This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of SaSang constitutional diet for essential hypertension on blood pressure, fat, and serum lipid on the subjects with aerobic exercise and low salt diet at the same time. Method: A non-equivalent control group time-series design was used. For the experimental group, aerobic exercise and SaSang constitutional diet were taught by researcher at health center. Test for hypothesis was done by repeated measured ANOVA. Result: There was significant decrease in systolic, diastolic, and MAP between the experimental group and control group over three different times. There was significant decrease in body weight, BMI, and body composition over three different times. But, there was no significant difference between groups and interaction by groups or over time. There was significant decrease in T/G and cholesterol over three different times. But, there was no significant difference in T/G, HDL, LDL, and total cholesterol between groups and interaction by groups or over time. Conclusion: Findings indicate that this study will contribute to develop nursing strategies for the regulation of the blood pressure as a means of alternative- complementary nursing intervention.
The characteristic fitness of food to each Sa-sang constitution and the relationship between Han-Yeoul characteristics and chemical composition after classifying Samgye-tang ingredients and other food into Ohn-Yeoul-Ryang-Han characteristic were assessed. When the suitable constitution to the each characteristic was investigated after classifying Samgye-tang ingredients and other food into Han, Ryang, Pyound, Ohn and Yeoul of which fitness case for Soeumin was 44∼63% but fitness case for Soyangin and Taeyangin was only 0∼18%. When the relationship between Samgye-tang ingredients and other food classified into Ohn-Yeoul-Ryang-Han and chemical composition of fatty acid, amino acid, vitamin and mineral was investigated, the value of correlation coefficient was extremely low. There was not the relationship between chemical composition and Han-Yeoul classification. Therefore it should be further investigated the relationship between characteristic and chemical composition by additional analysis index.
Under the existing law, an act included in medical practice by medical personnel seems to be irrelevant to whether the act concerned in the "Life World" is in the category of medical practice. In spite of the act having been done according to the custom for a long time, and generally done by individuals in the "Life World", these kinds of acts have been banned by law, because if these acts were done by the general individuals, it would be considered as harmful behavior to human life and body. And it is not sure that individuals know such a ban or notification. This cause a "Mistake of Law". Also it is happened if someone knows the existence of law but believes that his/her act is not included. For treating the problem of "Mistake of Law" of unlicensed medical act, in this study I inquired thoroughly into the category and regulation of unlicensed medical act, uncertainty of the Medical Services Law the first Section of Article 27, the prohibition of unlicensed medical act. The "Composition Condition" of the first Section of Article 27 of the Medical Services Law is not certain, it doesn't meet the "Doctrine of Clearance", and it cause the "Mistake of Law". Also it doesn't meet standardization of constitutional state. An exceptional decision of Pusan District Court, the debate about unlicensed medical practice, constitutional decision on unlicensed medical practice of the Constitutional Court of Republic of Korea and point of view of support of regulation. Also I examined the problem of "Mistake of Law" that the regulation of unlicensed medical practice has. I tried to solve uncertainty of "Composition Condition" and proposed a direction of regulation for solving the "Mistake of Law" and the use of existing law.
This study was conducted to compare the serum composition and urinary excretion in four institutional groups and the effects of intakes of good foods and harmful foods according to the Sasang constitiution for a short time on serum and ruine compositon. The contitutions of 33 female stucdents were classified by O-ring test and muscular strength test according to the Sasang constitution, The number of each institutional group was So-yang-in 11, So-em-in 10 and Tae-em-in 12. No subject belonged to Tae-yang-in There were no significant differences among contitutional groups in the values of most serum composition and urinary excretion Serum levels of total cholesterol, glucose, calcium and phosphorus in Tae-em-in was the highest among groups and the level of albumin and total protein in So-em-in was highest. The values of serum compositions changed after the 33 subjects took good foods and then harmful foods according to The Sasang constitution for a short time(5 days). Dietary behavior of the subjects had some effects among the constitutional groups in the values of most serum composition and urinary excretion. But the effects of dietary behavior on the serum composition and urinary excretion showed various trends in the four institutional groups.
Background Adherence to healthy diet acts as a key role to modify sedentary lifestyle in real life setting. Constitution type of traditional Korean medicine has been prediagnosed to risk factors of cardiometabolic diseases. This study aims to evaluate the associations between body composition and healthy eating status in Korean adults by their constitution type. Methods Of 4046 participants from Korean Medicine Daejeon Citizen Cohort study, Korean Medicine Daejeon Citizen Cohort (KDCC) study were included for analysis. Demographic, health-related behaviors and Korean Medicine (KM) type were surveyed based on a general health-related questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements and dietary factors by using Korean Healthy Eating Index (KHEI) were assessed only in the half of the original participants. Results 50.8% of Taeeum was observed from eligible 1967 participants (66.7%, women). The highest KHEI score was observed in soyang group (52.0±0.3, p=0.006) compared to other two groups. In taeeum group, lower appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM)(%)(Taeeum: 38.7±0.1 vs. Soeum/Soyang: 39.2±0.1, p < 0.05), and higher percent of body fat (PBF)(%) (Taeeum: 32.9±0.2 vs. Soeum/Soyang: 29.0±0.2, p < 0.05) by the lowest tertile (T1) of the KHEI score, respectively. When the KHEI score increased by 1 point in taeeum group, a positive relationship was observed, which increased by 0.015% of ASM, however, a negatively related to in which body fat mass (BFM) decreased by 0.022 kg and PBF decreased by 0.024%. Conclusion Customized nutritional management is required that could help maintaining physical health and diet by their constitution type.
