헤이그 시청사에 나타난 건축적 공공성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Architectural Publicness in Hague City hall)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the architectural publicness of Hague city hall by Richard Meier. The Hague city hall shows the systematic and comprehensive configuration of architectural publicness. Meier applied publicness to the city hall from concept and the configuration of space to object design. Architectural publicness of Hague city hall can be realized by providing large public space including atrium, programs about public events, linear space for street activities and the lower location of public facilities in the city hall without the limitation of weather, lime and size of space. Architectural publicness can obtain its real meaning when physical conditions meet the standard of public activities. Besides this, the Hague city hall case shows the desirable role model of city administrator and NGOs in that public events are organized by the independent body. The publicness of architecture is influenced by various factors including physical and political systems. The case study of the architectural publicness is very important in that it is very hard to generalize. In these basis, the study for architectural publicness can be complemented by concrete and positive case studies as well as existing humane and general studies.

비접촉 와전류 제동기의 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Touch Free Eddy-Current Brake)

  • This paper deals with the design of a touch free eddy-current brake for high speed transportation systems by using 2-dimensional Finite Element Method (2-D FEM). The eddy current brake systems have to equipped with maximum braking force and deceleration at the given volume or mass, high braking force at small rate, attraction forces as small as possible and stable construction. The parameters, such as the number of pole, electric ampere-turns and slot width have influence on these braking characteristics. For the magnet to satisfy above-mentioned performance in high speed, the braking performance according to variation of the parameters are analyzed by the 2-D FEM. In addition, the magnet stack width is determined from equivalent stack width that is calculated by solution of the Field with scalar potential. From these results, the magnet of optimized configuration with maximum braking force and minimum attraction force is designed by the process of detail design.

BEMT에 의한 100kW 풍력터빈 블레이드 기본설계 및 출력 성능해석 (Basic Configuration Design and Performance Analysis of a 100kW Wind Turbine Blade using Blade Element Momentum Theory)

  • In this study, mathematical expressions based upon the conventional BEMT(blade element momentum theory) was applied to basic 100kW wind turbine blade configuration design. Power coefficient and related flow parameters, such as Prandtl's tip loss coefficient, tangential and axial flow induction factors of the wind turbine were analyzed systematically. X-FOIL was used to acquire lift and drag coefficients of the 2-D airfoils and Viterna-Corrigan formula was used o interpolate he aerodynamic characteristics in post-stall region. Also, aerodynamic characteristics, measured in a wind tunnel to calculate he power coefficient was applied. The comparative results such as axial and tangential flow factors, power coefficients were presented in this study. Power coefficient, calculated by in-house code was compared with the GH-Bladed result. The difference of the aerodynamic characteristics caused the difference of the performance characteristics as variation as TSR.

소형 지구 관측 위성용 플래시 기반 저장장치 설계 및 시험 (Design and Test Flash-based Storage for Small Earth Observation Satellites)

  • Recently, small satellite industries are rapidly changing. Demand for high performance small satellites is increasing with the expansion of Earth Observation Satellite market. A next-generation small satellites require a higher resolution image storage capacity than before. However, there is a problem that the HW configuration of the existing small satellite image storage device could not meet these requirements. The conventional data storing system uses SDRAM to store image data taken from satellites. When SDRAM is used in small satellite platform of a next generation, there is a problem that the cost of physical space is eight times higher and satellite price is two times higher than NAND Flash. Using the same satellite hardware configuration for next-generation satellites will increase the satellite volume to meet hardware requirements. Additional cost is required for structural design, environmental testing, and satellite launch due to increasing volume. Therefore, in order to construct a low-cost, high-efficiency system. This paper shows a next-generation solid state recorder unit (SSRU) using MRAM and NAND Flash instead of SDRAM. As a result of this research, next generation small satellite retain a storage size and weight and improves the data storage space by 15 times and the storage speed by 4.5 times compare to conventional design. Also reduced energy consumption by 96% compared to SDRAM based storage devices.

배출가스 냉각장치 형상설계를 위한 수치해석 (Numerical Study for Configuration Design in the Exhaust Gas Cooling System)

  • 본 연구는 냉각효과를 높이기 위해 냉각채널 형상에 대한 변수를 다루고 있다. 냉각효과가 증가하면 제조현장에 있는 공장에 의해 발생되는 배출가스량은 감소하게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 효율적인 냉각시스템에 대한 설계가 필요하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 냉각채널을 냉각성능을 향상시키기 위해 수치분석을 수행하였다. 배플과 핀의 길이에 영향을 받는 열전달률은 수치해석에 의해 계산이 된다. 3차원 레이놀즈 평균 나비아스토크 방정식이 유동과 냉각채녈의 열전달을 계산하는데 사용되며 난류영역은 $k-{\varepsilon}$ 모델이 사용되었다.

