Network solutions for protecting against worm attacks that complement partial end system patch deployment is a pressing problem. In the content-based worm filtering, the challenges focus on the detection accuracy and its performance enhancement problem. We present a worm filter architecture using the bloom filter for deployment at high-speed transit points on the Internet, including firewalls and gateways. Content-based packet filtering at multi-gigabit line rates, in general, is a challenging problem due to the signature explosion problem that curtails performance. We show that for worm malware, in particular, buffer overflow worms which comprise a large segment of recent outbreaks, scalable -- accurate, cut-through, and extensible -- filtering performance is feasible. We demonstrate the efficacy of the design by implementing it on an Intel IXP network processor platform with gigabit interfaces. We benchmark the worm filter network appliance on a suite of current/past worms, showing multi-gigabit line speed filtering prowess with minimal footprint on end-to-end network performance.

It is urgent in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that students become creative and integrative thinkers. In this vein, in the last few years, drawing upon constructivism as an innovative learning paradigm, new coding curricula using MIT's Scratch have been introduced in the number of countries to enhance computational thinking (CT). However, constructivism encouraging collaborative and active learning may not be explicitly utilized in instructional design focusing mainly on learning to code as technical skills - some of which exist today in large numbers of school and after-school code activities. To respond to such a misleading way of developing CT through coding, the present study aims to propose the benefits of CT self-assessment rubrics for primary pre-service teachers within a CT course entitled "Problem Solving by Computational Thinking". Our findings show how meaningful collaborative CT self-assessment in a group impacts their learning of CT. We end this paper with the discussion of implications of our findings for CT assessment towards a new paradigm in education.

High-capacity, high-definition image applications need to process considerable amounts of data at high speed. Accordingly, users of these applications demand a high-speed parallel execution system. To increase the speed of a parallel execution system, Park (2004) proposed a technique, called MAMS (Multi-Access Memory System), to access data in several execution units without the conflict of parallel processing memories. Since then, many studies on MAMS have been conducted, furthering the technique to MAMS-PP16 and MAMS-PP64, among others. As a memory architecture for parallel processing, MAMS must be constructed in one chip; therefore, a method to achieve the identical functionality as the existing MAMS while minimizing the architecture needs to be studied. This study proposes a method of miniaturizing the MAMS architecture in which the architectures of the ACR (Address Calculation and Routing) circuit and MMS (Memory Module Selection) circuit, which deliver data in memories to parallel execution units (PEs), do not use the MMS circuit, but are constructed as one shift and conditional statements whose number is the same as that of memory modules inside the ACR circuit. To verify the performance of the realized architecture, the study conducted the processing time of the proposed MAMS-PP64 through an image correlation test, the results of which demonstrated that the ratio of the image correlation from the proposed architecture was improved by 1.05 on average.

A descriptive exploratory design was used in this study to evaluate the effects of sponge bathing on physiological(heart rate, heart period, vagal tone, oxygen saturation, respiration) and behavioral responses in newly born 40 preterm infants from intensive care unit of S University Hospital in Seoul. Data has been collected from October, 1997 to March, 1999. The infants were between 27-33 weeks gestational age at birth, and were free of congenital defects. The subjects entered the protocol when they were medically stable (determined by initiation of feeding and discontinuation of all respiratory support) but still receiving neonatal intensive care. The infants' physiologic parameters were recorded a 10 - minute before, during, and after bathing. Continuous heart rate data were recorded on a notebook computer from the infant's EKG monitor. The data were digitized off-line on software(developed by Lee and Chang in Wavelet program) which detected the peak of the R wave for each heart beat and quantified sequential R-R intervals in msec(i.e. heart periods). Heart period data were edited to remove movement artifact. Heart period data were quantified as : 1) mean heart period; 2) vagal tone. Vagal tone was quantitfied with a noninvasive measure developed by Porges(1985) in Mxedit software. To determine behavioral status, tools were developed by Scafidi et al(1990) were used. Collected data were analyzed with the SPSS program using paried t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. The result were as follow. 1. The results of the ANOVAs indicated that vagal tone were signifcantly lower during bathing than baseline and post-bathing. There were significant differences in heart period and heart rate levels across the bathing. But the mean oxygen saturations and respirations were no differences. Also, there were no significant differences on behavioral sign, motor activity, behavioral distress, weight changes, morbidity, and hospitalization period. 2. To evaluate the relation between vagal tone and subsequent parameters, the two groups (the high group had 19 subjects and low group had 21subjects) were divided by the mean baseline vagal tone. Vagal tone measured prior to bathing were significantly associated with respiration before bathing, vagal tone during bathing, and the magnitude of change in both vagal tone. But, other subsequent reactivities were no differences in two groups. 3. Correlations were also calculated between vagal tone and the subsequent physiological reactivities from baseline through after- bathing. Correlations were significant between baseline vagal tone and baseline heart rate, between baseline vagal tone and baseline heart period, between baseline vagal tone and oxygen saturation after bathing. In summary, the bathing in this study showed a stressful stimulus on premature infants through there was significance in the physiological parameters. In addition, our study represents the documentation that vagal tone reactivity in response to clearly defined external stimulation provides an index of infant's status.
