  • HACCP is scientific Sanitary control system to ensure food safety with autonomous, systematic and effective way by analysing hazard element that can be occurred in each steps until an end consumer takes food including raw material status, manufacturing, processing, storing, distributing, cooking and specifying the critical control point. In this paper, the temperature and humidity are measured during the transport of food, the stage of its distribution, to ensure systematic and effective management of HACCP, and we designed a monitoring terminal that uses this information to send it to servers periodically and a firmware that implements it. We have confirmed that the data transmitted by the terminal, including the information measured in sub-net, was well stored on the server and the response from the server is well received by the terminal. It is expected to be used for the management of food history, data tracking and statistical data in the future. This system is also considered to be an applicable system for group cafeteria such as schools or workplaces and logistics warehouses for raw materials or food storage and so on.

  • The load analysis for the distribution system and facilities has relied on measurement equipment. Moreover, load monitoring incurs huge costs in terms of installation and maintenance. This paper presents a new model to analyze wherein facilities load under a feeder every 15 minutes using meter reading data that can be obtained from a power consumer every 15 minute or a month even without setting up any measuring equipment. After the data warehouse is constructed by interfacing the legacy system required for the load calculation, the relationship between the distribution system and the power consumer is established. Once the load pattern is forecasted by applying clustering and classification algorithm of temporal data mining techniques for the power customer who is not involved in Automatic Meter Reading(AMR), a single-line diagram per feeder is created, and power flow calculation is executed. The calculation result is analyzed using various temporal and spatial analysis methods such as Internet Geographic Information System(GIS), single-line diagram, and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP).

  • Recent technological advance in UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) technology offers new opportunities for assessing crop situation using UAV imagery. The objective of this study was to assess if reflectance and NDVI derived from consumer-grade cameras mounted on UAVs are useful for crop condition monitoring. This study was conducted using a fixed-wing UAV(Ebee) with Cannon S110 camera from March 2015 to March 2016 in the experiment field of National Institute of Agricultural Sciences. Results were compared with ground-based recordings obtained from consumer-grade cameras and ground multi-spectral sensors. The relationship between raw digital numbers (DNs) of UAV images and measured calibration tarp reflectance was quadratic. Surface (lawn grass, stairs, and soybean cultivation area) reflectance obtained from UAV images was not similar to reflectance measured by ground-based sensors. But NDVI based on UAV imagery was similar to NDVI calculated by ground-based sensors.

  • The risk of various hazardous substances in aquatic environment comprises not only the concentration of substances in the environmental medium but also their accumulation in fish through complex food web and the health risks to humans through the fish. In Korea, the monitoring of residual toxicant in aquatic ecosystems began in 2016 following the enforcement of the Acts on registration and evaluation for the management of chemicals used in daily life (consumer chemical products), and attention has been paid to potentially hazardous substances attributed to them. Recently, studies have been carried out to investigate the distribution of these hazardous substances in the ecosystem and calculate their emission factors. These include the accumulation and transport of substances, such as detergents, dyes, fragrances, cosmetics, and disinfectants, within trophic levels. This study summarizes the results of recently published research on the inflow and distribution of hazardous substances from consumer chemical products to the aquatic environment and presents the scientific implication. Based on studies on aquatic environment monitoring techniques, this study suggests research directions for monitoring the residual concentration and distribution of harmful chemical substances in aquatic ecosystems. In particular, this study introduces the directions for research on trophic position analysis using compound specific isotope analysis and trophic magnification factors, which are needed to fulfill the contemporary requirements of selecting target fish based on the survey of major fish that inhabit domestic waters and assessment of associated health risk. In addition, this study provides suggestions for future biota monitoring and chemical research in Korea.

Recently, the various applications of smart clothing concept have been presented by researchers and developers. Among them, the smart clothing based on the sensors is most likely to gain the highest demand rate in the market. In this paper, we proposed the life weather index monitoring system using the wearable based smart cap. By wearing the proposed smart cap, the weather status is gathered and its signals are transmitted to the connected UMPC. It can be easily monitored in real time. To provide the life weather index according to the sensors, the weather index was analyzed in terms of 6 factors, such as, the heat index, the food poisoning index, the discomfort index, the ultraviolet index, the water pipe freeze possibility index, and the windchill temperature index. Ultimately, this paper suggests empirical application to verify the adequacy and the validity with the life weather index monitoring system. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the quality of services will be improved the smart clothing.
