네트워크를 이용한 온실 감시 시스템의 개발 (Development of a Greenhouse Monitoring System Using Network)

  • This study was carried out to design, construct, and test a greenhouse monitoring system fur the environment and status of control devices in a greenhouse from a remote site using internet. The measuring items selected out of many environmental factors were temperature, humidity, solar radiation, CO$_2$, SOx, NOx concentration, EC, pH of nutrient solution, the state of control devices, and the image of greenhouse. The developed greenhouse monitoring system was composed of the network system and the measuring module. The network system consists of the three kinds of monitors named the Croup Monitor. the Client Monitor and the Server Monitor. The results of the study are summarized as follows. 1. The measuring module named the House Monitor. which is used to watch the state of the control device and the environment of the greenhouse, was developed to a embedded monitoring module using one chip microprocessor 2. For all measuring items. the House Monitor showed a satisfactory accuracy within the range of ${\pm}$0.3%FS. The House Monitors were connected to the Croup Monitor by communication method of RS-485 type and could operate under power and communication fault condition within 10 hours. The Croup Monitor was developed to receive and display measurement data received from the House Monitors and to control the greenhouse environmental devices. 3. The images of the plants inside greenhouse were captured by PC camera and sent to the Group Monitor. The greenhouse manager was able to monitor the growth state of plants inside greenhouse without visiting individual greenhouses. 4. Remote monitoring the greenhouse environment and status of control devices was implemented in a client/server environment. The client monitor of the greenhouse manager at a remote site or other greenhouse manager was able to monitor the greenhouse environment and the state of control devices from the Server Monitor using internet.

Development of a Real-time Monitoring Device for Measuring Particulate Matter

  • In this study, we have developed a real-time monitoring device for measuring $PM_{10/2.5/1}$ of ambient aerosol particles. The real-time PM (Particulate Matter) monitor was based on the light scattering method and had 16 channels in particle size. The laboratory and field tests were carried out to evaluate the performance of the PM monitor developed. Arizona Road Dust particles ranging from diameter of 0.1 to $20{\mu}m$ were generated as test particles in the laboratory test. The field test was carried out at the Seoul Meteorological Observatory. We can obtain the particle size and number concentration (particle size distribution) only from the real-time PM monitor developed. Therefore, the average density of aerosol particles was used to obtain the PM data from the particle size distribution. The $PM_{10/2.5/1}$ results of the PM monitor were compared with the data of the Grimm Dust Monitor (Model 1.108) and a beta ray gauge (Thermo Fisher Scientific). As a result, it was shown that the $PM_{10/2.5/1}$ results obtained by the real-time PM monitor agreed well with the data of the reference devices, and overall, the real-time PM monitor could be used as a PM monitoring device for real-time monitoring of the ambient particles.

  • Purpose Serum Thyroglobulin measurement is a major tool for the follow-up of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) patients. Thyroglobulin is Normal thyroid tissue, or thyroid cancer tissue produced only. Thyroid hormone to a halt without Tg differentiation of thyroid cancer recurrence just by measuring how to decide whether there was increasing expectations if I can do it instead. Therefore, in excellent sensitivity Tg new inspection of the functional sensitivity by measuring the looked to evaluate the usefulness of reagents. Thyroidectomy is measuring the numbers Tg (total thyroidectomy) remaining thyroid ablation and radioactive iodine (radioactive iodine remnant ablation, RRA) DTC in patients being diagnosed with or help predict the remaining early detection of thyroid cancer recurrence. Conclusion Recently ultrasensitive thyroglobulin this clinically important indicators of the previous kit and demands are lower than sensitivity to the measurement results. Therefore, ultrasensitive thyroglobulin test is correlated that there would be useful in value in nuclear medicine the thyroid gland.