역해석을 이용한 차체 부재의 트리밍라인 최적설계 (Optimum Design of Trimming Line by One-Step Analysis for Auto Body Parts)

  • During most of manufacturing processes of auto-body panels, the trimming line should be designed in advance prior to flanging. It is an important task to find a feasible trimming line to obtain a precise final part shape after flanging. This paper proposes a new fast method to find feasible trimming line based on one-step analysis. The basic idea of the one-step analysis is to seek for the nodal positions in the initial blank from the final part, and then the distribution of strain, stress and thickness in the final configuration can be calculated by comparing the nodal position in the initial blank sheet with the one of the final part. The one-step analysis method is able to predict the trimming line before flanging since the desired product shape after flanging can be defined from the final configuration and most of strain paths are simple during the flanging process. Finally, designers can obtain a discrete trimming line from the boundary of the developed meshes after one-step analysis and import it into CAD system in the early design stage. The proposed method has been successfully applied to two basic curve flanging processes demonstrating many advantages.

1996년 이후 패션 콜렉션에 나타난 크로스오버 코디네이션에 관한 연구 (A Case Study on Crossover Coordination Applied in Fashion Collection since 1996)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand fashion trend and characteristics by finding out the influences of crossover on modern fashion coordination through the identification of crossover coordination trend and characteristics. With a review of the literature, this study analyzed crossover coordination according to the types of expression methodology, periodical changes and designer's tastes that appeared through the collections of the six representative designers from 1996 to 2004. The results of this study were as follows. As a result of analysis of our sources, we realized that crossover coordination was shown most frequently in 1997 and Christian Dior was the designer who used crossover coordination most frequently. Among lots of crossover coordination cases, most of the cases are the coordination with different materials. In our results, trends of crossover coordination in materials appeared again about every five years cycle. Christian Dior combined different elements through silhouette and material, Dolce & Gabbana combined images and Jean Paul Gaultier combined different elements in the aspect of purpose and wearing configuration.

1단 2실린더 $CO_2$ 압축기의 실린더 형상 최적 설계 (Optimal Design of Cylinder Configuration for a 1-Stage Two Cylinder $CO_2$ Compressor)

  • Recently, focus has been drawn on natural refrigerants due to increasing concern on global warming. As a consequence, CO2 systems such as a heat pump water heater using CO2 as a refrigerant are rapidly growing on the market. Currently, rolling piston rotary compressors are widely used for CO2 heating and/or refrigeration systems. There are several ways of realizing gas compression structure. They are single stage compression with single cylinder, single stage compression with two cylinders, and two stage compression with two cylinders. In this paper, computer simulation program which was validated for a single stage rotary compressor with one cylinder has been extended for a single stage, two cylinder rotary type. Numerical investigation has been made on optimal design for the cylinder configuration using the extended simulation program. For a single stage two cylinder rotary compressor having a displacement volume of 4 cc for each cylinder, compressor efficiency has been found to be maximum when the cylinder radius and height are 31mm and 10mm, respectively.

관계형 데이타모델을 이용한 선체구조의 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relational Data Model for the Representation of Ship Structure)

  • 지금까지 선체구조 설계 관련 정보는 주로 도면을 통해서 전해져 왔으나 최신의 컴퓨터 관련 기술인 CAD 시스템이나 DBMS등을 이용하면 설계과정에서의 중복작업을 없앰으로서 설계생산성을 크게 높일 수 있다. 본연구에서는 선체구조 설계 관련 정보를 데이터 베이스관리시스템을 통하여 일관화하기 위해서 선체 중앙부 구조부재들의 배치형상과 속성정보들에 대한 데이터 모델링을 시도하였으며, 그 적용예로서 산적화물선의 중앙부 구조형상을 컴퓨터 그래픽을 이용하여 가시화 하였다. 데이터모델의 구조는 관계형으로 하였으며 선체구조의 접속관계정보를 이용하여 구조부재의 배치형상처리를 용이하게 하였다. 결과로서 나온 데이타 관계형 데이터베이스 관리시스템 'ORACLE'을 통해 저장되고 질의어를 통해 다른 시스템에서 직접 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • The unexpected expansion of the built environment has allowed for high-density and high-rise buildings. As high-density dwellings compromise privacy, the requirements for balancing between interacting with others and protecting privacy are increasing. In this respect, Korean traditional architecture provides privacy through a proper balance of openness and closure in the courtyard garden. However, it is difficult to analyze privacy quantitatively, as it depends on the individual experience and psychology. The analyzing for visual privacy is a significant issue to resolve a conflict with others and enhance human's comfort. Therefore, this paper addresses the assumption that visual privacy could ultimately be quantified based on the concept of prospect and refuge, one of the design strategies for psychological wellbeing. The purpose of this study is to examine visual privacy in the royal palace in Korea, Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung. It measures spatial configuration in each buildings using space syntax, and the area ratio of prospect and refuge through an image analysis with Adobe Photoshop CS6. The mathematical properties of connectivity, depth, control value, integration and the area ratio of prospect and refuge are partially available for quantifying visual privacy in buildings.