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques allow the enumeration of chromosome abnormalities and from a great potential for many clinical applications. In order to produce quantitative and reproducible results, expensive tools such as a cooled CCD camera and a computer software are required. We have developed a Chromosome Image Processing System (Chips) using FISH that allows the detection and mapping of the genetic aberrations. The aim of our study, therefore, is to evaluate the capabilities of our original system using a black-and-white video camera. As a model system, three repetitive DNA probes (D18Z1, DXZ1, and DYZ3) were hybridized to variety different clinical samples such as human metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei obtained from uncultured peripheral blood lymphocytes, uncultured amniocytes, and germ cells. The visualization of the FISH signals was performed using our system for image acquisition and pseudocoloring. FISH images were obtained by combining images from each of probes and DAPI counterstain captured separately. Using our original system, the aberrations of single or multiple chromosomes in a single hybridization experiment using chromosomes and interphase nuclei from a variety of cell types, including lymphocytes, amniocytes, sperm, and biopsied blastomeres, were enabled to evaluate. There were no differences in the image quality in accordance with FISH method, fluorochrome types, or different clinical samples. Always bright signals were detected using our system. Our system also yielded constant results. Our Chips would permit a level of performance of FISH analysis on metaphase chromosomes and interphase nuclei with unparalleled capabilities. Thus, it would be useful for clinical purposes.
This paper describes the design and development of a KrF excimer laser stepper and discusses the detailed system parameters and characterization data obtained from the performance test. We have developed a deep UV step-and-repeat system, operating at 248 nm, by retrofitting a commercial modules such as KrF excimer laser, precision wafer stage and fused silica illumination and 5X projection optics of numerical aperture 0.42. What we have developed, to the basic structure, are wafer alignment optics, reticle alignment system, autofocusing/leveling mechanisms and environment chamber. Finally, all these subsystem were integrated under the control of microprocessor-based controllers and computer. The wafer alignment system comprises the OFF-AXIS and the TTL alignment. The OFF-AXIS alignment system was realized with two kinds of optics. One is the magnification system with the image processing technique and the other is He-Ne laser diffraction type system using the alignment grating on the wafer. 'The TTL alignment system employs a dual beam inteferometric method, which takes advantages of higher diffraction efficiency compared with other TTL type alignment systems. As the results, alignment accuracy for OFF-AXIS and TTL alignment system were obtained within 0.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$/ 3 $\sigma$ for the various substrate on the wafers. The wafer focusing and leveling system is modified version of the conventional systems using position sensitive detectors (PSD). This type of detection method showed focusing and leveling accuracies of about $\pm$ 0.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and $\pm$ 0.5 arcsec, respectively. From the CD measurement, we obtained 0.4 $\mu\textrm{m}$ resolution features over the full field with routine use, and 0.3 $\mu\textrm{m}$ resolution was attainable under more strict conditions.
As the waveguide width and the radius of curvature get smaller for the effort of monolithic fabrication of integrated photonic devices, the waveguide characteristics change significantly according to the change of the waveguide width or the radius of curvature. Especially, variation of the waveguide width due to fabrication process errors induces a phase error for each waveguide from the change of the propagation constant. Therefore, it is important to quantify these variation effects on the device characteristics for the design and fabrication of highly integrated photonic devices. Here, we analyze four different types of waveguides to get general characteristics in propagation constant change by utilizing the effective index method and the analytic solution method. Futhermore, the output characteristics of two AWG(Arrayed Waveguide Grating) devices are simulated by a highly-functional computer code. The simulated results have been found to be similar to the realistic device characteristics. The required fabrication error limit for the ridge-type InP-AWG device should be smaller than 0.02 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to get better channel crosstalk than-25 dB, while the required fabrication error limit for rib-type silica-AWG devices may be allowed up to 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to obtain better crosstalk than -30 dB.

