This paper investigates the effects of soaking on a lime stabilized high plasticity clay and evaluates the implications for pavement design. In this context, the soil was stabilized by 4%, 6% and 9% hydrated lime. The soil was pulverized in two different gradations so that representative field gradations could be simulated. Both soil pulverization levels passed the relevant field gradation criteria. Curing durations were chosen as 7 days, 28 days and 56 days. Two groups of samples were prepared and were tested in unconfined compression test apparatus to measure the strength and secant modulus at failure values. One of the groups was tested immediately after curing. The other group of samples were first cured and then subjected to soaking for ten days before testing. Visual observations were made on the samples during the soaking period. The results showed the superiority of fine soil pulverization over coarse soil pulverization for unsoaked conditions in terms of strength and modulus values. Soaking of the samples affected the unconfined compressive strength and modulus values based on lime content, curing duration and soil pulverization level. In soaked samples, fine soil pulverization resulted in higher strength and modulus values compared to coarse soil pulverization. However, even with fine soil pulverization, effects of soaking on modulus values were more significant. A new term named as "Soaking Influence Factor (SIF)" was defined to compare the reduction in strength and modulus due to soaking. The data was compared with the relevant design guidelines and an attempt was made to include Soaking Influence Factors for strength and modulus (SIFS and SIFM) into pavement design processes. Two equations which correlated secant modulus at failure to unconfined compressive strength were proposed based on the samples subjected to soaking. The results of this study showed that in order to decrease the diverse effects of soaking for lime stabilized soils, soil pulverization level should be kept as fine as possible in the field. Importance of proper drainage precautions in the pavements is highlighted for better performance of the pavements.
So far, the behaviors of Web users have been predicted or analyzed mostly by their demographic characteristics or by considering in which context they gain access to that. But now there is a question about whether those characteristics are the only factors to trigger their use of Web. If the answer is not affirmative, what types of additional factors could cause such an action and how they characterize it should be discussed. User profile information has been considered one of the crucial elements to define user characteristics in user-centered UI design sector, and in order to apply it to UI design, it's needed to meditate on the above-mentioned questions. In this study, it's first attempted to have a good understanding of the users of different media and to review existing user classification methods. Next, user classification variables and relevant scales were prepared to sort out users according to their type of using Web, and case study was conducted to identify the behavioral characteristics of users and classify them according to their behavioral features. Finally, the user profile features of individual user groups were figured out based on data that were gathered by making an experiment, and data mapping was fulfilled between the behavioral characteristics and user profile characteristics to find out what types of behaviors were caused by the characteristics of user profile. As a result, it's found that user characteristics could have an impact on not only their general information and relevant contexts but their attitude of using different media and personality type. There were some problems with the experimental design, but more accurate information on the relationship of user behaviors to user profile characteristics will be obtained if those problems are eliminated. As user behaviors could be predicted only by user profile characteristics, user classification is expected to make a contribution to enhancing the efficiency of UI design.
Consumers have been increasing their interests in firms' ethicality as well as in the features of the firms' products when they decide to purchase a certain product. Recently, fair trade is considered to be a type of ethical marketing in the business-to-consumer market. In this regard, the effects of fair trade-based marketing on firm performance have become the center of academic and managerial concerns. Despite this importance, few studies have investigated whether fair-trade is a source of competitive advantage or just a cost of doing business. The present research attempts to provide evidence of how fair trade-based marketing influences competitive advantage. Two experimental studies were conducted to explore consumers' purchase intention, which can be a proxy of competitive advantage, in a foreign product-consumption context. Drawing on the stakeholder theory, the first study was performed to examine the effects of fair trade marketing on consumers' purchase intention through a within-subjects design. In addition, building on the signal theory, the second study was executed to test the effects of a fair trade mark on consumers' purchase intention. The findings of the current research reveal that consumers prefer fair trade-based products to others and that when it comes to fair trade-certified products, consumers are more likely to purchase products with that certification than otherwise, even when those products are sold at higher costs than rival products. Interestingly, the results of this research present that there is a significant difference of consumers' purchase intention of a fair trade-based product between two different marketers. This implies that fair trade-based products should be differentially distributed and targeted at a certain type of consumers.
