The Application of Oxygenated Component(Butyl Ether) and EGR in a DI Diesel Engine (직접분사식 디젤기관에서 함산소성분(Butyl Ether) 및 EGR의 적용)

  • This research investigated variations of the engine performance and the exhaust emission characteristic of a direct injection diesel engine by fueling a commercial diesel fuel, which was blended with the di-ether group (butyl-ether: BE). The smoke emission reduced to 26% from the diesel engine with the blending fuel (diesel fuel 80 vol-% + BE 20 vol-%)at the full engine load of 2500 rpm compared to it with the diesel fuel only. The power, torque and brake specific energy consumption of the diesel engine showed very slight differences. The NOx emission from the diesel engine, however, with the blended fuel was higher than with the commercial diesel fuel only. By applying EGR method, as a counter plan of the NOx reduction, this research obtained reductions of the smoke and NOx emission at the same time from the diesel engine with the BE blended diesel fuel.

  • This paper presents a feasibility study of a fresh air load reduction system by using an underground double floor space. The system was introduced into a real building and was examined by the field measurement. Judging from the measurements during three years(1999~2001), the state of the system operation was very stable through this period and it was clear that the system contributes to reduction of energy consumption for air-conditioning. Futhermore, a simulation model used the simple heat diffusion equation was developed to simulate its thermal characteristics and performances. The simulations resulted in air temperature in good agreement with the measurements. Also, from the result of numerical analysis, it is clear that the amount of heat supply by using this system is more than the amount of energy loss to the room above it. Therefore, it is concluded that this systems is very useful and the proposed numerical model can be used for the prediction of system thermal performance.

The characteristics of feminist fashion brands and female images (페미니스트 패션 브랜드의 특성과 여성 이미지)

  • This study selected fashion brands claiming to advocate feminism to analyze their characteristics and female images. For the study's data, online foreign feminist fashion brands were sifted from March 2017 to January 2018 and 28 clothing brands were selected. The study's results show that feminist fashion brands aim at the demassification and individualization of fashion products to be more inclusive of individuals' physical characteristics and diversity. Additionally, feminist brands entice consumption through communication and participation in online communities and through the value of social coexistence. The essential female image produced by feminist fashion brands deconstructs a socially idealized female image and expresses a sense of self-body positivity. In turn, the concept of self-body positivity is communicated through natural images of independent women with distinct identities based on differences in race, culture, and sexual orientation. Moreover, feminist fashion brands produce social images featuring independent women using active wear to engage in social activities. Casual wear is also used to reflect active women, while mannish looks and power suits express women's social status and professional abilities. Ultimately, these offer functionally active and rational images, combined with female images featuring long hair and makeup. Yet another type of female image seeks to create a new vision of women as diverse due to their various cultures, countries of origin, races, and individual tastes. These new images express women's physical differences, distinct identities, and diversity while simultaneously deconstructing pre-existing forms of clothing.

  • The world views the sea newly for the supplementation of the limited land resources and extension of the national territory especially the sea is changing from the period of the free availability to that of the sea control y the coastal nations in step with the announcement of the marine laws in November 16.1994. Therefore Korea is changing strang fisheries nation the fact is that korea cannot effectively cope with changing fisheries situation and various fisheries difficulties because the fisheries policy system is dispersed to each parts of the government. Therefore I tried to present a theoretical basis by studying in the fisheries administration organization. Analysis of Eco T-shirts Market for the New Elderly (신 노년층 소비자의 에코 티셔츠 수요 실태 조사 및 고찰)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the needs for eco t-shirts of the new elderly consumers and to suggest strategies for eco t-shirts product development and marketing. Quantitative research was employed for research method. The data was collected from men and women in their age of 50-65, who lived in Busan, Ulsan, and Kyungnam province, during October, 2011. Respondents were selected by convenience sampling. A total of 307 responses among 350 were analyzed. Factor analysis, frequency analysis, t-test, chi-square, and regression were used for analysis. SPSS 20.0 was used for data analysis. Characteristics of the new elderly (lifestyle and environmental concern), consumption status of eco t-shirts (possession status and reasons of purchase/non-purchase), purchase intention for eco tshirts, consumer needs for t-shirts (usage situation, benefits sought, and dissatisfaction with t-shirts), preference for eco t-shirts (color, pattern, material, and shape), and demographics were surveyed. Based on the results, the vision of eco tshirts market for the new elderly consumers was positively prospected. In conclusion, specific strategies for eco t-shirts products development and marketing were suggested. Product development focused on practicality and material, design development reflecting consumers' preference, multipurpose product development, building up the product recognition, and moderate price strategy were suggested.

