  • In this paper, we constructed the systematic management and standardization of computerized landfill bringing system in Ansung landfill facility. During the system design process and database construction, we considered the specific items in Ansung landfill facility. And, we systemized and conventionalized the basic core data so as to we apply to another landfill facilities. And, we tried to standardize the system using the exception logic for specific items. For this purpose, we developed the landfill bringing management system which can help to manage a landfill efficiently. Basically We made efforts to standardize it's system architecture but also we considered it's localization to adapt An-sung Landfill's special requirements. We used RFID and LPR systems to distinguish a garbage truck from the others, and could establish more reliable landfill management system with this information. We expect that we can perform the systematic and the efficient landfill Bringing using the automated process of bringing in and taking out the waste process based on the developed system by automated RFID/LPR system.

  • The Project of Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR) officially launched in Aug. 2010. JRTR is the first made-in-Korea nuclear system to be built abroad by year 2015, and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) is responsible for the design of major systems including the reactor core. While the PDCS (Project Document Control System) being operated by EPC company controls all the documents of the whole Project, KAERI is supposed to have its own system for KAERI documents. Meeting such a need; KAERI has implemented a document control for the JRTR Project into already existing ANSIM (KAERI Advanced Nuclear Safety Information Management) system. The documents of JRTR project to be controlled are defined in the PPM (Project Procedures Manual), QAP (Quality Assurance Procedure) and PEP (Project Execution Program). The ANSIM consists of the document management holder, document container holder and organization management holder. The document management holder, which is the most important part of ANSIM-JRTR, consists of the DDA (Document Distribution for Agreement), IOC (Inter-office Correspondence), PM Memo. (Project Manager Memorandum) and cover sheets of design documents. Other materials such as meeting minutes, sub-department materials and design information materials are stored in an independent COP (Community of Practice). This established computerized document control system, ANSIM, could lessen a burden for project management team and enhance the productivity as well.

  • Bibliographical Description for Revolutionary Historical Archives is created to describe records at the item level. It defines descriptive elements, punctuations, formats and methods. Descriptive elements are composed of 20 elements, each of which is either mandatory or optional. Mandatory elements are: repositories codes, documents codes, dates, creators, title, classification codes, and subject vocabularies. Abstracts were previously included in card cataloging and are removed in the computerized system. New elements, such as "uncontrolled vocabularies," "name of places," "personal names," "organizational structures" and "meetings," are added to allow keyword search. Considering that subject vocabulary searches are the most important in computerized systems, however, Guidelines for the Subject Indexing for Revolutionary Historical Archives as well as Subject Headings, as a result from the Guidelines, are created. The most extraordinary features in Chinese archival description are said to be the Guidelines for the Classification Indexing for Revolutionary Historical Archives and Materials as well as the Classification Scheme, both of which are created to allow subject search of records content. It is because Chinese practice of records management distinguishes the classification for arrangement from that for retrieval. Chinese archival description is, therefore, composed of bibliographic description rules, subject headings, and the classification scheme for retrieval.

  • The rapid impact assessment matrix (RIAM) might be a new tool for performance of an environmental impact assessment (EIA), comparing with many traditional methods of EIA, which have produced large reports setting out the subjective judgement reached by the assessors. The main criticisms of E1A are in part a natural result of the traditional method used. RIAM uses a structured matrix to allow for such judgement, both subjective and those based on quantitative data, to be made on a like-by-like basis, and provided a transparent and permanent record of the judgement made. Also, the computerized RIAM system using software program allows for the matrix to be shown in graphical form, which greatly enhances the clarity of the results produced by this method. RIAM provides a system by which development options and scenarios can be rapidly evaluated. To illustrate the use of RIAM, an example from an EIA study using application of scoping by assessment criteria in Environmental Impact Regulation of Korea was given. The criteria that might be used to evaluation EIA methods, and how RIAM measures up against these criteria, are discussed.

  • Development of digital main control rooms (MCRs) has greatly changed operating environments by altering operator tasks, and thus the unique characteristics of digital MCRs should be considered in terms of human reliability analysis. Digital MCR tasks can be divided into primary tasks that directly supply control input to the plant equipment, and secondary tasks that include interface management conducted via soft controls (SCs). Operator performance regarding these secondary tasks must be evaluated since such tasks did not exist in previous analog systems. In this paper, we analyzed SC-related tasks based on simulation data, and classified the error modes of the SCs following analysis of all operational tasks. Then, we defined the factors to be considered in human reliability analysis methods regarding the SCs; such factors are mainly related to interface management and computerized operator support systems. As these support systems function to reduce the number of secondary tasks required for SC, we conducted an assessment to evaluate the efficiency of one such support system. The results of this study may facilitate the development of training programs as well as help to optimize interface design to better reflect the interface management task characteristics of digitalized MCRs.

  • As the international-level concern has been focused on the environmental sustainability in recent years, many researches emphasized the needs for methods and techniques that would facilitate sustainability assessment at the various project level interfaces. As part of methods and techniques to facilitate sustainability assessment, this paper provides 'Computerized Waste Management Performance Evaluation Tool' for the purpose of assessing the level of management system in dealing with the onsite construction wastes. This tool applies twenty-three waste management performance factors for the purpose of evaluating the level of waste management performance by scoring those factors which were identified in the previous research. These twenty-three factors are classified into four categories: manpower, material, method, and management based on their characteristics. In order to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of waste management performance, the levels of actions executed in a site by each waste management performance factor were identified and their weight were analyzed throughout the expert interview and survey. Furthermore, an excel-based computerized tool was developed in order to facilitate the evaluation process. If this tool can be developed in more detail and be used as the method to control waste management at a project level for the future, it is expected that this tool can play an important role in the body of knowledge of environmental management in construction industry.

  • Each equipment has a durable life. The state of the equipment may change or fail until it is introduced, operated and disposed of. It is difficult for each organization to have a significant amount of these equipment and to understand each issue. Therefore, systematic life cycle management of equipment is more necessary than just for inventory purposes. In this paper, we design and implement an integrated management system for information assets. If it is an environment that can use the Internet based on the web, it can easily and easily access computerized information resource data through PCs, tablets, and smartphones. In addition, an integrated management system was established to limit the functions of higher and lower institutions through centralized management and user-level empowerment methods and to understand the overall status of resources.
