Study on seismic behavior of fabricated beam-column bolted joint

  • To better promote the development of fabricated buildings, this paper studies the seismic behavior of precast concrete beam-column bolted joint under vertical low cyclic loading. The experimental results show that cracks appear in the beam-column joint core area. Meanwhile, the concrete and the grade 5.6 bolts are damaged and deformed, respectively. Specifically, the overall structure of the beam-column joint remains intact, and the bolts have good energy dissipation capacity. Based on the experimental study, a new method of beam-column bolted connection is proposed in simulation analysis. The simulation results show that the bolts deform in the core area of the new beam-column joint, which enhances the concrete shear capacity legitimately and protects the T-end of the beam against shear failure. To summarize, both the experimental joint and the simulated joint prolong the service life by replacing the bolts under the seismic loading. The research results provide a reference for applications of the fabricated beam-column joint.

줄눈형식에 따른 공항 콘크리트 포장 하중전달율 비교 (Comparison with Load Transfer Efficiency for Joint Types in Airport Concrete Pavements)

  • PURPOSES : This study is to compare load transfer efficiency of key joint and dowel joint for airport concrete pavement. METHODS : As AC150/5320-6D of FAA's [Advisory Circular] was changed into AC150/5320-6E, Key joint type of rigid pavement were excluded from Construction Joints. LTE(Load Transfer Efficiency) of dowel joint and key joint were compared by times and seasons through pavement temperature measurement, ocular investigation and HWD measurement. RESULTS : For the joint performance grade of No. 2(The second) runway of airport, 12% of poor rate was observed in key joint and 2% of poor rate in dowel joint. Poor rate of key joint was increased to 17%, if only No. 3~No. 6 slabs, which are mostly loaded from the airplanes, were applied for the study. In apron area, LTE poor rate of key joint was high in winter, and LTE poor rate of dowel joint was at least above 'Fair' grade. In summer, 'Fair' for key joint, 'Acceptable' for dowel joint appeared. CONCLUSIONS : As results, dowel joint was superior than key joint for LTE. Deviations of seasons and times were smaller in dowel joint's result. And LTE in winter was lower than LTE in summer.

  • This paper presents an analytical prediction of the elastic behavior of discontinuous displacement in reinforced concrete column-footing joint under earthquake. Material nonlinearity is taken into account by comprising tensile, compressive and shear models of cracked concrete and a model of reinforcing steel. The smeared crack approach is incorporated. In boundary plane at which each member with different thickness is connected, local discontinuous deformation due to the abrupt change in their stiffness can be taken into account by introducing interface element. The proposed numerical method for hysteretic behavior of discontinuous displacement in reinforced concrete column-footing joint will be verified by comparison with reliable experimental results.

포스트텐션 콘크리트 포장의 줄눈 폭 설계 (Joint Width Design for Post-Tensioned Concrete Pavement)

  • 포스트텐션 콘크리트 포장(PTCP: Post-Tensioned Concrete Pavement)에서 강선의 긴장 간격 설계와 더불어 주요 설계 인자로서 줄눈의 초기 설계 폭을 들 수 있다. 줄눈 폭의 결정은 소음과 승차감에 직접 영향을 미치며 초기 폭이 과도하게 크면 소음과 승차감에 악영향을 미치게 되며, 초기 폭이 지나치게 작게 되면 하절기 온도상승으로 블로우업 현상이 발생할 수 있으며 또한 과도한 압축응력에 의해 줄눈부의 파손이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 PTCP의 초기 줄눈 폭 설계를 최적화하고 온도변화에 따른 줄눈 폭의 거동을 분석하기 위하여 수행되었다. 시공 후 1년이 경과한 PTCP 슬래브를 대상으로 줄눈 폭에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. 콘크리트의 온도는 PTCP 슬래브에 온도측정 센서를 깊이별로 설치하여 측정하였고, 줄눈 폭의 측정은 버어니어캘리퍼스를 이용하여 하루 중 다양한 시간대에 측정하여 온도와 줄눈 폭과의 연관성을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 시공초기 최적화된 줄눈 폭 설계방안을 제시하였다.

  • The experimental study for the interior beam-column joint for high strength conccrete using Belite cement is presented. Test parameters are compressive strength, flexual strength ratio and joint shear stresslevel. The results from cyclic loading tests show different behaviors from the various parameters. Also, The different behaviors on beam-column joint can be achived by the different concrete strength.

  • Although concrete pavements were successfully widespread throughout the nation due to the desirable surface characteristics, durability, and economy, it still causes several transverse cracking and joint failure problems in some areas. In this paper, the major emphasis was given to provide a rational analytical approach on joint failure mechanisms, considering several sets of joint stiffnesses on different subgrade moduli. Besides , load transfer mechanisms on concrete pavement joints were highlighted with finite element method and computer modeling.