The purpose of this study is to develop a on-line design tool for effectively coping with e-Business environment, or product design process into a Cyber model for traditional manufacturers which attempts new product development under such environment. It was finally developed as a model named $\ulcorner$Design Vortal Site; e-BVDS) that was based on the structure and style of internet web site. Results of the study can be described as follows ; \circled1 e-Business is based on the Internet. All processes in the context of e-Business require models whose structure and method of use are on-line styles. \circled2 In case that a traditional manufacturing business is converted into e-Business, it is better to first consider Hybrid Model that combines resources and advantages of both such traditional and digital businesses. \circled3 The product design process appropriate for e-Business environment has to have a structure and style that ensure utilization of the process as an Internet web site, active participation by product developers and interactive communication between participants in designing and designers. \circled4 $\ulcorner$e-BDVS) makes possible the use of designers around the wend like in-house designers, overcoming lack in creativity, ideas and human resources traditional business organizations face. However, the operation of $\ulcorner$e-BDVS$\lrcorner$ requires time and budget investments in securing related elements and conditions. \circled5 Cyber designers under $\ulcorner$e-BDVS$\lrcorner$ can easily perform all design projects in cyber space. But they have some limits in playing a role as designers and they have difficulty in getting rewards if such projects completed by them are not finally accepted. \circled6 $\ulcorner$e-BDVS) ensures the rapid use of a wide range of design information and data, reception of a variety of solutions and ideas and effective design development, all of which are not possible through traditional processes. However, this process may not be suitable to be used routine process or tool. \circled7 $\ulcorner$e-BDVS$\lrcorner$ makes it possible for out-sourcing or partners businesses to overcome restrictions in time and space and improve productivity and effectiveness. But such they may have to continue off-line works that can not be treated on-line.

The purpose of this study is to design the framework of evaluation on learner's cognitive skill for artificial intelligence(AI) education through computational thinking. To design the rubric and framework for evaluating the change of leaner's intrinsic thinking, the evaluation process was consisted of a sequential stage with a) agency that cognitive learning assistance for data collection, b) abstraction that recognizes the pattern of data and performs the categorization process by decomposing the characteristics of collected data, and c) modeling that constructing algorithms based on refined data through abstraction. The evaluating framework was designed for not only the cognitive domain of learners' perceptions, learning, behaviors, and outcomes but also the areas of knowledge, competencies, and attitudes about the problem-solving process and results of learners to evaluate the changes of inherent cognitive learning about AI education. The results of the research are meaningful in that the evaluating framework for AI education was developed for the development of individualized evaluation tools according to the context of teaching and learning, and it could be used as a standard in various areas of AI education in the future.
The purpose of this research is to study the types of name spectrum and their characteristics of domestic men's wear brands focusing on formal and casual wear and also examine the differences based on the type of brands' product and brand style. Total 184 of men's wear brands, which were consisted of 66 formal wear brands and 84 casual wear brands, were selected from '2009 Korea Fashion Yearbook'. For data analysis, quantitatively evaluated the frequency and qualitatively evaluated the image of brand product and the meaning of brand name. The result as follows; 1. The domestic fashion brands for men's wear appeared to have four types of name spectrum. The descriptive name was the most frequently showed, and followed by arbitrary, suggestive, and coined name. For formal wear brands, four types of name spectrum were appeared in the order of descriptive, suggestive, coined, and arbitrary name. In casual wear brands, three types of name spectrum were appeared in the order of descriptive, arbitrary, and suggestive name. 2. The characteristics of men's brand name according to their name spectrum was as follows.; In the descriptive brand names, person's name was used the most and some ascribed the characteristics, feature or geographic location of the product. The suggestive brand names contained images and symbols of the product and also implied the relevant benefit information in a particular product context. In the arbitrary brand name, they imply the various meanings according to the product and are made up of either coined or natural. For the coined name, some bear the ideology or symbolized the characteristics of product itself. 3. The descriptive name spectrum showed the most in domestic menswear brands, regardless of the brand type. Except this, there were differences in the type and the frequency of name spectrum depending on the brand type.
