leader's action in pattern or doing in style, most of them were belong to volunteer type, generalist type, farmer type. This menas most of them were head toward maintenance of the present status, keeping one's balance, adaptation oneself to new environment, or acceptance the logic of events, not trying to innovate. But it was not clear that any variable has a relation in the action in pattern or the doing in style, for definition of variables, it should be more detailed study.

Critical Conduction Mode BOOST Type Solar Array Regulator (임계모드 부스트형 태양전력 조절기)

  • A DC-DC Converter operates in CCM(Continuous Coundcution Mode), DCM(Discontinuous Conduction Mode), CRM(Critical Conduction Mode). The CRM is boundary between CCM and DCM. If a DC-DC converter is designed to operate in CRM, its inductor volume can decrease and power loss which caused by switch and diode can decrease. In this paper, the DC-DC converter which operates in CRM is applied to a solar array regulator(SAR) for the satellite. The switching frequency of the CRM boost SAR changes according to input and output condition. The switching frequency limit logic is applied to limit the maximum switching frequency. Meanwhile, the small signal transfer function of the CRM boost SAR is simple, so the controller design is also simple. In this paper, the small signal transfer function from control reference to solar array voltage is induced. And the voltage controller is designed based on the small signal transfer function. Finally, the CRM boost SAR is verified by simulation.

  • In this paper, we proposed a hardware(H/W) structure which can compress and recontruct the input image in real time operation and implemented it into a FPGA platform using VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language). All the image processing element to process both compression and reconstruction in a FPGA were considered each of them was mapped into a H/W with the efficient structure for FPGA. We used the DWT(discrete wavelet transform) which transforms the data from spatial domain to the frequency domain, because use considered the motion JPEG2000 as the application. The implemented H/W is separated to both the data path part and the control part. The data path part consisted of the image processing blocks and the data processing blocks. The image processing blocks consisted of the DWT Kernel for the filtering by DWT, Quantizer/Huffman Encoder, Inverse Adder/Buffer for adding the low frequency coefficient to the high frequency one in the inverse DWT operation, and Huffman Decoder. Also there existed the interface blocks for communicating with the external application environments and the timing blocks for buffering between the internal blocks. The global operations of the designed H/W are the image compression and the reconstruction, and it is operated by the unit or a field synchronized with the A/D converter. The implemented H/W used the 54%(12943) LAB(Logic Array Block) and 9%(28352) ESB(Embedded System Block) in the APEX20KC EP20K600CB652-7 FPGA chip of ALTERA, and stably operated in the 70MHz clock frequency. So we verified the real time operation. that is. processing 60 fields/sec(30 frames/sec).

Fuzzy Controller for Nonlinear Systems Using Optimal Pole Placement (최적 극점 배치를 이용한 비선형 시스템의 퍼지 제어기)

  • This paper addresses the analysis and design of fuzzy-model-based controller for nonlinear systems using extended PDC and optimal pole-placement schemes. In the design procedure, we represent the nonlinear system using a Takagi-Sugeno fkzy model and formulate the controller rules by using the extended parallel distributed compensator (EPDC) and construct an overall fuzzy logic controller by blending all local state feedback controllers with an optimal pole-placement scheme. Unlike the commonly used parallel distributed compensation technique, by blending a newly extended parallel distributed compensator and the optimal poleplacement schemes, we can design not only a local stable k z y controller but also an overall stable fuzzy controller to perform the tacking control objective. Furthermore, a stability analysis is carried out not only for the fuzzy model but also for a real nonlinear system. Finally. the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed fizzy model-based controller design method has been shown through a simulation example.

Discussion on the Background of the Baekeuihosang Phenomenon in Korea - Focusing on Baekeuigo written by Yoo, Changseon - (한국에서 백의호상(白衣好尙) 현상이 고착된 배경에 관한 논의 - 유창선(劉昌宣)의 백의고(白衣考)를 중심으로 -)

  • Korean people have revered the white color and enjoyed wearing white clothes. Various kinds of white clothes have been worn by the Korean people, ranging from everyday wear(便服), and scholar's robe(深衣) for the upper class, to religious costumes like Buddhist monk's robe(僧服), shaman costumes(巫服) and costumes for ancestral rites(祭服), or mourning(喪服). There have been many differing opinions by historians regarding the background of this Baekeuihosang(白衣好尙, the preference for white clothing) tradition and even now, it is frequently being discussed. This study aims to consider and discuss the background of this Baekeuihosang tradition, focusing on Chang-seon Yoo's Baekeuigo(白衣考, the consideration of white clothing), which was published in Dong-A Ilbo in 1934. The purposes of studying literature such as the Baekeuigo is to analyze the arguments on the origin of Baekeuihosang, to analyze Chang-seon Yoo's claim of its origin, and to discuss the culture of Baekeuihosang. Chang-seon Yoo claimed that the existing discussions on the background of Baekeuihosang based on the lack of dyes, or undeveloped technique, economic privation and national control strayed from historical facts, according to literature review. It is not worth discussing the farfetched arguments such as the use of costumes for ancestral rites as everyday wears, or the nation of sorrow. Baekeuihosang tradition mostly originated from the effects of many religions and the taste for innocence, or naturalness. White clothes were infused with the sorrow and emotion of Korean people and were also worn to show resistance to foreign power as symbols of ethnicity. Therefore, there should be a new view of the discussion of white clothes and Korean aesthetic sense, away from the logic distorted by the Japanese colonial view of history.

