Digital Broadcast Service is being very popular and the delivery mechanism for digital broadcast content through IP network has progressed constantly, due to the advance of video and audio compression and network technologies. From these trends, in Korea, the commercial IPTV service starts in this year after the law related to IPTV is enacted last year. Since IPTV service, which integrates broadcast and communication services, can give an infrastructure for fusion of communication and interactive multimedia data service, IPTV service is attractive. Recently, by the advent of various wireless connection technologies and the mobile devices of high capability, Mobile IPTV, which has an advantage of not only IPTV but also mobile TV, has gained much interest. In this paper, we review a necessary ingredient for Mobile IPTV in the next generation wired/wireless convergence network environment which consists of heterogeneous wireless access networks. In addition, we propose the scheme for user mobility and service session mobility management using RTSP protocol and introduce the service gateway concept to guarantee the extension of IPTV service platform.

The current user interface (UI) of NEIS school affairs business system is not efficient in conducting the business because of complicated data input forms as well as unharmonious connection between similar items and functional menu. In the paper, the term UI means a comprehensive concept including input/output, input/output related functionality, and menu configuration for users to perform their tasks. The first survey, carried out with one hundred teachers at three elementary schools of Kyeonggi-do, shows that the UI problems of the system are manual inputs, inconvenient menu configuration, disconnection between academic calendar and educational process, complexities of managing attendance report and curriculum evaluation, etc. We have improved the UI design by providing more efficient input method and more systematic menu configuration compared to the current system, and then evaluated the design through the second survey. Evaluation results show that users prefer the proposed UI design especially from the viewpoint of user-friendly input interface and user-oriented view composition.

The umbilical system used for launch vehicle is to connect all ground supply lines (Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical) to launch vehicle and disconnect those at few second before launch vehicle lift-off (or simultaneously with launch vehicle lift-off). During launch preparation stage, all umbilical shall be securely connected and also at separation stage, separation of all umbilical line shall be guaranteed. Therefore finding an appropriate connection force is a key factor on development of umbilical system. According to these design requirement, various kind of umbilical system has been developed from early stage of space development till today. In this paper, various kind of umbilical system developed so far is introduced according to its feature and operational concept. Also, umbilical system used for KSLV-II is introduced

This study tried to analyze the case of character education class using reading for pre-primary early childhood teachers. To this end, the criteria for character education were established based on literature research, and a list of books appropriate for it was selected, and then applied to practice. The goal of character education class using reading for pre-school teachers is to cultivate the character that an early childhood teacher should have and to develop the ability to apply character education program through reading to young children. This study selected books based on the contents of personality virtues after taking a course on the concept and theory of personality contents for college students who are taking the 'personality and emotional reading' course in their major. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it presents contents that can be practiced in connection with the family as a personality education program that can be applied not only to pre-primary teachers, but also to early childhood teachers and young children.

This study aims to develop two science education programs using Angbuilgu and ancient astronomical data, are Korean astronomical heritage, and explore its educational possibility through the pilot application. Considering the TSK compositional characteristics of Angbuilgu and ancient astronomical data, linkage with science curriculum, and linkage with NOS, Angbuilgu was developed as a hands-on activity for elementary school students and ancient astronomical data as a science inquiry activity for middle and high school students. The educational availability of the developed program was confirmed by pilot application to elementary and high school groups. Through the Angbuilgu activity, the students refined their conceptual knowledge by correcting misconceptions about the solar motion by season and then confirmed the possibility of connection with the concept of the celestial coordinate system. Students recognized the scientific value of Angbuilgu and understood the nature of interactions STS. In the ancient astronomical data activity, students experienced inductive and deductive inquiry methods and utilized various information and strategies. Through the activities, students improved their scientific understanding and attitude towards TSK.