中共 核實驗에 의한 서울地區의 放射線 汚染度 評價 (Radioactivity Originating from the Chinese Nuclear Test Explosions Observed in Seoul District in 1964-1967)

  • 1963年에서 1967年에 걸쳐 서울地區의 人工放射能과 自然放射能을 全放射能의 測定과 放射性核種의 分析을 통하여 硏究하였다. 核分裂生成物의 濃度가 적을때는 \ulcorner은 半減期를 갖는 라듐이나 토리음의 崩壞生成物이 浮游塵의 大部分을 차지하고 있었으며 核分裂生成物에 依한 放射能은 試料 採取후 며칠 지나야 正確히 評價할수 있었다. 7次에 걸친 中共의 核實驗의 結果 두차례의 强放射能이 爆發후 30時間을 前後하여 서울地區에 나타났으며 이들은 1956年에서 1962年 사이에 美國과 蘇聯에서 행한 實驗과 比較할 때 높은 比放射能을 보였으나 持續時間은 아주 짧아서 1週內에 急激히 減少하였다. 이로 보아서 서울地區의 放射能汚染은 中共의 核實驗인 境遇 核實驗의 規模와 實驗高度 및 爆發前後의 氣象條件, 特히 高層對流圈의 제트氣流에 依해서 많은 影響을 받음을 알았다.

The Effect of Trigonella foenum-graceum L. (Fenugreek) Towards Collagen Type I Alpha 1 (COL1A1) and Collagen Type III Alpha 1 (COL3A1) on Postmenopausal Woman's Fibroblast

  • Trigonella foenum-graceum L. (fenugreek) is a phytoestrogen, a nonsteroidal organic chemical compound from plants which has similar mechanism of action to sex hormone estradiol-$17{\beta}$. This study aims to assess the effectivity of fenugreek seeds extract on collagen type I alpha 1 (COL1A1) and collagen type III alpha 1 (COL3A1) which are both decreased in aging skin and become worsen after menopause. This in vitro experimental study used old human dermal fibroblast from leftover tissue of blepharoplasty on a postmenopausal woman (old HDF). As a control of the fenugreek's ability to trigger collagen production, we used fibroblast from preputium (young HDF). Subsequent to fibroblast isolation and culture, toxicity test was conducted on both old and young HDF by measuring cell viability on fenugreek extract with the concentration of 5 mg/mL to $1.2{\mu}g/mL$ which will be tested on both HDF to examine COL1A1 and COL3A1 using ELISA, compared to no treatment and 5 nM estradiol. Old HDF showed a 4 times slower proliferation compared to young HDF (p<0.05). Toxicity test revealed fenugreek concentration of $0.5-2{\mu}g/mL$ was non-toxic to both old and young HDF. The most significant fenugreek concentration to increase COL1A1 and COL3A1 secretion was $2{\mu}g/mL$ (p<0.05).

Validation and Recommendation of Methods to Measure Biogas Production Potential of Animal Manure

  • In developing countries, biogas energy production is seen as a technology that can provide clean energy in poor regions and reduce pollution caused by animal manure. Laboratories in these countries have little access to advanced gas measuring equipment, which may limit research aimed at improving local adapted biogas production. They may also be unable to produce valid estimates of an international standard that can be used for articles published in international peer-reviewed science journals. This study tested and validated methods for measuring total biogas and methane ($CH_4$) production using batch fermentation and for characterizing the biomass. The biochemical methane potential (BMP) ($CH_4$ NL $kg^{-1}$ VS) of pig manure, cow manure and cellulose determined with the Moller and VDI methods was not significantly different in this test (p>0.05). The biodegradability using a ratio of BMP and theoretical BMP (TBMP) was slightly higher using the Hansen method, but differences were not significant. Degradation rate assessed by methane formation rate showed wide variation within the batch method tested. The first-order kinetics constant k for the cumulative methane production curve was highest when two animal manures were fermented using the VDI 4630 method, indicating that this method was able to reach steady conditions in a shorter time, reducing fermentation duration. In precision tests, the repeatability of the relative standard deviation (RSDr) for all batch methods was very low (4.8 to 8.1%), while the reproducibility of the relative standard deviation (RSDR) varied widely, from 7.3 to 19.8%. In determination of biomethane concentration, the values obtained using the liquid replacement method (LRM) were comparable to those obtained using gas chromatography (GC). This indicates that the LRM method could be used to determine biomethane concentration in biogas in laboratories with limited access to GC.

