Klebsiella aerogenes ATCC 10031의 카드뮴 해독기작 (Cadmium Detoxification Mechanism in Klebsiella aerogenes ATCC 10031)

  • In order to examine that what kind of system correlated with cadmium detoxification mechanism in Klebsiella aerogenes ATCC 10031, we tried to investigate the effect of phosphate upon the detoxification and also elucidate whether the cadmium phosphate and/or polymeric Cd-Pi complex is formed actually in cell or not. As the results, it was shown that growing pattern had long lag adaptive phase of 12 hr to 24 hr, at the concentrations of 0.02 mM and 0.08 mM cadmium, respectively. Cadmium was accumulated more highly in the fraction of cell wall and membrane than in those of cytoplasm. In case of phosphate starving cells added cadmium, inorganic polyphosphate system was primarily correlated with Cd-detoxification during the lag phase for the accommodation to cadmium, on the other hand, Cd:Sulfide complex system secondarily correlated it during the stationary phase. These results implied that polyphosphate system and Cd:sulfide complex system, these two systems were operated compensatively each other. Considering the results obsdrved with EM and examined tha changes of sulfide and polyphosphate amount, it was reflected that Cd:S complex was located at the cell surface. In the results of $in-vivo^{31}$P NMR spectra in the cells with cadmium pressure, several phosphate signals arose newly from the polyphosphate region with moving chemical shift of it. This phinomenon strongly implied the actual existence of Dd:Pi comples and /or Cd:poly-P complex in the cell and also the cellular compartmentalization of cadmium detoxifying mechanism.

Prolificacy and Its Relationship with Age, Body Weight, Parity, Previous Litter Size and Body Linear Type Traits in Meat-type Goats

  • Data on age and body weight at breeding, parity, previous litter size, days open and some descriptive body linear traits from 389 meat-type, prolific Black Bengal goats in Tripura State of India, were collected for 3 and 1/2 years (2007 to 2010) and analyzed using logistic regression model. The objectives of the study were i) to evaluate the effect of age and body weight at breeding, parity, previous litter size and days open on litter size of does; and ii) to investigate if body linear type traits influenced litter size in meat-type, prolific goats. The incidence of 68.39% multiple births with a prolificacy rate of 175.07% was recorded. Higher age (>2.69 year), higher parity order (>2.31), more body weight at breeding (>20.5 kg) and larger previous litter size (>1.65) showed an increase likelihood of multiple litter size when compared to single litter size. There was a strong, positive relationship between litter size and various body linear type traits like neck length (>22.78 cm), body length (>54.86 cm), withers height (>48.85 cm), croup height (>50.67 cm), distance between tuber coxae bones (>11.38 cm) and distance between tuber ischii bones (>4.56 cm) for discriminating the goats bearing multiple fetuses from those bearing a single fetus.

  • 광학소자나 전자소자의 코팅에 많이 이용되고 있는 Diamond-like Carbon(DLC) 박막의 복소굴절율을 광학적 방법을 사용하여 구하였다. PECVD(Plasma enhanced CVD)법에 의해 Si(100)기판과 비정질실리카 기판위에 각각 성장시킨 DLC 박막을 분광타원해석기와 분광광도계를 이용하여 타원해석 스펙트럼과 광투과율 스펙트럼을 측정하고, Sellmeier 분산관계식과 양자역학적 진동자 모델을 이용하여 분석하였다. 비정질실리카 위에 증착된 DLC 박막의 광투과영역에서 분광타원해석분석으로 굴절률 및 박막의 유효두께를 구하고 광흡수영역에서 투과스펙트럼을 역방계산하여 소광계수를 구한 뒤, 이 소광계수 스펙트럼에 최적 근사하는 양자역학적 분산식의 계수들을 회귀분석법으로 결정하여 복소굴절율을 구하였다. 그리고 모델링방법을 타워해석 스펙트럼에 적용하여 Si기판과 비정질이산화규소 기판위에 증착된 DLC 박막의 조밀도, 표면거칠기 등 박막상수를 박막의 성장조건에 따라 분석하였다.

