The dependent variable is perceived as a financial risk. Each question is measured as a Likert-type five-point scale. Results - According to the price discount and product type, perceived financial risk of Thai consumers is confirmed to be a larger one than that of Korean consumers. Also, there are interaction effects in the perceived financial risk. Conclusion - Our findings can be used as useful information for global retail markets as marketing strategies in future Korean enterprise through a comparative study on Korean and Thai consumers.
This study aimed to elucidate any differences in fashion consumption tendencies among fashion consumers according to their MBTI personality types and fashion brand sensibility (Chanel vs. Off-White). Differences in fashion consumption tendencies (fashion sensitivity, fashion innovativeness, and fashion ostentation) were determined based on two of MBTI's four bipolar indicators: extroversion-introversion, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling, and judging-perceiving. It was found that intuitive consumers showed higher fashion innovativeness than sensory consumers. In addition, feeling-type consumers showed more fashion-sensitive and ostentatious fashion consumption tendencies than thinking-type consumers. Fashion brand sensibility acted as a moderator in the relationship between personality type and fashion consumption tendency. Especially, moderating effects of fashion brand sensibility and fashion consumption tendencies were evident in sensing-intuition and judging-perceiving types. Among intuitive consumers, those who preferred Chanel brand sensibility exhibited higher tendencies for fashion ostentation than those who preferred Off-White brand sensibility. However, sensory type consumers showed no difference in fashion ostentation based on their preferred fashion brand sensibility. Interaction effects regarding fashion sensitivity and fashion innovativeness were not found. Among perceiving-type consumers who preferred Chanel brand sensibility, high fashion sensitivity was evident. Conversely, judgment-type consumers who preferred Off-White brand sensibility showed high fashion sensitivity. Interaction effects concerning fashion innovativeness and fashion ostentation were not found.

This study investigated the factors that influence consumers' distrust and consumers purchase intention for discounting, specifically discounting of clothes. Through literature, discounting rate, retailer type and brand reputation were identified as influencing factors and were tested. A 2$\times$2$\times$3 factorial design was used to test the effect of each factor on consumers' distrust and consumers' purchase intention for jean products. Retailer type was manipulated as high and low, brand reputation as well-known and less-known, and discount rates 10, 30 and 60%. An convenience sample of 165 female undergraduate students participated in the study. The data were analyzed using SPSS/PC+ The results showed that consumers did distrust discounting claims and consumers' distrust of the claims was greater for less-known brand. In addition, no significant effect of retailor type was found. Further effort is needed to generalize the result to different product categories.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The increased consumers' interests in health and food safety have increased the demand for organic foods. Many studies have been performed on consumers' purchase intentions for organic foods and their influencing factors, and various studies have shown that the prices of organic foods and the consumers' willingness to pay are important influencing factors. This study examined the payment value of organic foods and agrifood consumer competency index according to the food-related lifestyles in South Korean consumers. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A cross-sectional analysis was performed using the 2019 Consumer Behavior Survey for Food. A total of 6,176 participants aged 19 to 74 years (male: 2,783, female: 3,393) were included in the analysis. RESULTS: Three factors were extracted by factor analysis (rational consumption-seeking type, convenience-seeking type, and health, and safety-seeking type) to explain the consumers' food-related lifestyles. The results of cluster analysis suggested that consumers were classified into 3 food-related lifestyles as the 'exploratory consumers' (n = 2,485), 'safety-seeking consumers' (n = 1,544), and 'passive consumers' (n = 2,147). Exploratory consumers showed a significantly higher willingness to pay for imported organic foods (P < 0.05). Safety-seeking consumers had a significantly higher willingness to pay for domestic organic foods (P < 0.05). For the agrifood consumer competency index, exploratory consumers had the highest score, followed in order by safety-seeking consumers and passive consumers. CONCLUSIONS: These results provide basic data in understanding consumption tendency for organic foods and agrifoods based on food-related lifestyles of South Korean consumers.
Purpose - When indulging in hedonic items is construed as wasteful and evokes anticipated regret or guilt, consumers are more likely to seek reasons to justify their indulgence. Justification requirement for spending on indulgences over necessities could lead to the places of their finding the ways that mitigate the anticipated regret and guilt. However the previous research focusing on consumers' own great effort leading to positive outcomes has not given much attention to other's outcomes induced from his or her little or no efforts, by which consumers could feel envy. The guilt associated with consumers' indulgence could vary according to envy type felt according to their evaluation about other's outcomes and their self construal level. Current research explored the envy type's effects on consumers' spending on hedonic products, and moderation effects of self construal level on the envy type's effects. Research design, data, and methodology - 2(envy type: benign versus malicious) × 2(self construal level: high versus low) between-subjects design was employed. Data for empirical analysis were from 173 undergraduate participants. ANOVA was used to verify hypotheses. Results - The tendency of choosing utilitarian product versus hedonic product was moderated by the envy type. The participants who felt benign envy were more likely to choose utilitarian product versus hedonic product than those who felt malicious envy were. And the tendency of benign envy-felt participants' choosing hedonic versus utilitarian product was more weakened to those with lower-level self construal than to those with higher-level self construal. However the tendency of malicious envy-felt participants' choosing hedonic versus utilitarian product was not moderated by the self construal level. Conclusions - This research could advance the theory related to indulgent hedonic consumption by exploring the effects of self construal level and envy type on hedonic indulgence. In view of the results from current study, marketers should make efforts of communicating and selling utilitarian products to persuade consumers with lower-level construal when they feel benign envy to others. And they should conduct marketing acts for hedonic products to persuade consumers when they feel malicious envy to others.
