An efficient aggregation scheme for full mesh topology (풀메쉬 토폴로지를 위한 효율적 aggregation 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient full mesh topology aggregation method in PNNI networks. The proposed scheme can search multi-links efficiently using the depth priority method based on hop count instead of searching the all links. To evaluate performance of the proposed scheme, we compare/analyze the current method with the proposed scheme with respect to call success rate, access time and crankback rate. The result is that the proposed scheme is better than the current scheme in performance.

  • In this paper, We propose a new parallel computer topology, called the Postorder Fibonacci Circulants and analyze its properties. It is compared with Fibonacci cubes, when its number of nodes is kept the same of comparable one. Its diameter is improved from n-2 to $[\frac{n}{3}]$ and its topology is changed from asymmetric to symmetric. It includes Fibonacci cube as a spanning graph.

  • In this paper, the household AC power line network is characterized for the low bit rate power line communication (PLC) in the frequency range from 10kHz to 450kHz. Various types of electric apparatus and the power lines constitute the network topology, and the PLC channel transfer function and the channel impedance are derived based on the constructed network topology. The channel characteristics derived with the lumped circuit model and the distributed circuit model are compared using the computer simulations. The effect of the wave reflection and signal distortions are also investigated.

  • A simple octree encoding algorithm based on a tetrahedron root has been developed to be used for fully automatic generation of three dimensional finite element meshes. This algorithm starts octree decomposition from a tetrahedron root node instead of a hexahedron root node so that the terminal mode has the same topology as the final tetrahedral mesh. As a result, the terminal octant can be used as a tetrahedral finite element without transforming its topology. In this part(I) of the thesis, an efficient algorithm for the tetrahedron-based octree is proposed. For this development, the following problems have been solved, : (1) an efficient data structure for storing the octree and finite elements, (2) an encoding scheme of a tetrahedral octree, (3) a neighbor finding technique for the tetrahedron-based octree.

  • This letter presents a new approach to synthesize the resonator filters of an arbitrary topology. This method employs an optimization method based on the relation between the polynomial coefficients of the transfer function and those of the $S_{21}$ from the coupling matrix. Therefore, this new method can also be applied to self-equalized filters that were not considered in the conventional optimization methods. Two microwave filters, a symmetric 4-pole filter with four transmission zeros (TZs) and an asymmetric 8-pole filter with seven TZs, are synthesized using the present method for validation. Excellent agreement between the response of the transfer function and that of the synthesized $S_{21}$ from the coupling matrix is shown.

Shape Optimization of a Thomson Coil Actuator for Fast Response Using Topology Modification

  • The shape optimization of a Thomson coil actuator used in an arc eliminator is done for fast response by adopting topology modification method. The displacement of the plate in a fixed calculation time is taken as the objective function. The objective function and contribution factor are calculated by using an adaptive equivalent circuit method which has been proved accurate and efficient. Both shape optimization and performance analysis are accomplished based on the segmentation of plate. Through the refinement of the sensitive segments a precise optimal plate shape can be obtained. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by the comparison of results before and after the shape optimization.

Novel Zero-Voltage-Switching Bridgeless PFC Converter

  • In this paper, a new zero-voltage-switching, high power-factor, bridgeless rectifier is introduced. In this topology, an auxiliary circuit provides soft switching for all of the power semiconductor devices. Thus the switching losses are reduced and the highest efficiency can be achieved. The proposed converter has been analyzed and a design procedure has been introduced. The control circuit for the converter has also been developed. Based on the given approach, a 250 W, 400 Vdc prototype converters has been designed at 100 kHz for universal input voltage (90-264 Vrms) applications. A maximum efficiency of 94.6% and a power factor correction over 0.99 has been achieved. The simulation and experimental results confirm the design procedure and highlight the advantages of the proposed topology.

  • 네트워크 거리 (Network distance : 일반적으로 ping이나 traceroute 등으로 측정 가능한 round trip time 등 네트워크 상에서 패킷 전송 시간) 추정 기법은 인터넷상의 많은 응용프로그램들에서 유용하게 사용된다. 예를 들면 다수의 서버를 인터넷상에 설치하고자 하는 경우 사용자들 간의 네트워크 거리를 알고 있다면 서버와 사용자간의 왕복 전송 시간 (Round Trip Time)등을 최소화할 수 있도록 서버를 분산하여 설치하는 구성을 도출해 낼 수 있을 것이다. Peer to Peer 응용 프로그램들에서도 이 네트워크 거리 정보는 매우 유용하다. 기존에 존재하는 추정 기법들은 대부분 유클리드 공간 좌표 기반 기법들로서 유클리드 좌표 상의 거리가 실제 네트워크 거리와 유사하도록 유클리드 공간 좌표를 지정한다. 그러나 이런 방법들의 문제점은 인터넷 상의 네트워크 거리가 삼각 부등식을 만족하지 않는 경우가 존재하는 등 유클리드 공간의 기본적인 가정을 만족하지 못한다는데 있다. 이런 문제점 때문에 새로운 모델이 필요하고, 이 논문에서는 가상 토폴로지(Virtual Topology) 모델과 지역 조정 항 (Local Adjustment Term) 모델을 제시하고, 기본적인 성능 분석을 시도하였다.

Single-Phase Step-Up Five-Level Inverter with Phase-Shifted Pulse Width Modulation

  • A single-phase step-up five-level inverter topology with a new phase-shifted pulse width modulation (PS-PWM) strategy is proposed in this paper. When compared with conventional single-phase five-level inverter topologies, the proposed topology can realize multilevel inversion with a double step-up ratio, a reduced number of switching devices and self-balanced capacitor voltages. When compared with the conventional PS-PWM strategy, the new PS-PWM strategy can be implemented with one carrier reduced, which makes it much easier to implement in a digital signal processor (DSP) system. Experimental results have been presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed inverter and the PS-PWM strategy.