Relationship between Genetic Variants of Mitochondrial DNA and Growth Traits in Hanwoo Cattle

  • Genetic variants of Hanwoo mtDNA in the region of cytochrome oxidase subunit I, II and III complex were detected using restriction enzymes. PCR primers were designed based on the bovine mtDNA sequence, and 6 primer sets (Mt4, Mt5, Mt6, Mt7, Mt8 and Mt9) were used. A total of 20 restriction enzymes were used, and 6 restriction enzymes, which were Hinf I, Pvu II, Rsa I, Eco RI, Bgl II, and Msp I, showed genetic polymorphisms. Significant associations between genetic variants and weight traits were observed at WT15 (p<0.05) and WT18 (p<0.01) with Pvu II for Mt9, Bgl II for Mt6 and Rsa I for Mt8 segments in the region of cytochrome oxidase subunit complex. Significant associations were also observed at Mt9-Pvu II and Mt6-Bgl II segments for WT9 (p=0.01), WT12 (p=0.02), respectively. These results suggest that genetic variants of mtDNA in the region of cytochrome oxidase subunit complex may be candidate segments for improvement of animal growth as weight traits.

복잡한 영상에서의 영역 분할을 이용한 얼굴 검출 (Face Detection Using Region Segmentation on Complex Image)

  • 본 논문에서는 복잡한 배경, 심한 조명 변화 등의 다양한 환경 변화에서도 얼굴을 정확히 검출하기 위하여 영역 분할을 이용한 얼굴 검출을 제안한다. 입력된 영상에서 배경요소들로, 인한 검출 오류를 줄이기 위하여 JSEG 방법을 사용하여 영상을 영역 단위로 분할한다. 분할된 각 영역에서 사전 정의된 피부색에 해당되는 픽셀들을 추출한다. 각 영역에서 추출된 픽셀들의 비율을 이용하여 얼굴 후보 영역을 결정한다. 그리고 결정된 얼굴 후보 영역에서 얼굴요소에 해당되는 눈과 눈썹이 위치 정보와 색상 정보를 이용하여 최종 얼굴 영역을 검출한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법을 이용하여 다양한 제약 조건을 지닌 영상들에 대하여 얼굴을 검출해본 결과, 배경이 복잡한 영상, 조명 변화가 심한 영상, 얼굴 크기가 다양한 영상, 얼굴이 다수 존재하는 영상들에서 좋은 검출 결과를 보여주었다.

실험적으로 유발한 복합부위통증증후군 모델에서 속단이 통증에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dipsaci Radix on Pain In Complex Region Pain Syndrome)

  • It was reported that Dipsaci Radix has decrease pain effect on the Complex Region Pain Syndrome(CRPS). the CRPS was induced by unilateral loose occlusion in 4 part of the sciatic nerve of the rats. For the fingding significantly change on CRPS rats were divided into 4 different experimental groups. and each groups were induced CRPS. Experimental group I (control group; n=15), experimental group II (100 mg/kg Dipsaci Radix dieted rats; n=15), experimental group III (300 mg/kg Dipsaci Radix dieted rats; n=15), and experimental group IV(500 mg/kg Dipsaci Radix dieted rats; n=15). The study of Dipsaci Radix concentration was that foot withdrawal threshold to the thermal stimuli(Hot plate test), foot withdrawal threshold to the mechanical stimuli(von Frey's filament) and immunohistochemistry staining that were substance P. Hot plate test and von Frey Filament were increase in experimental group II, III, IV than group I, especially group III was most significantly change than group II and IV in post-hoc(Duncan's multiple range). and In immunohistochemistry observation; group I showed increase in the group II, III, IV. especially group III had the minimal level of the substance P expression while the experimental group II, III. These results suggested that the Dipsaci Radix dieted made the decrease of pain in CRPS.

