In mold machining, there are many concave machining regions where chatter and tool deflection occur since MRR (material removal rate) increases as curvature increases even though cutting speed and depth of cut are constant. Boolean operation between stock and tool model is widely used to compute MRR in NC milling simulation. In finish cutting, the side step is reduced to about 0.3mm and tool path length is sometimes over 300m. so Boolean operation takes long computation time and includes much error if the resolution of stock and tool model is larger than the side step. In this paper, curvature of CL(cutter location) surface and side step of tool path is used to compute the feedrate for constant MRR machining. The data structure of CL surface is Z-map generated from NC tool path. The algorithm to get local curvature from discrete data was developed and applied to compute local curvature of CL surface. The side step of tool path was computed by point density map which includes cutter location point density at each grid element. The feedrate computed from curvature and side step is inserted to new tool path to regulate MRR. The resultants wire applied to feedrate optimization system which generates new tool path with feedrate from NC codes for finish cutting. The system was applied to speaker mold machining. The finishing time was reduced to 12.6%. tool wear was reduced from 2mm to 1.1mm and chatter marks and over cut on corner were removed.

The electrical properties and surface morphology changes of a silicon wafer as a function of the HF concentration as the wafer is etched were studied. The HF concentrations were 28, 30, 32, 34, and 36 wt%. The surface morphology changes of the silicon wafer were measured by an SEM ($80^{\circ}$ tilted at ${\times}200$) and the resistivity was measured by assessing the surface resistance using a four-point probe method. The etching rate increased as the HF concentration increased. The maximum etching rate 27.31 ${\mu}m/min$ was achieved at an HF concentration of 36 wt%. A concave wave formed on the wafer after the wet etching process. The size of the wave was largest and the resistivity reached 7.54 $ohm{\cdot}cm$ at an 30 wt% of HF concentration. At an HF concentration of 30 wt%, therefore, a silicon wafer should have good joining strength with a metal backing as well as good electrical properties.
The surface ultrastructure of Acanthotrema felis (Trematoda: Heterophyidae) adults, recovered from a kitten experimentally infected with the metacercariae, was observed using a scanning electron microscope. The worm was leaf-like, ventrally concave and covered with scale-like multi-pointed tegumental spines. The spines on the anterior surface were short but broad, and had 10-12 pointed tips. The cytoplasmic processes protruded around the spines, like pockets for the spines. The ventrogenital opening was crescent, or kidney-shaped, and had protuberances with minute spines on its surrounding tegument. The spines on the posterior surface were long, but narrow, with 6-8 pointed tips. The cytoplasmic processes on this tegument were ridge-like, and elevated along the row of the spines. The surface ultrastructure of A. felis is generally similar to that of other heterophyid flukes, but some features are characteristic, and may be of taxonomic and bio-ecological significance.

This study focused on how it affects the surface roughness of work piece in cutting SCM415 steel, widely used steel in industry, by TiCN and TiN tools. Following conclusion was drawn from several experiments. The surface roughness of heat treated workpiece was better than that of non heat-treated materials. Moreover, the roughness of surface roughness(Ra 0.25) on feeding rate of 0.05 was better when it was in wet process, rather than dry process. As the feeding rate increases, TiCN coating tool shows better roughness of surface than TiN tool. Also, in heated treatment, TiCN coating tool shows the least straightness dimension deviation at feeding rate of 0.05, 0.15mm/rev, and concave-like R shape appears by the feeding rate orders of 0.05, 0.15, 0.1, 0.125 and 0.075mm/rev.

