Batch type and column type experiments were performed in order to predict adsorption and movement within soil. Clay minerals montmorillonite and kaolinite were respectively added to paraquat which is a cationic compound with long residual time, 2,4-D which is an anionic compound with relatively short residual time and napropamide which is an amphoteric compound. Therefore, it is very important to determine the movements of toxic pollutants in the ground soil to establish measures to prevent soil grounds contamination and to restore contaminated soils effectively, because contamination of soil is getting severe due to these toxic wastes, industrial waste water, and agricultural chemicals, etc. Therefore, in this study, we have carried out column and batch experiments by using general toxic organic compounds as test samples in order to restore contaminated soils effectively as well as to prepare a basic data to develop absorbents that will remove various toxic organic compounds, with a grandiose purpose to prevent contaminations of soil and grounds due to various toxic organic compounds.

In vitro ${\beta}$-lactamase inhibitory activity of 6-triazole exomethylenepenam compounds (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) was compared with clavulanic acid, sulbactam and tazobactam. The inhibitory activity of 3, 4 and 5 was stronger than those of sulbactam, clavulanic acid and tazobactam against Type IV enzymes. And, inhibitory activity of 3 and 4 was stronger than those of sulbactam, clavulanic acid and tazobactam against Type III enzymes. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of 3, 4 and 5 combined with ampicillin was better than those with sulbactam and with cefoperazone was compared with the sulbactam against ${\beta}$-lactamase producing 27 strains. The synergistic activity of (Z)-form compounds (3 and 5) was better than that of (E)-form compound (4) and sulfone compound (5) was better than sulfide compound (3).

The effect of aqueous extract of Sanguisorba officinalis L. (Rosaceae) root (SOAE) on the immediate-type allergic reactions by anal therapy was investigated. SOAE (0.01 to 1 g/kg) dose-dependently inhibited systemic anaphylaxis induced by compound 48/80 in mice. When SOAE was pretreated at the same concentrations with systemic anaphylaxis, the plasma histamine levels were reduced in a dose-dependent manner. SOAE (0.1 and 1 g/kg) also significantly inhibited local anaphylaxis activated by anti-DNP IgE. SOAE (0.001 to 1 mg/ml) dose-dependently inhibited the histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells (RPMC) activated by compound 48/80 or anti-DNP IgE. The level of cyclic AMP (cAMP) in RPMC, when SOAE (1 mg/ml) was added, transiently and significantly increased compared with that of basal cells. These results provide evidence that anal therapy of SOAE may be beneficial in the treatment of allergic diseases.

Sequential estimation of parameters in a compound Poisson process whose jump sizes are one-parameter exponential class random variables is discussed. Cramer-Rao type information inequality is used as an efficiency cirterion. Unbiased estimators for certain parametric functions whose variance attain the lower bound are all characterized with the corresponding sampling plans.

We have studied magnetostructural phase transitions in the perovskite-type layered structure compound (C18H37NH3)2 MnCl4 by means of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) measurements. Distinct slopes were observed in the linear temperature dependences of the Mn++ EPR linewidth in the low and high temperature phases. Besides, linewidth anomalies at the transition temperatures sensitively reflect the magnetic changes arising from the MnCl6 octahedra.

A reduced salt, dry-type bulgogi bibimbap with AF-343 was prepared, and the acceptance, antioxidant antimicrobiological safety were investigated. The acceptance of the reduced salt and the AF-343 added sample, RW, showed the highest value of 5.37 among the samples, but it did not differ significantly from the other samples of the standard sample group. The acceptances of the appearance, aroma, texture, and overall acceptance were not significantly different in all samples (p>0.05). In the DPPH radical scavenging activity, the values of SW and RW with the AF-343 were 15.05 and 14.77, respectively, which were significantly higher than the 9.57 and 10.42 obtained for SWO and RWO without AF-343, respectively (p<0.05). Pathogenic microorganisms tests that were either negative or not detected in any of the samples representing hygiene safety were met in the dried bibimbap against Escherichia coli, pathogenic microorganisms, and general bacteriological tests. The aerobic plate counts were 30.0 CFU/g, indicating that the dry type salt-reduced bibimbap containing AF-343 was within the safety range that meets the safety standards of microorganisms in the food code for commercialization. Therefore, high-quality dry-type reduced salt bibimbap with AF-343 is helpful for antioxidant action and effective for skin moisturizing and can be produced without affecting the taste and palatability.

한국산 씀바귀(Lactuca dentata Makino)의 ethylacetate 추출물에서 6 종류의 flavonoid 성분이 TLC에 의해서 검출 되었으며, 이들은 극성에 따라서 A에서 F가지 명명되었다. 그들 중 주성분으로 생각되는 물질 E를 column chromatography을 이용하여 분리정제 하였다. 물질 E의 녹는 점은 $249.5^{\circ}C-251^{\circ}C$ 로 나타났으며, 그 구조를 밝히기 위하여, 물질 E와 이를 가수분해한 genin에 대한 여러가지 shift reagent에서 UV와 IR분석을 하고 또한 물질 E와 그의 acetyl 유도체에 대한 NMR 분석을 하였으며 물질 E에 결합된 당은 TLC에 의하여 확인하였다. 이와같은 분석 결과에서 물질 E는 luteolin 모핵에 glucose가 결합된 $luteolin-7-0-{\beta}-D-glucoside$로서 확인되었다.

Experimental studies were done to research the dinical effects of Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL 13) on the anti-allergic response. anaphylaxis provoked by the compound 48/80, delayed type hypersensitivity response to picryl chloride and SASC and inflammation response to egg albumin. The following results have been obtained: Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13) group were increased the survival rate in compound48/80 induced systemic anaphylactic reaction. Picryl chloride induced contact dermatitis and delayed type hypersensitivity in SRBC challenged mouse were significantly decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture (BL13) group. Inflammation response - WBC, CRP and Nitric Oxide in egg albumin induced allergic rat were significantly decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13) group. According to the above results, Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13) both depress the allergy reaction.

The root of Hibiscus syriacus (Malvaceae) has been used for treatment of fungal diseases such as tinea pedis (athlete's foot). In this study, we investigated the antifungal constituent of the root of Hibiscus syriacus Ggoma, which was produced by a mutation breeding using gamma ray irradiation, and compared the antifungal activity of H. syriacus Ggoma and its parent type. According to the results, the methanolic extract of H. syriacus Ggoma exhibited four times higher antifungal activity than its parent type against Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Following purification through various column chromatographies, the antifungal substance was identified as nonanoic acid on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.

Pb-free wave soldering process of AC Adapter was implemented by six sigma method using Sn-Cu-Ni type solder. The solder joint appearance, microstructural change, a lift-off phenomenon and reliability were evaluated through thermal shock teal. $(Cu,Ni)_6Sn_5$-type intermetallic compound of which thickness is about 5 micron was found at solder joint between Sn-Cu-Ni solder and copper land. After applying the thermal shock test of as-soldered product up to 750 cycles, no crack was found at the solder joint and the newly developed product was superior to conventions; one in terms of productivity and reliability.