Sewerage Treatment Plants(STPs) are complexes systems in which a range of physical, chemical and biological processes occur. Since Activated Sludge Model(ASM) No.1 was published, a number of new mathematical models for simulating biological processes have been developed. However, these models have disadvantages in cost and simplicity due to the laboriousness and tediousness of their procedures. One of the major difficulties of these mathematical model based tools is that the field-operators mostly don't have the time or the computer-science skills to handle there models, so it mainly remains on experts or special engineers. In order to solve these situations and help the field-operators, the $KM^2BM$(K-water & More-M Mass Balance Model) based on the dynamic-mass balance model was developed. This paper presents $KM^2BM$ as a simulation tools for STPs design and optimization. This model considers the most important microbial behavioral processes taking place in a STPs to maximize potential applicability without increasing neither model parameter estimation nor wastewater characterization efforts.
This study investigated the fermentation and quality characteristics of a fermented beverage, prepared by semi-anaerobic culture, using sea tangle extract. A central composit design using alcohol(0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0% [all v/v] ), sugar(0, 5, 10, 15, 20% [all w/v] ) and $65^{\circ}Brix$ citrus juice(0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 % [all v/v] ) was used to find the optimal mix for fermentation. Sensory characteristics, such as color, flavor, taste, sweetness, saltiness, sourness and overall quality, were measured using a response surface methodology computer program. The optimal conditions that produced the highest acidity of 0.94 were 2.0 % ethanol, 10.17 % sucrose and 1.99 % citrus juice. The optimal conditions that produced gel 20.13 nun in thickness were 1.98% alcohol, 10.94% sucrose and 1.62% citrus juice. The overall optimal conditions that satisfied all the sensory requirements for a sea tangle beverage were 1.0% alcohol, 10.0% sucrose and 4.05% citrus juice.
The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the effect of introduction of OCS(Order Communication System) to the hospital is satisfied or not comparing the anticipated effect with the actual effect. For this purpose, a domestic hospital which has introduced and has been operating OCS for several years was chosen. Based on the internal data of S Hospital prepared before introducing OCS, researcher has analyzed the basic direction, design standard and status of operation after the introduction of OCS, etc. After analyzing the status of operations of several departments using OCS and interviewing with the chiefs of pertinent departments, a survey form was designed. Actual survey and interviews were conducted by the researcher for weeks to know whether doctors, nurses, medical technicians and clerks of the patient management dept. were satisfied with OCS and to find if they have any recommendations to improve OCS. Based on the analysis of survey, the effect of OCS was evaluated whether it has satisfied the anticipated effectiveness. For the question if they feel convenient in using OCS, doctors, nursing staffs in charge of ward and the staffs of billing dept. has answered that they were all satisfied(100%). The answers for the same question were relatively high in the case of nurses in charge of outpatient and staffs of radiography. Of course, there have been some nurses and staffs who complained for the inconvenience. However, overall satisfaction was high on the average. Some common problems occurred after the introduction of OCS were frequent errors due to instability of OCS system, paralysis of function of hardware on data back-up system and redundant investment due to erroneous choice of DB program in setting DB. It was also pointed out that lack of computer education and low participation of medical staffs has resulted in failure of developing effective software. As a result, it has lowered the efficiency of OCS. For example, some works have to be done by hands even after OCS. Based on the result of this research, recommendations to maximize the effect of OCS were presented as follows. First, strong leadership of CEO and active cooperation of doctors are mandatory. Second, all the process of hospital work should be analyzed and be redesigned in more efficient ways. Third, OCS should be designed to be user-based system which can be used efficiently by all staffs of the hospital. Forth, prior to the operation of OCS, proper tests of the program and trainings of the pertinent staff are required. Fifth, prior to the selection of hardware, BMT(Bench Marking Test) should be conducted. Sixth, before introducing OCS, staffs in charge of OCS should visit many hospitals operating the OCS system and take their cases into account.
