A Study on Experiment for Improvement of Water Quality in Concrete Block Using Illite and TiO2 Powder (일라이트와 이산화티탄을 활용한 콘크리트 블록의 수질환경개선을 위한 실험연구)

  • In order to conduct the "A Study on Experiment for Improvement of Water Quality in Concrete Block Using illite and $TiO_2$ Powder", as a result of the preliminary mortar experiment, water quality purification characteristic test, pollution-resistance test, fish poison test, and the related KS-equivalent tests after manufacturing the actual concrete block, the following conclusion were deduced. As a result of the concrete block functional evaluation equivalent to KS, all the conditions showed higher compressive strength. Even though increase of absorption rate, according to illite replacement in vesicular structure, was expected as a problem, it was replaced after mixing with Titanium dioxide, and then Titanium dioxide was settled in large pores of illite so there was no problem in absorption rate.

  • In this study, recently it is urgently required that recycle promotion of construction and demolition waste concrete because urban development is accelerated and redevelopment project is rapidly expanded, production quantity of construction and demolition waste concrete is being increased. On the other hand, it is urgently required that problem solution of demand and supply unbalance of fine aggregate because the sea sand is restricted by exhaustion of river sand and intensification of environment influence evaluation. Therefore, it tries to conform in time necessity, there is the objective of this study to provide the fundamental data about the re-application as the comparison and analysis the quality present condition for the recycled fine aggregate in the inside and outside of the country. At the same time it will be able to improve the quality of the recycled fine aggregate waste as investigating the physical nature and a quality present condition of the recycled fine aggregate from construction waste.

  • This study compares the concrete using natural sand with the concrete using crush sand for the examination for the properties of a concrete. In the fresh concrete, the concrete using crush sand has less of the quantity of consistency, the content of air, and bleeding than the concrete using natural sand, and the concrete using crush sand has faster setting time than the concrete using natural sand. In hardening concrete, the concrete using crush sand has higher compressive strength and tensile strength than the concrete using natural sand because minute particles fill up a gap. Drying shrinkage of the concrete using natural sand is less than the concrete using crush sand.

  • The purpose of this study is promote perfect of construction and progress of packing ability through comparison and analysis with quality, as placing ways and placing direction are changed. Kinds of concrete are general, high fluidity, and high Performance concrete. Classified with concrete as placing ways - direct ways, sheath way - and placing directing - flange direction, web direction - is analyzed section and strength of hardened concrete. The results of this study is belows the more fluid of concrete, the more useful to top-down method.

  • The safety and serviceability of concrete structures are influenced by corrosion of steel bars in concrete. Several methods have been available to protect the reinforcing bars from corrosion. Among them, the surface coating method is one of the easiest way to apply to concrete structures. However, the realistic guideline for surface coating materials has not been established yet in this country. In this study, in order to establish a reasonable technical guidelines which include the test method, quality criteria, and construction method, the performances of surface coating materials were evaluated.

  • High-Flowability Concrete has many advanced properties and been focused on their workability. Because of the difficulty in understanding of the quality of High-Flowablity Concrete just using slump properties, many studies have been carried out rheological properties influenced on concrete fluidity. In this paper, for the purpose of expecting some level of rheological properties, the change of rheological properties of High-Flowability Concrete with dosages and types of superplasticizer, and various addition amounts addictives were investigated.

  • As construction technology advances, most of concrete structures are becoming larger and taller. Therefore, high strength and quality concrete is necessary for them. So, the proposal of using belite cement is investigated to satisfy high flowing, low heat, and high strength. In this study, the compressive strength, tensile strength, and modulous of elasticity of concrete using belite cement was considered according to the mix proposition condition as a water-cement ratio, unit cement content, and sand percentage.

  • The construction waste concrete produce from the demolished concrete structures. These waste concrete materials are useful and valuable for fill and subgrade and are considered to use as the subgrade material of the road. To use the subgrade of the road with the waste concrete, the several experiments involved with compaction test and laboratory C. B. R. etc. are performed. These experiments are compared with criteria of the road construction manual. It is shown that the quality of the construction waste concrete satisfies that of the subgrade mentioned in the road construction manual.