A new clamped mechanical splice system was proposed to develop structural performance and constructability for precast concrete connections. The proposed mechanical splice resists external loading immediately after the engagement. The mechanical splices applicable for both large-scale rebars for plants and small-scale rebars for buildings were developed with the same design concept. Quasi-static lateral cyclic loading tests were conducted with reinforced and precast concrete members to verify the seismic performance. Also, shaking table tests with three types of seismic wave excitation, 1) random wave with white noise, 2) the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake, and 3) the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake, were conducted to confirm the dynamic performance. All tests were performed with real-scale concrete specimens. Sensors measured the lateral load, acceleration, displacement, crack pattern, and secant system stiffness, and energy dissipation was determined by lateral load-displacement relation. As a result, the precast specimen provided the emulative performance with RC. In the shaking table tests, PC frames' maximum acceleration and displacement response were amplified 1.57 - 2.85 and 2.20 - 2.92 times compared to the ground motions. The precast specimens utilizing clamped mechanical splice showed ductile behavior with energy dissipation capacity against strong motion earthquakes.

We studied the methods for boosting a user participating service using KOSEN(The Global Network or Korean Scientists and Engineers) OpenLab service. OpenLab is a laboratory database of all the fields of science and technology, and it is different from other services in that basically it makes users register their information volunteerly. User participation service is not easy, so we made several strategies like promotion, event, and connection to other services. In result, we could collect about 4,300 laboratory database. Because user participation is a key concept for the Web 2.0, this study would contribute to the operation of the related services, especially to the services for scientists and engineers.

The purpose of this paper intuitively shows the exact and logical explanation of Independent Event and Dependent Event. In actual classrooms, teachers have difficulty in describing the connection between those events and real life. Some teachers have wrong perceptions on the definition of those events. For example, they may not realize exactly what P(B A)=P(B) means and may not explain intuitively the original meaning of why it is independent event. Also they believe that Independent Event and Dependent Event do not always match with real life. This paper, therefore, tries to prove intuitively the exact meanings of those events in the Verbal Form with some examples and it proves that those events exactly match with real life. It is expected that this paper will greatly contribute to the improvement of probability education.

In September 2013, President Park Geun-hye announced her controversial "Look North" policy, of which the most salient aspect is the "Eurasia Initiative". This comprises various proposals designed to overcome existing constraints by developing new markets and creating new economic partners in continental areas from which South Korea has been alienated since the end of World War II, and this dovetails nicely with China's One Belt, One Road Initiative. The concepts of the "Silk Road Rail Express (SRX)" and the "East Sea Rim Maritime Community (ESRMC)" have also been discussed. SRX is at present a purely symbolic railroad project intended to encourage individual, cultural, trade and diplomatic exchanges. ESRMC is a model for establishing an ad hoc community to promote regional economic cooperation around the East Sea. President Park's Eurasia Initiative will provide South Korean investment for the Northeast to complement Russian plans, like the "Northern Energy Road" being built by Gazprom, and Chinese plans, like the Chang-Ji-Tu Development Plan for the North Korean port of Rajin. China's trade, as well as its energy and food supplies, pass through the Strait of Malacca and the Indian Ocean, and are thus vulnerable to interdiction by India or the US. China is therefore trying to reduce its exposure geopolitical risk by establishing a network of corridors between the Belt and the Road to provide alternative paths. The "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor" and the "China-Myanmar Economic Corridor" provide such connections, and South Korea hopes that SRX and ESRMC can become part of a "China-South Korea Economic Corridor". This concept could do much to revitalize the underdeveloped northern provinces of China and Russia's Far East, not to mention North Korea. By linking up the Trans-Siberian Railway, the Trans-China Railway, the Trans-Mongolian Railway and the Trans-Korean Railway all these Asian countries will be connected to one another, and ultimately to Europe. An interim connection between China and South Korea using a rail-ferry has also been proposed.

Recently, the off-line processes in the construction industry are being changed to the electronic processes by several information technology (IT) tools including CALS. To improve the business processes to on-line processes, the business process reengineering (BPR) is a representative methodology for reviewing unnecessary and additional processes from the established business procedure. This study suggests a new process modeling method for construction BPR (CBPR) that consists of object-related process model (ORPM). In suggested modeling method, the connection with IT tools such as Workflow, enterprise resource planning (ERP), construction CALS, and business breakdown structure (BBS) was considered. The ORPM in the study is the main model for representing the detailed construction processes. It consists of nine relationship and six diagrams to represent the relationship between construction activities and the direction within the process model. Those models suggested from this study can be a useful tool for the CBPR because the researches and the practical applications related to the BPR of construction project are insufficient in our construction industry.
