Development of a Power Plant Simulation Tool with GUI based on General Purpose Design Software

  • A power plant simulation tool ('PowerSim') has been developed with 10 years experience from the development of a plant simulator for efficient modeling of a power plant. PowerSim is the first developed tool in Korea for plant simulation with various plant component models, instructor station function and the Graphic Model Builder (GMB). PowerSim is composed of a graphic editor using general purpose design software, a netlist converter, component models, the scheduler, Instructor Station and an executive. The graphic editor generates a netlist that shows the connection status of the various plant components from the Simdiagram, which is drawn by Icon Drag method supported by GUI environment of the PowerSim. Netlist Converter normalizes the connection status of the components. Scheduler makes scheduling for the execution of the device models according to the netlist. Therefore, the user makes Simdiagram based on the plant Pipe and Instrument Drawing (P&ID) and inputs the plant data for automatic simulating execution. This paper introduces Graphic Model Builder (GMB), instructor station, executive and the detailed introduction of thermal-hydraulic modeling. This paper will also introduce basic ideas on how the simulation Diagram, based on netlist generated from general purpose design software, is made and how the system is organized. The developed tool has been verified through the simulation of a real power plant.

Computer Simulation of Ink Transfer in the Different Printing Speed and Ink Viscosity in the Screen Printing (스크린 인쇄에서 인쇄 속도와 잉크 점도에 따른 잉크 전이 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • As screen printing is changed by automation recently, could print more exactly. However, must suffer great many trial and error to have still gotten perfect result. By the way, at this step, fair time and money should be invested. Therefore, if search for optimum condition in early time visualizing screen printing process using simulator program before progress printing, is judged that may be correct and gets printing result efficiently. In this paper, searched optimum printing speed and ink viscosity using FLOW-3D program. Also, the result could confirm truth that is agreeing almost with experiment contents. Through this, is thought that may expect extension of screen printing wide application that vivify advantage of screen print if use simulation program.

  • 프로세서 설계 기술의 발달로 인해 그래픽 프로세서 또한 기술적으로 크게 발전하였다. 그래픽 프로세서는 단순한 그래픽 표현장치에서 대용량의 데이터를 병렬로 처리하는 고성능 장치로 변화하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 그래픽 프로세서는 대용량의 데이터처리가 가능한 병렬 프로세서로 특화되어 있기 때문에 이를 활용하여 CPU의 작업을 보조하며 빠른 연산 수행을 가능하게 한다. 이로 인해, 최신의 고성능 시스템 설계에서 그래픽 프로세서는 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 그래픽 프로세서를 활용하는 고성능의 시스템을 설계하기 위해서는 발열과 소비 전력을 고려해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 그래픽 프로세서의 온도를 제어하는 냉각팬의 세기를 조절하여 그에 따른 온도와 소비 전력을 분석한다. 실험 결과 냉각팬 세기가 낮은 경우 그래픽 프로세서의 온도는 $100^{\circ}C$까지 급격히 상승한다. 냉각팬 세기가 높은 경우 그래픽 프로세서의 온도는 천천히 증가하여 일정 온도에 수렴함을 알 수 있다. 또한, 그래픽 프로세서의 소비 전력은 작업량을 할당하지 않았을 때보다 최대작업량을 할당하였을 때 냉각팬 세기에 따른 소비전력 차이가 큼을 알 수 있다.

A Method of Graphic Representation of Mathematical Sentences for Game Generation (게임세대를 위한 수학문장의 그래픽 표현방법)

  • The information represented by graphic is preferred more than by text to the game generation familiar to computer games in the cognitive style. The learning to solve the math problems represented by graphic is significantly effective to improve learner's problem-solving power in math education. In this paper, we proposed a method of graphic representation of mathematical sentences for effective learning of the game generation. The proposed method arranges the unit informations in the logical structure and represent the logical interrelation between the informations by symbols, line segments, or arrows using the graphic elements with good visibility for the game generation to recognize easily and to understand accurately the logical meaning. The proposed method is able to represent accurately the math sentences until the detail level that appears the tense and the voice of the sentences differently from the previous graphic representation method's ability. The proposed method could be used as learning tools and used widely to represent graphically mathematical informations for the instructional scaffolding of an educational game in oder that the game generation could learn effectively.

