Electrochemical Properties of Activated Carbon Supecapacitor Containing Poly(acrylonitrile) Nonwoven Separator Coated by a Hydrogel Polymer Electrolyte (Poly(acrylonitrile) 부직포 분리막에 코팅된 하이드로겔 고분자 전해질을 포함하는 활성탄 수퍼커패시터 특성)

  • A hydrogel electrolyte consisting of potassium poly(acrylate) (PAAK) (3 wt%) in 6 M KOH aqueous solution is coated on poly(acrylonitrile) nonwoven separator to examine high-rate characteristics of activated carbon supercapacitor adopting the separator. The hydrogel is homogeneously coated on the surface pores of the nonwoven separator. The electrolyte uptake of the PAAK hydrogel maintains for 24 days higher than 230% and the coated separator shows slightly lower ionic conductivity ($2.9{\times}10^{-2}Scm^{-1}$) than that ($3.6{\times}10^{-2}Scm^{-1}$) of using 6 M KOH only. The activated carbon supercapacitor adopting the coated separator shows a specific capacitance higher than $27Fg^{-1}$ at $1000mVs^{-1}$ and a retention ratio higher than 97% after the 1000th cycle. This is due to strong interfacial contact of coated hydrogel electrolyte between the activated carbon electrode and the nonwoven separator.

  • This paper reports the fabrication of geometry-controlled carbon microneedles by a backside exposure method and pyrolysis. The SU-8 microneedles are a polymer precursor in a carbonization process, which geometries such as base diameter, spacing, and aspect ratio can be controlled in a photolithography step. Using this fabrication method, highly reproducible carbon microneedles, which have high aspect ratios of more than 10 and very sharp nanotips, can be realized. The quartz surface with carbon microneedles becomes very hydrophilic and its wettability is adjusted by carrying out the silane treatment. In the carbon microneedle array ($3\;{\mu}m{\times}3\;{\mu}m$), the contact angle is extremly enhanced (${\sim}180^{\circ}$); this will be advantageous in developing low-drag microfluidics and labs-on-a-chip as well as in other bio-applications.

  • The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of anodized surface of osseointegration implants by using of resonance frequency analysis (RFA) and histomorphometric analysis. A total of 96 screw-shaped implants were devided into 4 groups. Seventy-two implants were prepared by electrochemical oxidation with 3 different ways; Group 1 (n=24) were prepared at galvanostatic mode in 0.25M sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, Group 2 (n=24) were prepared at galvanostatic mode in calcium glycerophosphate and calcium acetate, and Group 3 (n=24) were prepared at galvanostatic mode in 0.25M sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid followed by Calcium metaphosphate(CMP) coating. Control group (n=24) were the RBM surfaced implants. The implants were placed in the mandibles of 12 mini pigs. Bone tissue responses were evaluated by resonance frequency analysis(RFA) and histomorphometric analysis that were undertaken at 2, 4 and 6weeks after implant placement. The following result were obtained. 1. Twenty-two of 96 implants (4 in control group, 5 in group 1, 7 in group 2, and 6 in group 3) were failed due to faliure of osseoitegration. The failure rate of osseointegration was 22.9%. 2. The mean values of RFA in control, group 2 and groups 3 showed the similar values, but there was no significant difference among groups. 3. Histomorphometric evaluation demonstrated significantly higher bone-to-implant contact ratio in group 2 at 3 and 4 weeks after implant placement than other groups (p<0.05), but there was no significant difference among groups at 6weeks after implant placement.

  • Geotextile tribes are made of sewn geotextile sheet and hydraulically or mechanically filled with dredged materials. They have been applied in hydraulic and coastal engineering in recent years(shore protection structure, detached breakwater, groins, and jetty). Therefore, it is composed of geotextile and confined fill material. Recently, new preliminary design criteria supported by model and prototype tests, and some stability analysis calculations have been studied. The stability analysis of geotextile tube is composed of geotechnical and hydrodynamic analysis. The stability check points are sliding failure, overturning, bearing capacity failure against the wave attack. In this paper are presented the stability analysis method by empirical equation and 2-D equilibrium analysis for geotextile tube. Also, the hydraulic model tests were performed to verify the theoretical stability analysis with geotextile tube shape, filling ratio, significant wave height, and so on. The results of this study show that the stability of geotextile tube depends on the tube shape, contact area, projection area. The theoretical analysis and hydraulic model test show almost the same results.