시화공업단지 주변지역 토양의 중금속 분포 (Heavy Metal Distributions of Soils in the Vicinity of Shi-Hwa Industrial Complex Region)

  • 본 연구는 산업시설에서 배출되는 대기오염물질이 인접한 주거지역에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 시화공업단지 주변의 공단지역, 주거지역 및 녹지지역의 토양을 대상으로 As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb 및 Zn 함량을 조사하였다. 토양 중 중금속 함량의 범위는 As 0.58~3.81, Cd ND~0.91, Co 0.15~6.33, Cr ND~1.86, Cu 0.14~110.27, Hg ND~l.17, Ni 0.04~10.59, Pb 1.16~86.48 및 Zn 1.83~212.65 mg/kg으로서 전 지역에서 토양환경보전법의 토양오염기준이나 식물독성 유발기준에 비하여 매우 낮은 값을 나타내었다. As 함량은 전 지역에 걸쳐 비슷하였으나, Cd와 Cr 함량은 공단지역이 주거지역이나 녹지지역보다 각각 약 10배 및 5배정도 높았으며, 주거지역과 녹지지역은 비슷한 경향이었다. Co, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb 및 Zn 함량은 공단지역이 주거지역이나 녹지지역보다 약 2~3배정도 높았으며, 주거지역과 녹지지역은 비슷한 경향이었다.

  • 반도체 공정에서 구리 배선 공정의 도입에 따라 플라즈마 식각에 의해 배선의 형성과정에서 구리 산화물, 불화물 및 불화탄소 등을 포함한 복합 잔류물을 형성하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 아민기(-NH2)와 카르복실기(-COOH)를 갖는 성분으로 세정액을 제조하여 구리 배선 공정에서의 식각 잔류물 제거 특성을 분석하였다. 아민기를 포함한 세정액은 질소에 치환된 성분 및 탄소결합의 길이에 따라 세정효과에 차이를 보이며, 세정액의 pH가 증가함에 따라 구리 산화물의 식각 속도가 증가하는 경향성을 보였다. 아민기의 활성은 염기성 영역에서, 카르복실기의 활성은 산성 영역에서 이루어지며, 각각의 영역에서 구리 또는 구리 산화물과의 complex 형성을 통하여 세정공정이 진행되었다.

Major histocompatibility complex genes exhibit a potential immunological role in mixed Eimeria-infected broiler cecum analyzed using RNA sequencing

  • Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the differential expression of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) gene region in Eimeria-infected broiler. Methods: We profiled gene expression of Eimeria-infected and uninfected ceca of broilers sampled at 4, 7, and 21 days post-infection (dpi) using RNA sequencing. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between two sample groups were identified at each time point. DEGs located on chicken chromosome 16 were used for further analysis. Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis was conducted for the functional annotation of DEGs. Results: Fourteen significant (false discovery rate <0.1) DEGs were identified at 4 and 7 dpi and categorized into three groups: MHC-Y class I genes, MHC-B region genes, and non-MHC genes. In Eimeria-infected broilers, MHC-Y class I genes were upregulated at 4 dpi but downregulated at 7 dpi. This result implies that MHC-Y class I genes initially activated an immune response, which was then suppressed by Eimeria. Of the MHC-B region genes, the DMB1 gene was upregulated, and TAP-related genes significantly implemented antigen processing for MHC class I at 4 dpi, which was supported by KEGG pathway analysis. Conclusion: This study is the first to investigate MHC gene responses to coccidia infection in chickens using RNA sequencing. MHC-B and MHC-Y genes showed their immune responses in reaction to Eimeria infection. These findings are valuable for understanding chicken MHC gene function.

  • This paper deals with the relationship between zeros and step response of the second and third order LTI (Linear Time Invariant) SISO (Single-Input and Single-Output) systems with complex poles. Although it has been known that the maximum number of local extrema is less than the number of zeros in the system with only real poles[8], some cases with complex poles are shown in this paper to have many local extrema. This paper proposes monotone nondecreasing conditions and describes the relationship between the transient response and the number of local extrema in step response with each region of zeros.
