  • In this paper, E-polarized electromagnetic scattering problems by a conductive strip grating between a double dielectric layer are analyzed by applying the FGMM(Fourier-Galerkin moment method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, and the conductive boundary condition is applied to analysis of the conductive strip. The numerical results for the normalized reflected and transmitted power are analyzed by according as the width and spacing of conductive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of the double dielectric layers, and incident angles. Generally, as the value of the dielectric constant of the double dielectric layer increases, the reflected power increases and the transmitted power decreases, respectively. As the dielectric constant of the double dielectric layer increases, the current density induced in the strip center increases. The numerical results for the presented structure of this paper are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop ECG electrode materials for the heart rate monitoring smart band, a smart device used for ECG and heart rate measurement. The purpose of the evaluation is to assess properties and conductivity of electrodes of the existing heart rate monitoring smart band, and to determine suitability through a representative conductive sample. Because level of thickness does not differ significantly from value of conductive specimen from thickness of the smart band, it can be used as a conductive electrode. Surface conductivity of conductive samples and smart bands, is expected to be available as electrodes except for conductive film. Also, since the knit have conductivity only in the metal processing layer, it is necessary to use electrodes on the part of the metal processing layer that is conductive when applying the knit. Tensile strength and electrical conductivity of the tensile were generally revealed to have a tendency. Thickness of the specimen that can be used as an electrode for the smart band is suitable for all samples, electrical resistance, conductive woven, conductive knit, and conductive cord. In the case of conductive cord, however, the electrode attached to the human body will not conform to the flat shape of the electrode attached to the human body. Therefore, the conductive woven and the conductive knit will be available as an electrode.

  • We fabricated conductive zinc oxide (ZnO) thin film at low temperature by UV-enhanced atomic layer deposition. The atomic layer deposition relies on alternate pulsing of the precursor gases onto the substrate surface and subsequent chemisorption of the precursors. In this experiment, diethylzinc (DEZ) and $H_2O$ were used as precursors with UV light. The UV light was very effective to improve the conductivity of the ZnO thin film. The thickness, transparency and resistivity were investigated by ellisometry, UV-visible spectroscopy and Four-point probe.

  • E-textile technology has earned a great deal of interest in many fields; however, existing wearable network protocols are not optimized for use with conductive yarn. In this paper, some of the basic properties of conductive textiles and requirements on wearable personal area networks (PANs) are reviewed. Then, we present a wearable personal network (WPN), which is a four-layered wearable PAN using bus topology. We have designed the WPN to be a lightweight protocol to work with a variety of microcontrollers. The profile layer is provided to make the application development process easy. The data link layer exchanges frames in a master-slave manner in either the reliable or best-effort mode. The lower part of the data link layer and the physical layer of WPN are made of a fabric serial-bus interface which is capable of measuring bus signal properties and adapting to medium variation. After a formal verification of operation and performances of WPN, we implemented WPN communication modules (WCMs) on small flexible printed circuit boards. In order to demonstrate the behavior of our WPN on a textile, we designed a WPN tutorial shirt prototype using implemented WCMs and conductive yarn.

  • In this paper, TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a conductive strip grating between grounded double dielectric layer are analyzed by applying the PMM(point matching method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, the scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions, and the conductive boundary condition is applied to analysis of the conductive strip. The numerical results for normalized reflected power are analyzed by according as the width and spacing of conductive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of the double dielectric layers, and incident angles. The most normalized reflected powers of the sharp variations in minimum values are scattered in direction of the other angles except incident angle. The numerical results for the presented structure of this paper having a grounded double dielectric layer are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

  • An Indium Zinc Oxide(IZO) transparent conductive layer was deposited on a large size glass substrate by using magnetron dc sputtering method with varying a deposition temperature. As the deposition temperature decreased to a room temperature, the sheet resistance of IZO film increased. But this deposition temperature range is included in an applicable to a device. From a standpoint of the sheet resistance, the differences of the sheet resistance were not great and the uniformity of the layer was uniformed around 10%. Crystallization particles were shown on the surface of the layer as deposition temperature increased, but these particles were not shown on the surface of the layer as deposition temperature decreased to the room temperature. It didn't make a scrap of difference in a transmittance of varying deposition temperature. Therefore, it is concluded that IZO thin film manufactured by the room temperature deposition condition can be used as a large size transparent conductive layer of a liquid crystal display device.

  • Laser induced surface activation (LISA) technology requires refined selection of process variables to fabricate conductive microcircuits on a general polymer material. Among the process variables, laser mode is one of the crucial factors to make a reliable conductor pattern. Here we compare the continuous wave (CW) laser mode with the pulse wave (PW) laser mode through determination of the surface roughness and circuit accuracy. In the CW laser mode, the surface roughness is pronounced during the implementation of the conductive circuit, which results in uneven plating. In the PW laser mode, the surface is relatively smooth and uniform, and the formed conductive circuit layer has few defects with excellent adhesion to the polymer material. As a result of a change of laser mode from CW to PW, the value of Ra of the polymer material decreases from 0.6 ㎛ to 0.2 ㎛; the value of Ra after the plating process decreases from 0.8 ㎛ to 0.4 ㎛, and a tight bonding force between the polymer source material and the conductive copper plating layer is achieved. In conclusion, this study shows that the PW laser process yields an excellent conductive circuit on a polymeric material.

  • The structure represents symmetrical metal electrode (gate 1) - front $SiO_2$ layer - n-Si nanowire FET - buried $SiO_2$ layer - metal electrode (gate 2). At the symmetrical gate voltages high conductive regions near the gate 1 - front $SiO_2$ and gate 2 - buried $SiO_2$ interfaces correspondingly, and low conductive region in the central region of the NW are formed. Possibilities of applications of nanosize FETs at the deep inversion and depletion as a distributed capacitance are demonstrated. Capacity density is an order to ${\sim}{\mu}F/cm^2$. The charge density, it distribution and capacity value in the nanowire can be controlled by a small changes in the gate voltages. at the non-symmetrical gate voltages high conductive regions will move to corresponding interfaces and low conductive region will modulate non-symmetrically. In this case source-drain current of the FET will redistributed and change current way. This gives opportunity to investigate surface and bulk transport processes in the nanosize inversion channel.