Photocatalytic Degradation of Fungicide Chlorothalonil by Mesoporous Titanium Oxo-Phosphate (Mesoporous Titanium Oxo-Phosphate에 의한 살균제 Chlorothalonil의 광분해)

  • Titanium mesoporous materials have received increasing attention as a new photocatalyst in the field for photocatalytic degradation of organic compounds. The photocatalytic degradation of chlorothalonil by mesoporous titanium oxo-phoswhate (Ti-MCM) was investigated in aqueous suspension for comparison with $TiO_2$, (Degussa, P25) using as an effective photocatalyst of organic pollutants. Mesoporous form of titanium Phosphate has been prepared by reaction of sulfuric acid and titanium isopropoxide in the presence or n-hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide. The XRD patterns of Ti-MCM are hexagonal phases with d-spacings of 4.1 nm. Its adsorption isotherm for chlorothalonil reached at reaction equilibrium within 60 min under dark condition with 28% degradation efficiency. The degradation ratio of chlorothalonil after 9 hours under the UV radiation condition (254 nm) exhibited 100% by Ti-MCM and 88% by $TiO_2$. However, these degradation kinetics in static state showed a slow tendency compared to that of stirred state because of a low contact between titanium matrices and chlorothalonil. Also, degradation efficiency of chlorothalonil was increased with decreasing initial concentration and with increasing pH of solution. As results of this study, it was clear that mesoporous titanium oxo-phosphate with high surface area and crystallinity could be used to photo- catalytic degradation of various organic pollutants.

  • 본 연구에서 직물의 열, 수분 전달특성과 KES-FB의 역학적 특성치, 직물표면의 fractal dimension을 측정하여 주관적 의복 착용 쾌적감을 예측하고자 하였다. 실험의복에 사용된 직물은 면 100% 평직물, 면/PET 혼방직물, 피치가공된 면/PET 혼방직물, PET 100% 평직물, 알칼리 감량가공된 PET 100% 크레이프 직물이었으며, 실험의복의 형태는 긴 소매 셔츠로 하였다. 착용실험은 온도 29$\pm$0.5$^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 75$\pm$2%RH, 기류 0.15m/s를 유지하는 항온항습실에서 실시하였고 36명의 여성 피험자(20-23세)들이 참여하였다. 의복 착용감의 하위 구성차원을 파악하기 위해 실험결과를 요인분석한 결과 5 개의 요인으로 추출되었다. 제 1 요인은 체온상승, 수분특성과 관련이 있는 온열.발한감이었으며, 제 2 요인은 무게ㆍ두께감, 제 3 요인은 회복특성감, 제 4 요인은 표면접촉감, 제 5 요인은 온냉감으로 구성되었다. 직물의 표면특성을 정량화하는 방법으로 도입한 fractal dimension 의 분석값들과 종래의 가장 보편적으로 이용되어 온 KES_FB 의 표면 특성치들이 주관적 착용쾌적감 예측에 얼마나 기여하는지 비교해 본 결과, 표면접촉감은 fractal dimension, 접촉점들의 총면적, 접촉점들의 평균 axis ratio, MMD, SMD와 높은 상관을 나타내었다. 또한 종합적 착용쾌적감에 대해서는 SMD 를 제외한 척도들이 유의한 상관을 보였으며, 그 중에서도 fractal dimension 과 접촉점들의 총면적은 0.8 이상의 높은 상관을 나타내었다. 착용쾌적감을 예측하기 위한 회귀분석결과에서는 fractal dimension 만으로 쾌적감의 74%가 설명되었으며 공기 투과도를 첨가하면 두 변수로 $R^2$=.792가 되었다. 설명되는 누적분산값은 67.18%였다.주관적 평가의 결과와 객관적 평가 결과를 이용해 마직물의 태를 평가하는 산출식을 제시하였다. 태 평가치의 경우 16가지 특성치를 모두 넣는 방법과 stepwise 방법, 또 Kawabatark 사용한 순차적 군 회귀법의 세가지 방법의 회귀식 중 16가지 특성치를 모두 넣는 방법의 결정계수가 가장 높았다.tosterone농도는 107.7$\pm$12.0 pmol/l이었고, 남성의 타액내 농도는 274.2$\pm$22.1 pmol/l이었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 본 연구에서 정립된 EIA 방법은 RIA를 대신하여 소규모의 실험실에서도 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사려된다.또한 상실기 이후 배아에서 합성되며, 발생시기에 따라 그 영향이 다르고 팽창과 부화에 관여하는 것으로 사료된다. 더욱이, 조선의 ${\ulcorner}$구성교육${\lrcorner}$이 조선총독부의 관리하에서 실행되었다는 것을, 당시의 사범학교를 중심으로 한 교육조직을 기술한 문헌에 의해 규명시켰다.nd of letter design which represents -natural objects and was popular at the time of Yukjo Dynasty, and there are some documents of that period left both in Japan and Korea. Clinical and Statistical Analysis with Age in Cases of Pediatric Burn Patients (소아 화상 환자 2,795례에 대한 연령별 임상 통계학적 분석)

