The purpose of this study was to examine mathematics teachers' perceptions of multicultural education. To achieve this goal, the study explored how 10 elementary mathematics teachers noticed multicultural content in a mathematics textbook. Building upon noticing framework (Jacobs, Lamb, & Philipp, 2010), we first examined teachers' attention toward multicultural content in a mathematics textbook. Then, we examined teachers' interpretation of the content. We employed a content analysis approach to examine the collected data. The results indicated that most mathematics teachers held a content integration perspective. Their view was that "multicultural education" referred to learning about the diverse cultures of different countries. Moreover, although they noticed some multicultural content in the textbook, they wanted to discuss them in superficially descriptive ways and avoid talking about social justice issues. Additionally, some teachers believed that mathematics is a culture-free subject. They argued that multicultural content should not be presented in mathematics textbooks. We also discussed uncommon themes, which were reported by only a few mathematics teachers.

In information security and network management, attacks based on vulnerabilities have grown in importance. Malicious attackers break into hosts using a variety of techniques. The most common method is to exploit known vulnerabilities. Although patches have long been available for vulnerabilities, system administrators have generally been reluctant to patch their hosts immediately because they perceive the patches to be annoying and complex. To solve these problems, we propose a security vulnerability evaluation and patch framework called PKG-VUL, which evaluates the software installed on hosts to decide whether the hosts are vulnerable and then applies patches to vulnerable hosts. All these operations are accomplished by the widely used simple network management protocol (SNMP). Therefore, system administrators can easily manage their vulnerable hosts through PKG-VUL included in the SNMP-based network management systems as a module. The evaluation results demonstrate the applicability of PKG-VUL and its performance in terms of devised criteria.

Research on the Development of EPUB SCP(Secure Content Protection) Technical Specification and International Standardization has been carried out as a R&D project granted by the Korea Copyright Commission since 2014. The research aims to build a standard framework for the EPUB DRM(Digital Rights Management) based on the Readium LCP(Licensed Content Protection) and KS EPUB DRM specifications, to develop element technologies for the framework, and to standardize it as an IDPF(International Digital Publishing Forum) industrial standard. One of the essential features of the EPUB DRM developed though this study is to support the lending model of the digital library. This paper introduces LSD(License Status Document) specification which is a DRM license management protocol for the digital library lending process, and also represents a model which can automatically test the implemented entities of the LSD specification, test scenarios and test materials.

This study developed an integrated management framework for KM, consisting of four major management objects and organizational initiatives: managerial and technical initiatives. Based on the developed framework, it proposes a stage model of organizational KM from Initiation, Propagation, Integration to Networking stage with detail explanations focusing on management goals and activities. To validate the proposed stage model, this study conducted a preliminary study with a latent content analysis of 15 KM cases. Form the results, though is could not validate the time sequence of each stage because of the limited information of cases, it shows meaningful findings in that there are a kind of relationship among management goals, activities and characteristics of management object of cases.

This paper analyzes the requirements of an ideal augmented-reality contents authoring tool that can allow non-programmers as content creators to author contents easily and quickly. To satisfy the requirements, we employ the approach using formal and visual specification techniques. In this paper, we also introduce an integrated augmented-reality framework for the ideal authoring tool, and demonstrate the effectiveness of our research results by illustrating an example content.

In this study, collaboration of teacher librarians and subject teachers in school libraries has been investigated(tried, attempted, suggested) in order to improve the information literacy. The effective teaching-learning can be conducted by extending student's roles, which are essential elements in school education. Above all, the model. focused on direct exchange of knowledges in communications between teachers and students has been suggested with consideration of content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and technological knowledge.

The effective extraction of key frames from a video stream is an essential task for summarizing and representing the content of a video. Accordingly, this paper proposes a new and fast method for extracting key frames from a compressed video. In the proposed approach, after the entire video sequence has been segmented into elementary content units, called shots, key frame extraction is performed by first assigning the number of key frames to each shot, and then distributing the key frames over the shot using a probabilistic approach to locate the optimal position of the key frames. Moreover, we implement our proposed framework in Android to confirm the validity, availability and usefulness. The main advantage of the proposed method is that no time-consuming computations are needed for distributing the key frames within the shots and the procedure for key frame extraction is completely automatic. Furthermore, the set of key frames is independent of any subjective thresholds or manually set parameters.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is an upcoming standard in Korea used to provide mobile multimedia broadcasting service based on the Eureka-147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. The current dominant multimedia coding standard, MPEG-4, is foreseen to play an important role in forthcoming DMB services. However, the current approaches for transporting MPEG-4 content over DMB networks are not optimized. To address this issue we propose a novel MPEG-4 stream multiplexer, called M4SMux, which provides better stream multiplexing and delivery over DMB networks. M4SMux features an MPEG-4 elementary-stream interleaving mechanism that reduces the multiplexing overhead and a multiplex configuration mechanism that utilizes M4SLinkTable for easy content access. In addition, we propose an error correction method which enhances transport efficiency.

This study aims to explore the status of e-learning in the public sector institutes of the Sukkur region in Pakistan. A survey was conducted to collect data from students and teachers regarding their awareness, access, and use of e-learning resources. The results showed that although there is a widespread use of the internet and mobile devices for accessing information, there is a lack of awareness and access to e-learning resources. Barriers to accessing e-learning content and a lack of familiarity with e-learning content development technologies were also identified. The study concludes that there is a need for improved e-learning facilities and curriculum in the public sector institutes of the Sukkur region in Pakistan. Recommendations are provided for developing a correctness-centered e-learning based curriculum that is tailored to the specific needs of the students in the region. It is hoped that the findings of this study will inform efforts to improve the teaching and learning process in the region and provide students with greater flexibility and access to study materials.

This study was intended to point out the limit of existing digital content-centered studies, or approaches from the viewpoint of the supplier and in the aspect of business profit model and find ways to assess the quality of digital content, considering the characteristics of digital content. For this, the study is to apply value innovation strategy to digital content assessment, to analyze the applicability, and to propose a new and practical framework for digital content assessment method. To this end, this study selected the global No. 1 search service provider Google and local portal site Naver search service. The study on assessment factors by value innovation strategy was based on existing literature, while user-value elements in that respect were confined to information quality, interactivity, communication, interactive storytelling, and usability. This study objectified the relation with the value innovation strategic analysis, through qualitative and quantitative analyses on value elements of search service users.