인증표준물질(CRM)을 이용한 방사면역측정법의 회수율 평가 (The Evaluation of Recovery Rate of Radioimmunoassay Using Certified Reference Material (CRM))

  • 공인된 기구에 의해 발급된 문서를 동반하는 인증표준물질은 특성값과 추정값의 신뢰정도를 나타내는 연계 불확도, 그리고 측정한 결과가 명시된 불확정 정도의 범위 내에서 국가 측정 또는 국제측정표준에 일치되도록 연속적으로 비교하고 교정하는 소급성을 제공하는 표준물질이다. 회수율 검사는 검체를 측정하여 얻은 값이 참값에서 얼마만큼 벗어났는지의 차이를 말하며 키트의 정확도를 반영한다. 이러한 인증표준물질을 가지고 회수율 검사를 하는 것은 체외 방사면역진단키트의 정확성을 보여주며 이러한 평가는 매우 중요하다. 인증표준물질은 NIBSC (National Institute for biological standard and control, United Kingdom)와 IRMM (Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements, Belgium)에서 구입하였고 검사 종목은 T4, Ferritin, PSA, Prolactin, AFP 그리고 TSH으로 총 6종목이다. T4는 IRMM의 표준물질을 사용하였고 나머지 종목은 NIBSC의 표준물질을 사용하였다. C-1 (저농도), C-2 (중농도), C-3 (고농도) 3 level로 제조하여 본원에서 사용하는 키트를 이용하여 4회 측정하였다. WHO 인증표준물질을 이용한 회수율 측정에서 T4 90%, Ferritin 88%, PSA 94%, Prolactin 99%, AFP 94%, TSH 93%였다. 6개 종목의 회수율 측정에서 88-99%로 양호한 결과를 보였다. 핵의학 체외진단키트의 정확성을 높이기 위해서 이 연구가 다른 검사실의 키트로 확장되어 검사가 되어야 하고 검사실간에도 교류가 필요하다. 인증표준물질을 이용한 체외진단키트의 회수율 평가가 앞으로도 지속되어야 하며 결과의 정확성은 환자의 만족의 증가로 이어질 것으로 기대한다.

TDR(Time Domain Reflectometry)를 이용한 비포화 토양에서 천이상태의 오염원 이송확산 특성에 관한 연구 : (2) 적용 (Study on Characteristics of Transient Soulte Transport in the Vadose Zone by Using TDR: (2) Application)

  • 본 연구에서는 천이상태의 비포화 오염원 이송확산 특성을 분석하기 위하여 토양의 물리, 화확적 특성을 알고 있는 두 종류의 현장토양(SUS,KUS)을 이용하여 1차원 실내실험을 수행하였는데, 천이상태의 토양내 함수량과 오염원의 농도를 측정하기 위하여 본 연구에서 개발한 TDR을 이용한 농도측정법을 이용하였으며, 질량평형을 이용하여 측정방법의 정도도 분석하였다. 실험결과에 의하면 급격한 습윤전선의 전진에 따른 종형의 함수량 변화를 관측할 수 있었고, 이때 오염원의 이송확산은 습윤전선을 추월하지 않으면서 농도 천이구간의 중심점으로부터 전방영역의 농도분포가 습윤전선에서의 함수량 분포와 유사한 종형을 이루고 있음을 관측할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 측정법을 적용한 결과 함수량이 0.15이상일 경우 매우 좋은 결과를 보였으며, 측정오차를 검토한 결과 10%이하의 오차율을 보였다. 따라서 본 논문에서 개발된 천이상태의 오염원 농도 측정법은 기존의 방법에 비하여 정확하고 적용이 용이한 측정방법으로 판단된다. 수치모형 HYDRUS를 수행한 수치결과와 실험결과를 비교하였는데, 비포화 흐름특성은 실험결과와 수치결과가 일치하고 있으나, 오염원 이송확산 특성은 수치결과가 실험결과를 더 많이 확산되는 경향을 보였다. 따라서 수치모형을 현장에 적용할 경우 수치모형에 적용할 확산지수는 BTC 실험을 통하여 측정한 확산지수, 수차확산, 흡착계수, 적용영역의 크기 등을 고려하여 결정하여야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Evaluation and Optimization of a Serum-based Minimum Inhibitory Concentration Assay to Caspofungin in Candida albicans Clinical Isolates