  • Purpose: The objective of this study is to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of pediatric burn patients and to determine the targets for a pediatric burn prevention program. Methods: A retrospective review of all medical records of acute pediatric burn patients (age < 15 years old) admitted to our hospital between January 2005 and December 2009 was performed. Results: 1472 males and 1323 females were investigated, with a male to female ratio of 1.11 : 1. The greatest number of burn patients were those with an age of 1~2 years (1,463, 52.3%). Scalding burn was the most common cause of injury, which accounted for 2183 (78.1%) patients, followed by contact burns (10.5%), flame burn (4.9%), steam burn (3.6%). Especially steam burn was the second cause of injury in the age under 1 year, while flame burn was the second cause of injury in the age over 7 years. During recent 5 years, incidence of flame burn, steam burn, electrical burn gradually decreased. Variation of seasonal incidence is minimal and most of the patients (2,716 cases, 97.2%) had burns less than 20% TBSA (Total body surface area). The median hospital stay was 18.79 days, and the rate of operation was 28.6% with a high rate in electrical burn (76.2%), flame burn (50.0%), steam burn (46.1%). 6 patients died in this series, which yielded a mortality rate of 0.2%. Conclusion: Prevention efforts should reflect recent study results. Focused prevention program and campaign to make people aware of risk factors and their avoidance is required to reduce the number of burn accidents in children.

Color Control and Durability Improvement of Yellow Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) by Heat Treatments (열처리에 의한 백합나무 재색 제어와 내부후성 제고)

  • The sapwood of yellow poplar is very bright while its heartwood is usually greenish which changes to dark brown with weathering. This difference in color value between sapwood and heartwood causes difficulty in using yellow poplar as higher value added materials such as interior finish and furniture part. In this study, hot-water treatment, vacuum-heat treatment and oven-heat treatment were carried out to reduce the difference in color value between heartwood and bright sap wood and to increase durability. FT-IR analysis, contact angle measurement and decay test were carried out to find out the mechanism of functional group change and the increment of durability by heat treatment. The result of decrement ratio of color difference were 45.7% by hot-water treatment, 26.8% by vacuum-heat treatment, and 60.2%, 87.8%, and 88.8% by $180^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$ and $220^{\circ}C$ oven-heat treatments respectively. Furthermore, it has been found that oven-heat treatment causes decrement of mass loss by decay in this study. It is suggested that oven-heat treatment could be environmentally friendly preservative treatment without chemicals.

  • It is possible to detect flaws in pipelines without interruption using all EMAT transducer because it is a non-contact transducer which can transmit ultrasonic waves into specimens without couplant. And it ran easily generate guided waves desired in each specific problem by altering the design of coil and magnet. In the present work, EMAT systems have been fabricated to generate surface waves, and selectively the plate wave of $A_1\;or\;S_1$ mode. The surface wave of 1.5MHz showed a good signal-to-noise ratio without distortion in its propagation along a pipeline, while the $S_1$ mode of 800kHz and the $A_1$ mode of 940kHz were distorted according to their dispersive properties. The wider the excitation pulse becomes, the better the mode selectivity of the plate waves becomes. A pipe of 256mm inner diameter and 5.5m thickness with 5 flaws was used for comparing the flaw detectability among the modes under consideration.

Determination of Di-(2-Ethylhexyl) Adipate Migrated from Polyvinyl Chloride Wrap Film into Various Foodstuffs and Dishes Depending on Exposure Conditions (염화비닐 랩 필름으로 포장된 다양한 식품 및 요리류의 노출 조건에 따른 di-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate의 이행량 분석)

  • The migrating level of di-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA) in PVC wrap to various foodstuffs dishes was determined using acetone/n-hexane as an extracting solvent. The recovery ratio of DEHA from various foodstuffs ranged from 81.3 to 91.2%. During storage at $10\;or\;20^{\circ}C$ for up to 3 days, highest migration of 22.9 mg/kg occurred with pork belly, an indication that increases in fat content, storage temperature, and storage time result in increasing DEHA migration. DEHA concentrations of various delivered dishes ranged between 6.9 and 29.8 mg/kg, and highest migration was observed in Chambbong, which had the highest fat content among samples. After microwave-reheating, which resulted in a tight contact between film and food samples, DEHA was not detected in rice and potato, whereas up to 158.8 mg/kg was detected in pizza. When the wrap film was not contacted with the surface of food, the migration was lowered. Migration levels of DEHA from PVC wrap film into samples under various exposure conditions often exceeded the limit value of $3\;mg/dm^2\;and/or\;18\;mg/kg$ set by the European Union.