1. Background and Purpose At the year of 2000, the society of Sasang Constitutional Medicine acquired ${\ulcorner}$HamsanSachon DongyiSooseBowon GaboGubon${\lrcorner}$ which is seen as a written copy of ${\ulcorner}$GaboBon${\lrcorner}$. According to Lee Sung-su who is the great-grandson of DongMu's older brother, ${\ulcorner}$HamsanSachon DongyiSooseBowon GaboGubon${\lrcorner}$ was worked by Lee Jin-yoon who is the grandson of DongMu's older brother, and it was copied by Han Min-gab and now is owned by Lee Sung-su who is son of Lee Jin-yoon. 2. Methods This paper was written in order to understand of the character of the discourse on the medications and prescriptions of the ${\ulcorner}$HamsanSachon DongyiSooseBowon GaboGubon${\lrcorner}$. 3. Result and Conclusion 1) Newly created prescriptions of ${\ulcorner}$GaboBon${\lrcorner}$ is composed of the 125 medications of Soeumin 46, Soyangin 36, Taeumin 29, Taeyangin 14. Regarding with that prescriptions, the average number of the medications per prescription is 9.3 and the average capacity of that is 42.6gram. 2) The experimental prescription is from ${\ulcorner}$GaboBon${\lrcorner}$. All the 37 prescriptions of ${\ulcorner}$Sanghanlon${\lrcorner}$ is found at the text of ${\ulcorner}$GaboBon${\lrcorner}$, and only 12 of 37 prescriptions of Traditional Medicine excepting ${\ulcorner}$Sanghanlon${\lrcorner}$ is described at the text of it. Hardly any case of treatment by Traditional Prescription can be found at the discourse on constitunal symptoms and diseases. 3) Only 13 of 69 newly created prescriptions is not prescribed at ${\ulcorner}$GaboBon${\lrcorner}$, and 7 of the 13 prescriptions don't have the symptom of charge also. 4) 6 prescriptions which are supposed to newly created prescriptions of ${\ulcorner}$The Discourse on Constitutional Symptoms and Diseases${\lrcorner}$ are not describe to the composition of medications. 5) All the newly created prescriptions of ${\ulcorner}$The General Remarks on the Soeumin${\lrcorner}$ of ${\ulcorner}$SinChucBon${\lrcorner}$ are to be regarded as GaboBon's.
Objectives The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between Zema 21 and in body based on the Sasang Constitutional difference of children. Methods We collected 1050 children from 5 years old to 15 years old who had been tested for both Zema21 and Inbody in OO oriental hospital from the period of September 1, January 1999 to August 31, 2008. This research investigated the Constitutional differences based on the relationship between Zema21 and Inbody. Results 1. It turned out that the children's height does not have a significant relationship between their age and gender. 2. Generally, Taeumin's weights were significantly high than those of Soyangin's and Soumin's in certain ages in children over 9 years old and in all genders. 3. The percentage of the body fat in Taeumin were significantly high than Soyangin and Soumin in certain ages in children over 10 years old and in all genders. 4. Waist-Hip ratio in Taeumin were significantly high than Soyangin and Soumin in male over 10 years old and in female over 13 years old of children. On the other hand, there was no relationship to the Soyangin and Soumin. 5. The obesity degree in Taeumin were significantly high in all female and male who were over 10 years old. Soyangin were the next highest group and Soumin follows. 6. Body Mass Index in Taeumin were significantly high in all genders who were over 10 years old. The second is Soyangin, and the lowest groupis Soumin. 7. The Basal Metabolic Rate resulted as significant in all age, although this does not have any relationship between age and gender. 8. Abdomen out in Taeumin were significantly high in ages over 10 and genders. The second is Soyangin and the lowest is Soumin. 9. Hip circumference Abdomen out in Taeumin were significantly high in ages over 10 and genders. Specially, Taeumin shows highest value, then the second is Soyangin, and the lowest is Soumin who were over 12 years old. Conclusions The results of Inbody were not significant to the children who were under 9 years old. Taeumin became significantly fat after over 10 years old. The results of Body Composition except height and Basal Metabolic Rate(MBR) were the highest in Taeumin, and Soyangin and Soumin were the second, and the third respectively.