  • To process computer graphics in real time, the high-speed operations(multiplier and adder) are needed to increase the speed of graphic process. RNS(Residue Number System) is integer number system that has the parallel and high-speed operation. Also, it is able to design both high-speed multiplier and adder, since a cyclic group has an isomorphic relation between multiplication and addition in RNS. So in this paper, DRNS(Double Residue Number System) is proposed, it is used for the multiplier and the adder, which are designed using a circulative code for the high-speed graphic processor in RNS. The designed multiplier would operate with the speed of 87Mzz two TTL using 74s09 and 74s32.

  • This study could begin with the improvement of computer graphic technology The graphic technology is the standards of computer technology level and up-to-date technology intensive. Above all, the technology of virtual reality has developed rapidly and the development of the program has changed from professional one only for the experts to easy of access ones for the space designers. Moreover, the program which major internet user's can experience the virtual model has been made, as the development of virtual reality technology that is based on the web. These graphic technology and the development of the web helped to extract human experiences on the space design step. However, to find the meeting point with real recognition is not easy though the virtual reality technology develops. Because the real space is made up of various senses that people feel in their surroundings. But, this study was possible because most of the space recognition is based on the visual organ, even though it can't satisfy all sensible factors that we feel in reality. Therefore, the significant of this study is the standards and criteria of evaluation, the technological proposal, expecting to make more advanced alternative design than before.

  • This research aims at developing a single chip multiprocessor for high-performance computer system. Our design approach is to design a relatively small and simple processor unit and to integrate multiple copies of the unit in an efficient way. The proposed multiprocessor is composed of four CPUs and one graphic coprocessor. The four CPUs share the graphic coprocessor and each CPU implements the 64-bit SPARC-V9 instruction set architecture. This paper gives an overview of the proposed microarchitecture and discusses the considerations made in the course of the design.

  • In the last decade, digital image processing technics have been rapidly developed according to the advancement of electronic technique, and total scanner and DTP system were developed. Specially, there is need to retouch the color and image on the CRT. In this paper, we described a method to display surface color of printing on the CRT, and an algorithm to simulate the color reproduction by offset printing. The experimental results show that the described method and algorithm are useful and valid on the computer simulation of the multi-color printing adapted process ink characteristics.

  • 본 논문에서는 연속 공정자동화를 위한 시스템 제어장치 중 공정의 제반운영 및 제어상태를 감시하기 위하여 공정상태를 나타내는 여러가지의 data를 그래픽 모니터상에 graphics로 표시해 주는 User Interface System인 Operator Terminal의 설계 및 구현을 다룬다. 이를 위하여 Operator Terminal은 출력장치로 VGA board와 color monitor, 입력장치로는 mouse와 function keyboard, 통신을 위한 RS232C serial port를 갖는 IBM-PC AT급의 mother board로 구성된다. 또한 program 저장은 상위 computer의 HDD를 이용한다. 그래픽 편집 및 모니터링을 위한 software는 한글 MS Windows 환경에서 구현한다.

Implementing Efficient Camera ISP Filters on GPGPUs Using OpenCL (GPGPU 기반의 효율적인 카메라 ISP 구현)

  • General Purpose Graphic Processing Unit (GPGPU) computing is a technique that utilizes the high-performance many-core processors of high-end graphic cards for general-purpose computations such as 3D graphics, video/image processing, computer vision, scientific computing, HPC and many more. GPGPUs offer a vast amount of raw computing power, but programming is extremely challenging because of hardware idiosyncrasies. The open computing language (OpenCL) has been proposed as a vendor-independent GPGPU programming interface. OpenCL is very close to the hardware and thus does little to increase GPGPU programmability. In this paper we present how a set of digital camera image signal processing (ISP) filters can be realized efficiently on GPGPUs using OpenCL. Although we found ISP filters to be memory-bound computations, our GPGPU implementations achieve speedups of up to a factor of 64.8 over their sequential counterparts. On GPGPUs, our proposed optimizations achieved speedups between 145% and 275% over their baseline GPGPU implementations. Our experiments have been conducted on a Geforce GTX 275; because of OpenCL we expect our optimizations to be applicable to other architectures as well.
