  • The unit-water content of concrete is one of the important factors in determining the quality of concrete and is directly related to the durability of the construction structure, and the current method of measuring the unit-water content of concrete is applied by the Air Meta Act and the Electrostatic Capacity Act. However, there are complex and time-consuming problems with measurement methods. Therefore, high frequency moisture sensor was used for quick and high measurement, and unit-water content of mortar was evaluated through machine running and deep running based on measurement big data.

  • The climate on the Korean Peninsula has been warmed recently, abnormal weather conditions such as heat waves, cold waves, and tropical nights have been detected frequently. Precisely, the number of days with cold waves in the winter has increased, and rapid changes of temperature in the morning and afternoon have occurred frequently in the 2000s. Due to the previous phenomenons, this research is focused on evaluating the concrete's Chloride Penetration Resistance and Durability, and the difference of the resistance according to the W/C.

  • The unit quantity that affects the workability, shrinkage cracking, and durability of concrete is an important factor. Methods for measuring the unit quantity include a high frequency heating method, a capacitance method, a unit volume mass method, and a simple method. However, these methods have the disadvantage of poor measurement method, time required, and precision. To solve this problem, a relatively simple and fast measurement method was adopted to compensate for the shortcomings through a Frequency Domain Reflection (FDR) sensor, and the unit quantity was used. In addition, the measurement data was analyzed by deep learning to evaluate the unit quantity of concrete.

  • Fly ash is glassy dust collected from coal fired power plant. Recently, much research for fly ash conducted in Korea and fly ash is a valuable material especially when it used in high strength, high flowable, high durability concrete. But it varies with coal source, coal grinding and boiler conditions. Therefore, it is important that quality control of fly ash itself to get high quality concrete. In this study, over 20 samples of Poryong and Samchonpo fly ashs are tested and analyzed. The physical, chemical properties of fly ash and their relationships are investigated and it can be applied to quality control of concrete.

  • For the development of lilght weight cement concrete with high durability, this study used perlite and paper sludge ash by the light weight material, and polypropylene fiber by the reinforcment, and poly-acrylic ester emulsion by the matrix improvement. According to the increasing mixture ratio of fiber and use of polymer, the light weight polypropylene fiber reinforced polymer cement ratio of fiber and use of polymer, the light weight polypropylene fiber reinforced polymer cement concrete were showed high resistance for frost damage.

  • Generally the corrosion expansion of the steel due to outdoor corrosive environmental factor brings about serious problem on the durability of concrete structures. It is the purpose of this study to see whether adapted sacrificial anode method is effective or not. from the experimental results. the potential of steel in concrete in case of adapting the sacrificial anode method satisfies protection standard value (less than -850mV vs CSE).

  • This study was performed to develop effective management system of concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants. This D/B system includes three kinds of data : 1)visual inspection data(cracking, spalling, etc.) 2) durability data carbonation, chloride attack, etc. 3) in-service inspection data(prestressing force. material properties, etc. ) By using the life management D/B System, the field engineers can easily acquire the information about the various inspection data. repair and accidental histories of structures. This system, will contribute to the efficient life management of concrete structures.