Objectives This paper investigates the origin, the progressive changes and the constructive principles of Jeoryoungchajeonja-tang(猪苓車前子湯).Methods Jeoryoungchajeonja-tang and other related prescriptions were analyzed in terms of their pathological indications, based on previous literature including 『Sanghannon(傷寒論)』, 『Keumkuaeyoryak(金匱要略)』, 『Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)』, 『Donguisusebowon‧Sasangchobongwon(東醫壽世保元‧四象草本卷)』, 『Donguisusebowon‧Gabogubon(東醫壽世保元‧甲午舊本)』, 『Donguisusebowon‧Sinchukbon(東醫壽世保元‧辛丑本)』Results and Conclusions 1) The origin of Jeoryoungchajeonja-tang is discovered in the prescriptions for Lee-su(利水), that is, Jeoryoung-tang(猪苓湯). 2) Ohryoung-san(五苓散) introduced in 『Donguisusebowon‧Sasangchobongwon(東醫壽世保元‧四象草本卷)』progressively transformed into Shihosaryoung-san(柴胡四苓散)(『Donguisusebowon‧Gabogubon(東醫壽世保元 ‧甲午舊本)』) and ultimately into Jeoryoungchajeonja-tang(『Donguisusebowon‧Sinchukbon(東醫壽世保元‧辛丑本)』), a prescription appropriate for usage in the Mangeum symptomatology(亡陰證). 3) The Jeoryoungchajeonja-tang is composed of 10 herbs. Of these, Notopterygium incisum Ting(羌活), Aralia cordata Thunb.(獨活), Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq.(荊芥), Saposhnikovia divaricata Schischk.(防風) make the Pyoeum(表陰) drop, and Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge.(知母), Gypsum fibrosum(石膏) scatter the uihwa(胃火), and Poria cocos Wolf.(茯苓), Alisma canaliculatum(澤瀉), Polyporus umbellatus Fr.(猪苓), Plantago asiatica L.(車前子) facilitate urination.
1. Objectives In this study, we analysed the up-to-the-present data in the SCIB and the chart of Iksan Wonkwang Oriental Medical Clinic, to develop the system and factors of data for the SCIB(Sasang constitution Information Bank). 2. Methods SCIB data is composed of analyses about the QSCC II(Questionnaire for the Sasang Constitution Classification II), Cold-hot questionaire, Ban-chi constitution questionnaire, Body composition, Body measurement, 24-hour food intake & Activity examination, MBTI & MMTIC, Informed consent & Blood sampling, and data presented by committee of Sasang constitution diagnosis expert. And the chart data of Iksan Wonkwang Oriental Medical Clinic is composed of analyses about Inspection, Ausculfation and olfaction, Inquiry, Pulse feeling and palpitation, and treatment field. 3. Results and Conclusions Almost data in the SCIB are lack of regular forms because they are based on mainly the QSCC II and additionally other examinations. Conclusionly important matters of the SCIB data are as follows: (1) the standard form including 4 whole diagnostic factors (2) the standard form including symptoms, pattern identifications, treatment processes and treatment results (3) objectivity and practicality to collect data.
Objectives : To assess the characteristics of electropyography(EMG) and heart rate variability(HRV) values in idiopathic facial palsy inpatients of different Sasang constitutions. Methods : Medical records of 103 idiopathic facial palsy inpatients who underwent facial EMG testing and HRV testing were retrospectively reviewed. All subjects had been consulted to the department of Sasang constitution for constitution differentiation. The Sasang constitutional and age distribution were initially analyzed, and axonal loss percentage values on EMG were correlated with Sasang constitution and sex. HRV results were also correlated with Sasang constitution and sex. Results : 1. 24.4 percent of idiopathic facial palsy inpatients were of the Soyang constitution, 52.4 percent were of the Taeum, and 23.3 percent were of the Soeum. Patients in their fifties were most common in all constitutions(27.8%). 2. Mean axonal loss values for the temporal, zygomatic, and buccal branches were all statistically significantly lower in the Taeum constitution compared with Soyang or Soeum(p<0.05). 3. Mean axonal loss values for the temporal, zygomatic, and buccal branches were all statistically significantly lower in men than women(p<0.05). 4. The mean LF/HF ratio was significantly lower in idiopathic facial palsy inpatients of the Soeum constitution compared with Soyang and Taeum(p<0.05), but there was no statistically significant difference in mean MHRT, SDNN, TP, VLF, LF, and HF of different constitutions. 5. The mean SDNN was significantly lower in women inpatients compared with men(p<0.05), but there was no statistically significant difference in mean MHRT, TP, VLF, LF, HF, and LF/HF ratio. Conclusions : The Sasang constitutional composition of idiopathic facial palsy inpatients closely adheres to the composition proposed in Dong-eui-su-se-bo-won, but the Taeum and Soeum proportion is slightly larger and the Soyang proportion slightly smaller. Axonal loss value on EMG was significantly lower in the Taeum constitution, and in men(p<0.05, <0.05). Mean LF/HF ratio was significantly lower in the Soeum constitution compared with Soyang and Taeum(p<0.05), and mean SDNN was significantly lower in women(p<0.05).