The Development of a High Efficiency Luminaires Reflector for Tunnel Lighting (터널용 고효율 조명기구 반사판의 개발)

  • Tunnel lighting in Korea has the problems of unsatisfactory illuminance uniformity which obstructs driver's vision, a flicker phenomenon on wall of tunnel, a heavy glare, low efficiency of luminaires, low utilization factor, and high energy consumption. We developed a high efficiency luminaire reflector for tunnel lighting which removes these problems. Developed luminaire saves energy and improves lighting environment by increasing 10% of luminaire efficiency. It can reduce installation cost by decreasing the number of luminaires, while average illuminance of 200[lx], overall uniformity of 0.4, longitudinal uniformity of 0.7, and electric power consumptions per unit area of 3.7[W/m$^2$] are accomplished.

  • The smart city is one of the most promising, prominent, and challenging applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). Smart cities rely on everything connected to each other. This in turn depends heavily on technology. Technology literacy is essential to transform a city into a smart, connected, sustainable, and resilient city where information is not only available but can also be found. The smart city vision combines emerging technologies such as edge computing, blockchain, artificial intelligence, etc. to create a sustainable ecosystem by dramatically reducing latency, bandwidth usage, and power consumption of smart devices running various applications. In this research, we present a comprehensive survey of emerging technologies for a sustainable smart city network. We discuss the requirements and challenges for a sustainable network and the role of heterogeneous integrated technologies in providing smart city solutions. We also discuss different network architectures from a security perspective to create an ecosystem. Finally, we discuss the open issues and challenges of the smart city network and provide suitable recommendations to resolve them.

  • In recent years, with the rapid growth of China's animation industry, the two-dimensional culture and consumption have been immersed in the daily lives of young people. The two-dimensional culture that mainly exists on young people is gradually entering the public's field of vision, making the two-dimensional culture not It is only restricted to the fixed fan circle, but is known to more people outside the circle.   • This paper deals with research on innovative systems using Python-based artificial intelligence technology in the field of plant growth monitoring. The importance of monitoring and analyzing the health status and growth environment of plants in real time contributes to improving the efficiency and quality of crop production. This paper proposes a method of processing and analyzing plant image data using computer vision and deep learning technologies. The system was implemented using Python language and the main deep learning framework, TensorFlow, PyTorch. A camera system that monitors plants in real time acquires image data and provides it as input to a deep neural network model. This model was used to determine the growth state of plants, the presence of pests, and nutritional status. The proposed system provides users with information on plant state changes in real time by providing monitoring results in the form of visual or notification. In addition, it is also used to predict future growth conditions or anomalies by building data analysis and prediction models based on the collected data. This paper is about the design and implementation of Python-based plant growth monitoring systems, data processing and analysis methods, and is expected to contribute to important research areas for improving plant production efficiency and reducing resource consumption.

Mary Shelley's The Last Man: Hospitability at the end of History (메리 셸리의 『최후의 인간』 -역사 끝에 선 환대)

  • The decades after the French Revolution witnessed the prolific production and consumption of apocalyptic literature, tinged with the optimistic vision of political progress and human perfectibility. However, the Romantic writers were cautious to embrace the idea of the end of history, even though it promised an aesthetic space relieved of historical determinants. Mary Shelley's The Last Man joined this line of Romantic literature which skeptically questions the millenarian desires of political apocalypse by representing apocalypse without millenium. Using the theme of apocalypse as a tool to investigate the place of human beings in the universe and to test diverse political reform ideas to their fullest potential, the novel diagnoses the ideas of representative political subject as the most problematic aspect of political structure. The notion of subjecthood presupposes a political decision as to who can be counted as subject and this decision, according to the novel, assumed a subject that is "active, free, conscious and willful sovereign," which Raymond embodies in his exemplary body. Against the sovereignty of Raymond is juxtaposed the subaltern subject such as Sybil. The resistance of Sybil to Apollo, another exemplary subject, is the subtext of the novel, which guides the way out of the grim future of humanity. While the plague exemplifies the universalizing ideal with its principle of sovereignty, Sybil and her descendent Lionel practice the unconditional hospitality so that they can renew the community in a way to embrace singularities of individuals.