Tool-chip adhesion impacts on cutting performance significantly, especially in finish cutting process. To promote cutting tools' anti-adhesion property, the concave micro-grooves texture (MGT) and convex volcano-like texture (VLT) were fabricated separately on lathe tools' rake faces by laser surface texturing (LST). Various orientations of MGT and different area densities (9% and 48%) and regions (partial and full) of VLT were considered in textured patterns designing. The following orthogonal cutting experiments, machining of aluminum alloy 5038, analyzed tools' performances including cutting force, cutting stability, chip shape, rake face adhesion and abrasion. It indicated that under dry finish cutting conditions, MGT contributed to cutting stability and low cutting forces, meanwhile friction and normal force reduced by around 15% and 10%, respectively with a weak correlation to the grooves' orientation. High density VLT tools, on the other hand, presented an obvious anti-adhesion property. A $5{\mu}m$ reduction of crater wear's depth can be observed on textured rake faces after long length cutting and textured rake faces presented half size of BUE regions comparing to the flat tool, however, once the texture morphologies were filled or worn, the anti-adhesion effect could be invalid. The bearing ratio curve was employed to analysis tool-chip contact and durability of textured surfaces contributing to a better understanding of anti-adhesion and enhanced durability of the textured tools.
In general, a lens with large NA makes image quality better. There are many kinds of cheap concave mirrors with large aperture and NA. This paper presents a method that uses a large aperture projection imaging system to enhance the image used for 3D shape measurement. This method makes it possible to enhance reflection uniformity on the object surface and increases SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). Using a large aperture lens, it is possible to obtain a brighter image, reducing the shading nature in the image boundary, and enhancing the reflection uniformity even on woven surfaces. Because of the exorbitant cost of a large aperture projection lens larger than 150 mm in diameter, a refractive lens was exchanged with a concave mirror resulting in the same optical effect. In experiment, changing NA $0.15{\sim}0.8$, image contrast was enhanced from 46 to 1.33. Incidentally, the effect of the concave mirror was tested successfully through the experiment.

In this study, we fabricated and characterized a nanostructured surface based on a plastic injection molding with a local mold heating (LMH) system. A metal mold core with a closed packed nano convex array (CVA) was achieved by integrated engineering procedures: (1) master template fabrication by anodic aluminum oxidation (AAO), (2) nickel electroforming (NE) process, and (3) post-processing by precision machining. The nickel mold core was utilized to replicate a surface with a closed packed nano concave-array (CCA) based on injection molding using cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) as a plastic material. In particular, an LMH system was introduced to enhance transcription quality of the nano structures by delaying solidification of molten polymer near the surface of the mold core.

AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxidation) method has been known that it is practically useful for the fabrication of nano-structures and makes it possible to fabricate the highly ordered nano masters on large surface and even on the 2.5 or 3D surface at low cost comparing to the expensive e-beam lithography or the conventional silicon processing. In this study, by using the multi-step anodizing and etching processes, highly ordered nano patterned master with concave shapes was fabricated. By varying the processing parameters, such as initial matter and chemical conditions; electrical and thermal conditions; time scheduling; and so on, the size and the pitch of the nano pattern can be controlled. Consequently, various alumina/aluminum nano structures can be easily available in any size and shape by optimized anodic oxidation in various aqueous acids. The resulting good filled uniform nano molded structure through hot embossing molding process shows the validity of the fabricated nano pattern masters.

A new concept of multi-point dieless elasto-forming method has been developed to make various shape of curved surface without conventional dies. The developed dieless elasto-forming system consists of discrete punches controlled by servo motors and various kinds of elastomers(rubber and foam). To predict optimal position of punch elements, DTF(deformation transfer function) was introduced, and FEM analysis was carried out. The optimal arrangement of elastomer was selected considering characteristics of each elastomer, and a desired concave shape was formed. The experimental results were consistent with the numerical ones.

Thermal emissivity of nuclear graphite was measured with its oxidation degree. Commercial nuclear graphites (IG-110, PECA, IG-430, and NBG-18) have been used as samples. Concave on graphites surface increased as its oxidation degree increased, and R value (Id/Ig) of the graphites decreased as the oxidation degree increased. The thermal emissivity increased depending on the decrease of the R (Id/Ig) value through Raman spectroscopy analysis. It was determined that the thermal emissivity was influenced by the crystallinity of the nuclear graphite.
