The surfacing of bridge-decks are object to secure trafficability and to protect bridge face from impact load of traffic volume and other external conditions. But the deformation of pavements and cracks happen due to the damage of the bridge-decks surfacing from the increase of the traffic, short maintenance period and continuous vibration of bridge. This test is to make the 3-type high performance concrete that has different mixing ratio and is added the blast furnace slag, fly ash and silica respectively, and to compare 3-type high performance concrete of normal high strength concrete of $400kgf/cm^2$ strength through the static loading test and fatigue test. And test specimen is united floor slab and pavement for the durability of bridge.

Because of relatively heavy dead weight of concrete itself and unavoidable heat of massive concrete in bridge piers, circular hollow columns are widely used in Korean highway bridges. Since the occurrence of 1995 Kobe earthquake, there have been much concerns about seismic design for various infrastructures, inclusive of bridge structures. It is, however, understood that there are not much research works for nonlinear behavior of circular hollow columns subjected to earthquake motions. The ultimate of this experimental research is investigate nonlinear behavior of circular hollow reinforced concrete bridge piers under the quasi-static cyclic load, and then to enhance their ductility by strengthening the plastic hinge region with glassfiber sheets. It is concluded from quasi-static tests for 7 bridge piers that energy dissipation capacity and curvatures for a given displacement ductility factor $\{\mu}=frac{\Delta}{\Delta_y}$are about 20% higher for the seismically designed columns and about 70% higher for the retrofitted piers than the nonseismically designed columns in a conventional way.

The resent earthquakes in worldwide have caused extensive damage to highway reinforced concrete bridge piers. It has been observed in the Korean Peninsula that the number of minor or low earthquake motions have increased year by year. Since the concern about the earthquake hazards is increased, the objective of this research is to evaluate the damage of reinforced concrete bridge piers subjected to probable earthquake motions. Experimental investigation was conducted to study the seismic performance of the full-scale specimens in size D=1.2m H=4.8m, which were constructed with different longitudinal lap splice and loading pattern, through the quasi-static test and the pseudo-dynamic test. It is thought that this result could contribute to establish the retrofit decision-making and disaster planning of reinforced concrete bridge piers in earthquake regions. And it could be also possible to quantify the damage of reinforced concrete bridge piers under cyclic loading

There are a lot of problem about waterproofing membrane coating for concrete deck of bridge and waterproofing sheets for concrete of deck of bridge because it couldn't confirm waterproofing's defeat after construction. These problems make a waterproofing material damage and concrete deck of bridge damage. So It needs a lot of money for repair work and reinforcement work. Therefor the structure slab of using waterproofing material protect invasion of water. Also, Concrete deck of bridge need a endurance permeability for the reduction repair payment. In this study, An experimental study on the quality standardization test method waterproofing layer on working of live load

In this study, the Ground Penetrating Radar(GPR) was tested to evaluate the condition of concrete decks. Test results obtained by CPR were compared with values measured from drilled cores and damage mapping by the visual survey. It is shown that GPR can provide highly accurate measurements of layer properties of concrete decks and can map areas of deterioration in bridge decks by dielectric constants. The deck condition can be grouped into categories of "good" or "distressed". The ground penetrating radar data shows promise for producing rapid and accurate condition assessment for bridge decks. And these data can be used to evaluate highway bridge condition and make cost-effective bridge deck rehabilitation by accurately estimating the quantity of deteriorated concrete.

A method of calculating the natural frequency corresponding to the modes of vibration of beams and tower structures, with irregular cross sections and with arbitrary boundary conditions was developed and reported by Kim, D. H. in 1974. In this paper, the result of application of this method to the three span continuous reinforced concrete bridge with elastic intermediate supports is presented. Such bridge represents either concrete or sandwich type three span bridge on polymeric supports for passive control or on actuators for active control The concrete slab is considered as a special orthotropic plate. The influence of the modulus of the foundation and $D_{22}$, $D_{12}$, $D_{66}$ stiffnesses on the natural frequency is thoroughly studied.

This paper presents a nonlinear finite element analysis procedure for the performance assessment of deteriorated reinforced concrete bridge columns. A computer program, named RCAHEST (Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology), was used to analyze these reinforced concrete structures. Material nonlinearity is taken into account by comprising tensile, compressive and shear models of cracked concrete and a model of reinforcing steel. Advanced deteriorated material models are developed to predict behaviors of deteriorated reinforced concrete bridge columns. The proposed numerical method for the performance of damaged reinforced concrete bridge columns is verified by comparison with reliable experimental results.

Recent earthquakes in California and Japan caused extensive damage to highway bridge structures. It is also thought that during probable earthquakes bridge structures in Korea could be failed due to the structural deficiencies, which were nonseismically designed and constructed before 1992. In these regards, innovative strengthening methods have been developed to repair reinforced concrete bridge columns, especially by glassfiber sheet bonding methods which are widely used today. The primary objective of this research is to investigate the seismic behavior of RC bridge columns retrofitted with composite straps and to propose pertinent guidelines of repair and rehabilitation method for earthquake resistant design procedure of RC bridges which are located in low or moderate seismicity regions. Six scaled-down concrete test specimens were made with test variables such as lap splice ratio, axial force ratio, confinement ratio, composite straps in the plastic hinge region. Pertinent design guidelines could be developed for the earthquake resistant design of RC bridge piers retrofitted with glassfibers in low or moderate seismic region.
It is known that lap splice in the longitudinal reinforcement of reinforced concrete(RC) bridge columns is not desirable for seismic performance, but it is sometimes unavoidable. Lap splices were practically located in the potential plastic hinge region of most bridge columns that were constructed before the adoption of the seismic design provision of Korea Bridge Design Specification on 1992. The objective of this research is to evaluate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete(RC) bridge piers with lap splicing of longitudinal reinforcement in the plastic hinge region, to develop the enhancement scheme of their seismic capacity by retrofitting with glassfiber sheets, and to develop appropriate limited ductility design concept in low or moderate seismicity region. Nine test specimens in the aspect ratio of 4 were made with three confinement ratios and three types of lap splice. Quasi-static test was conducted in a displacement-controlled way under three different axial load levels. A significant reduction of displacement ductility ratios was observed for test columns with lap splices of longitudinal steels.

Further to static test on aged RC bridge slabs strengthened with TYFO glassfibers, fatigue tests have been done on aged RC bridge slabs with and without glassfibers. It can be seen from the test that fatigue behaviors of aged RC bridge slabs stiffened with TYFO glassfibers have been by and large improved comparing with those of aged RC bridge slabs without TYFO, but fatigue failure modes have not been changed become of bonding failure between tensile reinforcements and concrete. It is in particular noted from the test that bonding failure between concrete surface and TYFO have been observed. Further tests are strongly necessiated to develop appropriate anchoring method for improving fatigue life of aged RC bridge slabs strengthened with TYFO glassfibers.