  • In the present study, a serum-based minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) testing to caspofungin was optimized and evaluated to solve the limitations of the conventional Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guideline-based antifungal agent MIC test and the usefulness of this testing for clinical application was determined. A total of 105 Candida albicans clinical isolates were used for measuring MIC to caspofungin. Results showed that growth characteristics were different according to types of serum and the mouse serum was the most suitable for this assay. In order to measure the optimal concentration of mouse serum, 0 to 100% mouse serum were added to the media during fungal culture. The optimal concentration of serum was 50% when consideration of antifungal agent administration and inoculum size, serum components and ease of hyphae separated, and the consideration of the degree of growth. In comparison of the usefulness between the conventional Alamar-modified broth microdilution MIC assay and 50% mouse serum-based MIC testing, the range of $MIC_{80}$ of the Alamar-modified broth microdilution MIC assay was $0.13{\sim}2.0{\mu}g/mL$ (SD ${\pm}0.42{\mu}g/mL$) and that of the 50% mouse serum-based MIC assay was $2.0{\sim}32.0{\mu}g/mL$ (SD ${\pm}9.01{\mu}g/mL$). The range of $MIC_{50}$ of the Alamar-modified broth microdilution MIC assay was $0.13{\sim}2.0{\mu}g/mL$ (SD ${\pm}0.40{\mu}g/mL$) and that of the 50% mouse serum-based MIC assay was $1.0{\sim}16.0{\mu}g/mL$ (SD ${\pm}2.36{\mu}g/mL$). The MICs of 50% mouse serum-based MIC testing was increased by up to 4 to 64 times than Alamar-modified broth microdilution MIC assay. In conclusion, a 50% mouse serum-based MIC assay was more useful for measuring MIC in Candida albicans clinical isolates than conventional colorimetric broth microdilution MIC testing.

비뉴턴 유체를 이용한 스마트 과속방지턱 소재 개발 (Development of Smart Speed Bump Using Non-newtonian Fluid)

  • 본 연구에서는 저가 재료인 전분과 물 기반의 현탁액을 이용하여 과속방지턱에 응용 가능한 스마트 소재를 개발하고 물성을 평가하였다. 유변물성측정기를 이용하여 전단율에 따른 점도 및 전단력을 측정하여 전분 농도별 전단농화 발생 현상을 확인하였다. 물체의 낙하 시험과 5-25 km/h의 주행 속도로 충격 후 진동을 측정한 자전거 주행 시험을 통해 거시적인 전단농화현상을 확인하였고, 과속방지턱의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다. 점도 측정 결과, 초기에 전단담화 구간에 이어 전단농화가 발생하였고, 전단농화 현상을 유발하는 임계 변형률은 농도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 또한 전분 농도 증가에 따라 점도와 전단력이 크게 증가하였다. 낙하시험과 자전거 주행시험 결과 현탁액이 단시간에 고체 상태로 바뀌었고 충격 에너지가 유체에 흡수되었다. 유체의 농도와 가하는 충격(속도)이 증가할수록 전단농화현상이 쉽게 발생하였다. 최종적으로 물과 전분 기반의 비뉴턴 유체로 5-25 km/h 범위에서 구동하는 스마트 과속방지턱 재료의 개발을 제안하였다.