Study on seismic performance of connection joint between prefabricated prestressed concrete beams and high strength reinforcement-confined concrete columns

  • As the common cast-in-place construction works fails to meet the enormous construction demand under rapid economic growth, the development of prefabricated structure instead becomes increasingly promising in China. For the prefabricated structure, its load carrying connection joint play a key role in maintaining the structural integrity. Therefore, a novel end plate bolt connecting joint between fully prefabricated pre-stressed concrete beam and high-strength reinforcement-confined concrete column was proposed. Under action of low cycle repeated horizontal loadings, comparative tests are conducted on 6 prefabricated pre-stressed intermediate joint specimens and 1 cast-in-place joint specimen to obtain the specimen failure modes, hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, ductility factor, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation capacity and other seismic indicators, and the seismic characteristics of the new-type prefabricated beam-column connecting joint are determined. The test results show that all the specimens for end plate bolt connecting joint between fully prefabricated pre-stressed concrete beam and high-strength reinforcement-confined concrete column have realized the design objectives of strong column weak beam. The hysteretic curves for specimens are good, indicating desirable ductility and energy dissipation capacity and seismic performances, and the research results provide theoretical basis and technical support for the promotion and application of prefabricated assembly frames in the earthquake zone.

줄눈콘크리트 포장 가로줄눈부의 피로수명 (The Fatigue Life of Transverse Joint of Concrete Pavement)

  • This paper presents the fatigue life of transverse joint of concrete pavement with the fatigue model test. A 1/12 scale model was used to satisfy the geometric load, material similitude, which are variables to the skew angel of transverse joint. From the test results by fatigue load 700kgf applied, we can have that the fatigue life of transverse joint with skew angle is better than that of transverse joint without skew angle. In addition, we can have that the fatigue life of skewed transverse joint with angle of 10 degree is better than that of skewed transverse joint with angle of 20 degree.

루이스 칸 건축에 나타나는 반접합(反接合)의 의미에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Meaning of Dis-joint in the Architecture of Louis Kahn)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of 'dis-joint' in the works of Louis I. Kahn. Kahn tried to realize his main architectural thoughts of 'what it wants to be' and 'how it was done' through his whole life. The concept of 'dis-joint' had been developed to visualize his architectural thoughts. Kahn used' dis-joint' to show and emphasize the structural system for the raison d'etre of building. Kahn's 'dis-joint' can be categorized as 'spacing', 'butt', 'slit' and 'protrusion'. Kahn used this kind of unusual way of joint beyond simple exposure to stress the existence of element, part and building itself. Through variable combination usage of 'dis-joint', Kahn can realize his architectural thoughts into building in a concrete way. The efficiency and function of joint is not the main issue in his works. 'Dis-joint' was the concrete tool to show the tectonic of architecture and construction process to enhance its presence. Therefore 'dis-joint' of Kahn's architecture is not a joint only to combine building parts but a concrete mean to realize his thoughts in a corporeal way. These facts insinuate that Kahn's architectural philosophy is based on the thoughts of tectonic and its realization.

콘크리트포장의 줄눈의 잠김에 대한 연구 (A Study for Joint Freezing in Concrete Pavement)

  • 줄눈콘크리트포장의 줄눈은 온도 및 습도변화에 기인하여 발생하는 슬래브내에 무작위하게 발생하는 균열을 제어할 목적으로 설계된다. 이러한 인위적인 균열 (줄눈)은 자연발생적인 균열에 비하여 줄눈채움, 하중전달장치등의 보호대책을 강구하는 것이 용이하다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 줄눈채움의 잠재적인 이점은 표면수의 하부층으로의 침투로 인한 하부층의 약화 및 비압축성 물질 (작은 입자위 골재)의 줄눈내에 끼어듦으로 인한 스폴링을 방지하는데 있다. 합리적인 줄눈 채움의 설계를 위해서는 줄눈폭의 변화 (줄눈의 수평 움직임)의 산정이 중요한 입력요소이다. LTPP SMP 연구에 포함된 16개의 줄눈콘크리트포장의 줄눈의 수평움직임에 대한 장기 현장계측자료를 토대로 상당수의 줄눈에서 수평움직임을 허용하지 않고 있다는 것이 밝혀진바 있다. 이러한 현상을 줄눈잠김이라고 한다. 줄눈잠김이 발생하는 원인은 설계상에 계획된 줄눈부의 균열이 발생하지 않기 때문이라고 추정된다. 본 연구에서는 임의의 줄눈콘크리트포장에서 줄눈잠김의 비율을 예측할 수 있는 모델을 제시하였고 줄눈 잠김이 포장체의 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.