Research and Development of a 2.9 Liter Light-duty DME Truck Using Common Rail Fuel Injection Systems (커먼레일 연료분사 시스템을 장착한 2.9 리터급 경량 DME 트럭의 연구 및 개발)

  • In this study, the trucks(2.9-liter) have been developed to use DME as fuel, and performance test of the vehicle's DME engine, power, emissions, fuel economy and vehicle aspects was conducted. For experiments, the fuel system(common-rail injectors and high-pressure pump included) and the engine control logic was developed, and ECU mapping was performed. As a result, the rail pressure from 40MPa to approximately 65% increase compared to the base injector has been confirmed that. Also, the pump discharge flow is 15.5 kg/h when the fuel rail pressure is 400rpm(40MPa), and the pump discharge flow is 92.1 kg/h when the fuel rail pressure is 2,000rpm(40MPa). The maximum value of full-load torque capability is 25.5 kgfm(based on 2,000 rpm), and more than 90% compared to the level of the diesel engine were obtained. The DME vehicle was developed in this study, 120 km/h can drive to the stable, and calculated in accordance with the carbon-balance method of fuel consumptions is 5.7 km/L.

Grout Injection Control using AI Methodology (인공지능기법을 활용한 그라우트의 주입제어)

  • The utilization of AS(Artificial Intelligence) and Database could be considered as an useful access for the application of underground information from the point of a geotechnical methodology. Its detailed usage has been recently studied in many fields of geo-sciences. In this paper, the target of usage is on controlling the injection of grout which more scientific access is needed in the grouting that has been used a major method in many engineering application. As the proposals for this problem it is suggested the methodology consisting of a fuzzy-neural hybrid system and a database. The database was firstly constructed for parameters dynamically varied according to the conditions of rock mass during the injection of grout. And then the conceptional model for the fuzzy-neural hybrid system was investigated fer optimally finding the controlling range of the grout valve. The investigated model applied to four cases, and it is found that the controlling range of the grout valve was reasonably deduced corresponding to the mechanical phenomena occurred by the injection of grout. Consequently, the algorithm organizing the fuzzy-neural hybrid system and the database as a system can be considered as a tool for controlling the injection condition of grout.

Development of Operation Scenarios by HILS for the Energy Storage System Operated with Renewable Energy Source (HILS를 이용한 신재생 에너지원이 포함된 에너지 저장시스템의 운영 시나리오 개발)

  • According to government policy, renewable energy facility such as solar power generation is being implemented for newly constructed buildings. In recent years, the introduction of Energy Storage System (ESS) served as an emergency power for replacing an existing diesel generator has been increasing. Furthermore, in order to expand the efficacy of the ESS operation, operation in combination with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power generation is increasing. Hence, development of the ESS operation algorithms for emergency mode as well as the peak power cut mode, which is the essential feature of ESS, are necessary. The operational scenarios of ESS need to consider load power requirement and the amount of the power generation by renewable energy sources. For the verification of the developed scenarios, tests under the actual situation are demanded, but there is a difficulty in simulating the emergency operation situation such as system failure in the actual site. Therefore, this paper proposes simulation models for the HILS(Hardware In the Loop Simulation) and operation modes developed through HILS for the ESS operated with renewable energy source under peak power reduction and emergency modes. The paper shows that the ESS operation scenarios developed through HILS work properly at the actual site, and it verifies the effectiveness of the control logic developed by the HILS.

VMProtect Operation Principle Analysis and Automatic Deobfuscation Implementation (VMProtect 동작원리 분석 및 자동 역난독화 구현)

  • Obfuscation technology delays the analysis of a program by modifying internal logic such as data structure and control flow while maintaining the program's functionality. However, the application of such obfuscation technology to malicious code frequently occurs to reduce the detection rate of malware in antivirus software. The obfuscation technology applied to protect software intellectual property is applied to the malicious code in reverse, which not only lowers the detection rate of the malicious code but also makes it difficult to analyze and thus makes it difficult to identify the functionality of the malicious code. The study of reverse obfuscation techniques that can be closely restored should also continue. This paper analyzes the characteristics of obfuscated code with the option of Pack the Output File and Import Protection among detailed obfuscation technologies provided by VMProtect 3.4.0, a popular tool among commercial obfuscation tools. We present a de-obfuscation algorithm.