Today, the enormous expense of advertising rates is invested in Korea. And, the increased effect of advertisement is reasonable in proportion to the investment. In this context, the presentation strategy of the spread advertisement is the meaningful theme in advertisement sphere. The purpose of this study is to clarify the role of spread advertisement in newspaper and to investigate the strategy for the effect of it. For the purpose of it, this research examines cases of the advertisement in the newspaper in Korea, and analyzes the presentation strategy based on the methodology of presentation. The results of the study are as follows The effect of spread advertisement is connected with the presentation method, the space of a newspaper and the advertisement intention. It has to be considered that the case which is confused and intemperate brings about the consumer's antipathy. And so the application of spread advertisement in newspaper needs the prudent trial and the pertinent presentation of it.
Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the articles published in the Journal of Korean Biological Nursing Science from 1999 when it began to 2010. Methods: One hundred seventy eight articles were reviewed using analysis criteria developed by the researchers. Results: Thirty-one percent of the research was supported financially. The most used key concepts were in the health and environment domain. For study design, experimental studies were 50.56%, especially quasi-experimental design was most frequently used (22.47%). Selection of subjects by convenience sampling was most frequent (82.58%). The major subjects of study were adult patients (25.68%). Forty-eight percent of the research had verbal consent and 11% had written consent from the participants. Exercise was common intervention (27.87%) in experimental studies. Physiologic indicators (31.65%), cognitive indicator (25.38%), psychosocial indicator (13.21%) and physical indicator (7.31%) were frequently used as a measurement tool. For data analysis, descriptive statistics (28.99%), t-test (15.06%), chi-square test (11.69%) and ANOVA (9.89%) were most frequently used. Conclusion: The number of research papers published in the Journal of Korean Biological Nursing Science has increased. Research topics varied and were mostly conducted on the basis of logical positivism. Further research should be more empirical enough to be utilized in an actual nursing care context.
The purpose of this study aims to investigate the characteristics of architectural association methods which apply Hall's poetic concept by looking into how Hall extracts languages and images under what circumstances and by analyzing how the extracted elements are integrated into an architectural space through what association processes. First of all, poetic association functions in the architectural process are compared, and the value of using visual associations in architectural designs are investigated based on the results of the analysis. Next, Steven Holl's poetic concept is investigated in the context of the concept extraction step, the idea expansion step, and the space composition step in order to find out how such association methods work in the process of architectural designs. The methods of reproducing, changing and using Steven Holl's poetic concept can be summarized as follows in relation with experiential associations, multi-meaning associations and morphology associations: 1) Steven Holl's experiential associations are a method of expressing perceived images in the form of languages in the process of interpreting land and programs. This method has the characteristics of reproducing various architectural ideas by generating a relationship between invisible characteristics of land in images and languages. 2) Steven Holl's multi-meaning associations are a method of directly associating a project with related objects and incidents, or of coming up with a hidden meaning. It has the characteristics of changing ambiguous images of metaphoric, figurative or ironic languages into concrete architectural images. 3) Steven Holl's morphology associations is a method of expressing morphology images and languages which are directly related to the images. Morphology associations have the characteristics of regenerating sensory experience elements into languages or images, which can be seen experiential associations; or they use metaphoric images in architecture by substituting them with other architectural elements, which can be seen in multi-meaning associations.
The purpose of this study was to propose conceptual Structure of the study of industrial education based on the concepts and characteristics of industrial education.
