Statistical Characteristics of Response Consistency Parameters in Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP에서의 응답일관성 모수의 통계적 특성과 활용 방안)

  • Using the computer simulation method, we invest19ate the probability distribution of maximum eigenvalue of pair-wise comparison matrix, which has been used as a parameter for measuring the consistency of responses in analytic hierarchy process (AHP). We show that the shape of the distribution of the maximum eigenvalue is different according to the dimension of the matrix. In addition, we cannot find any evidence that the distribution of the Consistency Index is a Normal distribution, which has been claimed in the Previous literature. Accordingly, we suggest using so called K-index calcu1ated based on the concept of cumulative distribution function lather than based on that of arithmetic mean because the probabilistic distribution cannot be assumed to be a Normal distribution. We interpret the simulation results by comparing them with the suggestion of Saaty[11]. Our results show that using Saaty's value could be too generous when the dimension of the matrix is 3 and strict over 4. Finally, we propose new criteria for measuring the response consistency in AHP.

  • The objective of this report is to investigate and analyze the influnce of the different base concrete in consistency for the good production of superplasticized concrete (SPC) on the basis of the experimental results. The principal conclusions are summarized as follows. 1. SPC exhibited only slight bleeding in both cases of low and medium consistency of the base concrete, compared to the conventional concrete, compared to the coventional concrete. 2. SPC lost slump and flow value at a much faster rate than the conventional concrete with an equivalent water/cement ratio and initial consistency. 3. The compressive strength of SPC was fount to be higher than that of base and conventional concrete, and the case of base concrete with medium consistency showed a little more incretment than low consistency

  • Significant research has been devoted to the consistency index of the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) from several perspectives. Critics of the consistency index in AHP state that the critical value of consistency index depends on an average of the random index based simulation study using a 9 scale comparison matrix. We found that the distribution of the consistency index followed the skew distribution according to the dimension of the comparison matrix based on a simulation study with a 9 scale comparison matrix. From the simulation study, we suggest a consistency index quantile table to assist the decision-making process in AHP; in addition, we can approximate the distribution of the consistency index to the gamma distribution under the limited assumptions.

  • In cloud computing, a enterprise or a client can use resources of computers that they are not own them. In case of Web 2.0 applications, such as Facebook, it is difficult to predict the maximum popularity of the service. But, the cloud computing may give a solution about this problem without high cost, thus becomes wildly popular. One of the advantage of cloud computing is providing a high availability. To provide the availability when the cloud computing that has shared-nothing architecture, strict consistency is not well with cloud computing. So, some consistency was proposed including the eventual consistency that was weaken the traditional consistency and has been adopted to many cloud applications. In this paper, we observe various consistency criteria that can adjust to cloud computing and discuss about some consistency that can be adapted to many applications of cloud computing.

  • To develop an efficient and cost effective on-line method to determine the stock consistency a study on the relationship between the turbidity and transmittance of stocks and their consistency was carried out using a system consisted of a dynamic drainage jar, pump and turbidometer. Results shooed that the wavelength of 525 nm was most effective for measuring turbidity. As the consistency increases the turbidity increases, and their relationship can be depicted in the second order equations. On the other hand the relationship between consistency and transmittance can be described in exponential equations. From these equations the consistencies of stock samples can be determined using the measured values of turbidity or transmittance.

  • The most widely used models to study the quality of service are the SERVQUAL and SERVPERF models that measure service mechanisms. This paper is to estimate service efficiency and consistency for Retail Industry. We tried to measure the service quality and overall satisfaction by using DEA and PCI, degree of combination and top2box which is a little bit different methodology from traditional ones. Rather than using the usual method of converting the service quality index by mean value, the Service Efficiency Index(SEI) and Service Quality Consistency Index(SQCI) are used to measure the efficiency and consistency level, which in turn can be used as the new service quality indices. The result of SEI and SQCI show the efficiency frontier in retail industry that 6 DMUs are analyzed relative efficient DMUs, 12DMUs are inefficient DMUs and retail Industry consistency level appeared low(0.35-0.47) Also, there is a significant difference in terms of efficiency and consistency in the each retail industry. Finally, we showed the summarized result as the Effi-Con Matrix.

  • It is required for multi-users to share massive mapping data effectively that distributed data model in the Client-Server environment is developed for the replication consistency. The existing model is not effective to the long transaction just like a mapping system, since it does not account lot consistency between GUI screen and database replications even though it emphasizes on the replication consistency. The performance of concurrency control is very important for those long transactions, especially the mapping systems. This model is to support consistency between GUI screen and replicas using display locks. It suggests consistency model improving process performance by modifying memory consistency model and optimistic concurrency control for mapping data's characteristics.

  • PURPOSES: Road Design Consistency Evaluation can guarantee road alignments with safety factors, however it can be hard work to deal with general car accident factors in only this evaluation index. Ideal Road Design Consistency Evaluation is show the mutual balance of road alignment and human factors with a variety of factors for road safety. METHODS: This study carried out overall road safety evaluations which are methods of running speeding consistency and car platoon safety analysis (driver's behaviors factors) as well. RESULTS: Out of 13 sections in a experimental road layout, safety factors of 8 sections showed 'Good' or 'Fair' status. However, 'Poor' results were found out in 5 sections. Particularly, it showed the different outcomes among the 4 evaluation methods used in this study. CONCLUSIONS: Road safety countermeasures were proposed for the potentially dangerous sections in road which failed to identify in the other methods. This study will contribute toward future study of more reliable Road Design Consistency Evaluation in the future for road safety.

Influence of Grease Consistency on the Wear of Gear Surfaces

  • This paper selected three kinds of grease with the same type but different consistency for the experiment. The purpose of the experiment is tested the effect of different consistency of grease on the wear of the gear surface. Different torque test groups were selected in the test, and the lubrication effect of different greases was tested in the test groups with the same torque. After each set of tests, the wear of the gear surfaces was observed and recorded. The data recorded in the experiment included the area of the wear area on the gear surface, the type of wear and the volume of wear. After the test, the gear surface roughness was measured. By calculating the wear volume, the effects of different concentrations of grease on the gear surface wear were compared. The experimental results show that under different stress conditions, the consistency of the grease has a great influence on the lubricating effect of the gear surface and the gear wear. Under the condition with low speed and high torque, different grease consistency affect the gear surface wear, the high consistency grease can reduce the wear of the gear surface, so that the gear can get better lubrication effect during the work.

  • 3D parallel rasterizer on a single chip for high performance generates consistency problem. To solve this problem, 3D parallel rasterizer with consistency buffer Os proposed. This can simultaneously process a plurality of Primitives. Experimental results show 1.1-2.0x speedups using a simple model. This method can achieve high performance and cost effectiveness.
