  • For a robotic workcell, which consists of multiple robots, several interconnection methods are presented in terms of the processor based architecture. Since few attempts have been made to formulate and analyze multiple robot system(MRS), we turn the knowledge of multiple processor system(MPS) or multiple computer system(MCS) to good account. The performance evaluation is achieved through queueing analysis, the aim being to compare their response time, utilization, probability of service failure under different workload. To verify the validity of the proposed analysis methods, a computer simulation is performed. The results together with comments presented here give some useful guidelines for the selection of an appropriate interconnection method.

An Iterative Analysis of Single-Hop B-MAC Networks Under Poisson Traffic

  • The Berkeley-medium access control (B-MAC) is a lightweight, configurable and asynchronous duty cycle medium access control (MAC) protocol in wireless sensor networks. This article presents an analytic modelling of single-hop B-MAC protocol under a Poisson traffic assumption.Our model considers important B-MAC parameters such as the sleep cycle, the two stage backoff mechanism, and the extended preamble. The service delay of an arriving packet and the energy consumption are calculated by an iterative method. The simulation results verify that the proposed analytic model can accurately estimate the performance of single-hop B-MAC with different operating environments.

중성빔 입사장치에서 빔형성 구조의 입자모사 모형 (Particle Simulation Modelling of a Beam Forming Structure in Negative-Ion-Based Neutral Beam Injector)

  • 중성입자입사 장치의 효율적인 빔형성 구조를 목적으로 정전기장 내에서 하전 입자의 움직임을 시간의 흐름에 따라 계산해 볼 수 있는 프로그램을 만들어 입자 모사 모형을 찾았다. 가속관 내의 입자의 움직임은 일정 시간 간격으로 계산하였고 전위는 유한차분법에 의해 Poisson 방정식에서 구하였다. 행렬식은 반복해법인 successive overrelaxation법을 사용하였고 전하밀도와 임자에 미치는 전기장의 힘을 구할 때는 cloud-in-cell모델을 사용하였다. 이 전자계산 코드를 사용하여 가속관 내 전극의 여러 조건들을 변화시켜가면서 빔형성 구조의 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 중성자 입사 장치의 가속관에서 가속 감속-전극간의 간격변화, 감속전극의 두께 변화, 가속 전극의 형태변화 등을 통하여 이들이 빔의 모양에 끼치는 영향을 조사하여 몇 가지 경우에 있어서 일정한 시간 간격으로 나타나는 입자들의 움직임을 예시하였다. 이 입자 모사모형을 통하여 가속전극의 형태가 빔 퍼짐에 가장 주요한 역할을 하는 것을 알았다.

Good modeling practice of water treatment processes

  • Models for water treatment processes include simulation, i.e., modelling of water quality, flow hydraulics, process controls and design. Water treatment processes are inherently dynamic because of the large variations in the influent water flow rate, concentration and composition. Moreover, these variations are to a large extent not possible to control. Mathematical models and computer simulations are essential to describe, predict and control the complicated interactions of the water treatment processes. An accurate description of such systems can therefore result in highly complex models, which may not be very useful from a practical, operational point of view. The main objective is to combine knowledge of the process dynamics with mathematical methods for processes estimation and identification. Good modelling practice is way to obtain this objective and to improve water treatment processes(its understanding, design, control and performance- efficiency). By synthesize of existing knowledge and experience on good modelling practices and principles the aim is to help address the critical strategic gaps and weaknessesin water treatment models application.

  • BiCMOS is the newly developed technology that integrates both CMOS and bipolar structures on the same integrated circuit. Improved performance can be obtained from combining the advantages of high density and low power in CMOS with the speed and current capibility advantages by bipolar. However, the major drawbacks to BiCMOS are high cost, long fabrication time and difficulty of merging CMOS with bipolar without degrading of device Performance because CMOS and bipolar share same process step. In this paper, N-Well CMOS oriented BiCMOS process and optimization of device performance are studied when N-Well links CMOS with bipolar process step by 2D process and 3D Device simulation. From the simulation, Constriction of linking process step has been understood and provided to give the method of choosing BiCMOS for various analog design request.

GMDH 알고리즘을 이용한 모델링 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study onthe Modelling and control Using GMDH Algorithm)

  • 신경 회로망의 출현으로 비선형 시스템 모델링에 대한 관힘이 다시 고조되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 미지의 비선형 시스템을 동적으로 인식하기 위해 GMDH(Group Method of Data Handling) 일고리즘을 사용한 DPNN(Dynamic Polynomial Neural Network)을 제안한다. GMDH를 사용한 동적 시스템의 인신은 일렬의 입/출력 데이타를 인가하여 필요한 계수들의 집합을 동적으로 산출함으로써 훈련시킨다. 또한 DPNN을 이용하여 비선형 시스템을 제어하기 위해, MRA(Model Reference Adaptive Control)를 설계한다. 결과에서 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 DPNN을 사용한 모델링과 제어가 잘 수행됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper proposes a new fuzzy controller using variable structure control theory. In this paper, after the time-varying fuzzy sliding surface is designed, the fuzzy rules are defined based on the variable structure control theory. This design method makes the fuzzy controller design more structured and can guarantee the stability and robustness of the fuzzy controller and overcome the shortcoming of the variable structure system. Through computer simulation and experiment of nonlinear inverted pendulum system, this thesis demonstrate that system has the robustness against disturbance and modelling error, and the tracking performance of it is improved.

  • There are many kinds of drift source in angular velocity feedback stabilization system. We discussed and analyzed the source of drift, and suggest the drift compensation method for null drift system. In this paper, the performance of drift compensators is tested and proved by real 2 axis mirror stabilization system and computer simulation.

  • This paper presents WMR modelling and path tracking algorithm using Inertial Navigation System. The error models of gyroscope and accelerometers in INS are derived by Gauss-Newton method which is nonlinear regression model. Then, to test availability of error model, we pursue the fitness diagnosis about probability characteristic for real data and estimated data. Performance of inertial sensor with error model and Kalman filter is pursued by comparing with one without them. The computer simulation shows that position error remarkably decrease when error compensation is applied.

  • In this paper a pH process of a weak acid with a strong base is modeled into a bilinear form, and a self-tuning pH control algorithm which is robust against initial values of solution and disturbances is presented. The control algorithm employs the recursive least square method for the parameter estimation and the generalised minimum variance criterion as the objective function. The computer simulation shows that the tracking of desired pH values is obtained in satisfactory manner regardless of the initial values chosen for the process.
